Seen this a FEW times (cough). Just now realizing Mari is HOMELESS & HAPPY, while everyone else is "NORMAL" & MISERABLE. Think my mind defaulted to her being unhappy as well and "fantasizing" about a better life, but she was genuinely in the moment. Everyone else's life was BROKE except hers. If you took the labels away, the only way to highlight the normal people's brokeness was to contrast their mannerisms with hers. I love these guys.

You know how you run into a video at a certain time in your life? Well this is one of those times. Not to make this all about me but I’ve been broke. Been lost. Been used. Been loved. I feel like I’ve lost it all. I can’t even find the feeling to dance anymore like I used to. And i absolutely love to dance. I’ve been feeling numb. High peaks. Low depressing forever lows. It really sucks. Like really really sucks. People I used to hang with don’t even hit me up. Not that it bothers me but it really shows that they’re only there when I have it good. But when I need them most I’m avoided and it hurts. Long story short to end this on a good note. I’ve been reading, sticking with family mostly, and seeing my girlfriend who I’m in a long distance relationship with and I love her so much. Basically showing myself some well deserved self-love. It’s pretty tough. Especially being unemployed. But this is temporary. I’ve been helping my dad who got out of hip surgery over a month ago and he’s doing well now... all I want to say is whoever feels down and out or has felt like this or is going through this just know. I’m on the journey to greatness right along with you. I may not know you. But we definitely can do this together. With moving pieces like this, it really makes you think. And so far it really had me thinking and in my feels. But hey, it’ll be alright. Much love guys. Thank you for hearing me out if you’ve read this far. You’re all beautiful people. Keep on

Almost forgot about this one. I remember when I first saw Mari at the end finally crack that smile while the music echoes “it’s alright,” I completely broke down in tears. Not because I felt sad, but because that smile had said a million words; because I haven’t been alright for a very, very long time. And I felt like no one in this world could relate to my experiences. I know everyone battles their own demons, and many have it much worse, but that doesn’t absolve me of feeling this way when my life has reflected only the worst. So when I came back to this video 2 years later now, it was almost a reassurance that “it’s alright.” … I mean I am terribly not ‘alright,’ but the familiarity still comforts me. Thank you guys for telling stories through your massive, breathtaking, and wonderful art projects.
