Don't care what anyone says. This is probably the single best trailer I've ever seen. And easily one of the best games ever created, on any platform. Ever. The Mass Effect trilogy moved me like no other game/book/movie franchise, and I've been gaming/reading/watching movies for well over 20 years.
same here :) well apart from ESV but that is in a different context, ME 1,2,3 left an undeniable impression on me. I still read at times the stories behind the character on the wiki pages. It is like as if they were so real. That as we in our present earth are sending a mission in 2035 then perhaps we may find some traces of such civilisations. I guess I am living in the dream but thanks to the character which makes me think even the fiction is reality. BTW, is there any movie made on it or in the days to come. Do share if you know about it.
Saved so many lives, kicked so much Reaper tail, lost friends and yet survived it all in the end to decide the fate of the Galaxy one more time. Truly epic, underrated series I love playing over and over.
underrated? i really don't think you know what that means. this series is huge. an underrated series is something like darksiders. great games that sadly never got the sales they deserved
It's been year 12 Mass Effects 3: The War Begins trailer is very amazing, well these units with comprehensive Legends rules, which will be available to download free online around the game’s release. These are 100% official rules, with points, and we actively encourage you to use them in your games at home,
Trying to reach the beam is one of my most epic moments. The struggle, the slow motion, the light, the graphic. Gave me chills. It felt like crawling to the final goal I've been trying to reach for three games. Then of course a kid shows up and start talking Space Magic and then I get to choose which color to die in. The End.
Rewatching the Mass Effect 2 and 3 trailers makes me wonder just where BioWare went so wrong with Andromeda. I never attached myself to the characters in Andromeda like I did in Mass Effect 1,2,3. Wrex, Garrus, Tali. The new characters just feel so stale and boring. It's a shame how good the combat is but I feel that they left out what put Mass Effect on the map in the first place and that was telling a story and making people get invested into the characters within that story. I wish Mass Effect stayed a trilogy instead of just being this money grab for BioWarEA
I think you identified the problem. Minus the bad storytelling, animations etc, the original trilogy was carried by the characters. They were all unique, extremely fleshed out and well written, and it's almost impossible to hate all of them. In Andromeda the only character I found somewhat interesting was Vetra, everyone else had the most boring backstories and I was annoyed by or didn't care about the rest.
@@Shmozone this is an older comment but yes. Much like the witcher 3. These games have to be carried by the main storyline and the character storyline. Mass Effect didnt have flashy open worlds or excelling combat. Just good enough, what set it apart is how fantastic were the interactions with the characters were and how they developed in the stoyline it was fantastic.
Yes. At E3 2011 they said about that mission. Where Shepard comes to one of the main planets, at secret labolatory, to help hanar scientists to create the cure and save them. At this mission Shepard met Thane as time-limited teammate. Information about Omega 4 Relay mission, i got from Mass Effect 3 Beta ( it's leaked version, that contained a lot of spoilers and 2 full missions - Sur'Kesh and Earth Escape ) text files. Also there were a lot cuted off info about content.
@WolfersHD The 16 are just what combination of the 3 real endings you get to choose between and 10 seconds of the closing cutscene, 8 each depending on what you did with the collector base.
Ya know... while ME3 was far from a bad game, pretty good even with the DLC actually making it complete... (all of it not just the extended cut)... but its trailers like this that remind me why game journos and reviewers are absolutely worthless.
I've been a huge fan of Mass Effect since the first one back in 2007. Upon finishing ME3 and seeing that awful ending, I got the same feeling in my heart that I did when things ended badly with my ex. Emptiness.
@AllergevKev Amount of resources is not a problem, they already have teams working on dlc. They can refocus that work in a better way. Martin Sheen is a non-issue, very few of the complaints abut the ending have been directed at the Illusive man.
@DCKingdom09 It wasn't about the depressing ending, even though we still should have been given a choice to get an ideal ending since Mass Effect is about player choice and preference. It's about the fact that you spent 3 games and 4 years getting to know the characters and the universe. Then it just ends, Didn't even do a 'Fallout' style ending. (Showing brief slides with a narrator explaining what happened to each character/civilization)
@TheChrizzle8 It was most likely not his dying breath considering that he was not breathing at all before he took that breath. And that breath was more like he woke up from almost dying or something.
Ok just asking, does anyone think that the extended cut can give everyone what they want? Like filling in the plot holes, making the chooses matter, and giving closure with out drifting too much from the original ending?
@Mumwaldee Ive beaten the game and seen the endings, so I understand your feelings (I was looking forward to epilogue with "little blue kids") but it seems that no one gives credit for the fact that the ending showed how Shepard would sacrifice himself for the good of others. Or that there is no black and white and that the Reapers are not really evil, but only created to ensure the survival of all organic life.
@Mumwaldee Whats your opinion on why they even had Shepard possibly survive? If they said that this is the last we see of him then why would they offer cliffhangers? And what kind of ending would satisfy you?
@bishop7621 its because you did the renegade ending with 5000+ war assets not because your Shepard was some superman. And for all we know that could have been his dying breath.
@japboix1 You can see it if she's your love interest. She looks EXACTLY like a human but with 3 fingers. Bioware used some random stock picture for her
@Coekieboy Oh? So, I am mistaken that unlike what was said in Arrival, mass relays do not cause a super nova when they blow up? Or how the entire armada you assembled is doomed to starve since now they can never get back home? Or why the Normandy was for some dumb reason retreating? Or how in the end none of our choices mattered?
@Mumwaldee Yeah, I don't get how people think that is even possible. Do you think that Shepard was having a hallucination after that Reaper almost shot him?
You guys remember what EDI said at end of ME2? That the reapers were building a prothean-reaper but failed; the protheans probably also had their "shepard". Probably if there CAN be ME4 then it would be a prothean as lead hero fighting the inusannon :3
@boomsticksimo And what exactly are those endings than. The three major ones are pretty much the same the only difference is that the color of the explosion is either blue, green, red. If you know of 2 more that most people don't then please tell us. Shepard taking a breath like he just woke up after dying and the old man and his grandson are just scenes added on at the end. They are not really endings.
Wasn't Mass Effect 3 suppose to have Vehicle-based exploration in it, similar to the "Overlord" DLC in Mass Effect 2? or is it in the "From Ashes" DLC?
they do not have plans to change the ending. i will never forgett this ending, i will now remember this game, like i remember return of the jedi. I was very pleaesd with it..thank you bioware...
@Thomsn0w Thing is... if you choose any other option than destruction, the reapers succeds to indoctrinate your shepard. Theres no happy endings because there no ending... perhaps they are waiting the game to be released world wide before givin us all the ending... i hope its a free dlc for everyone.
Ive played Mass Effect 6 times, and Mass Effect 2 three times. I do plan on playing ME3 again despite the endings. Becuase it wasnt the destination, its the journey.
anyone know when the face importer patch will finally b done? i can't play the story until its fixed. im too attached 2 my shepard 2 play it without him
I do, however, have some concerns about the 4th game. 1) How will the choices transition to PS4/XB1 if they make this game next gen? Or will there still be 360 and PS3 games in like, 2 years? And 2) HOW THE HELL can you possibly top the Reapers as villains?
@Shalstev My only disappointment with the ending was the lack of closure as far as what happens to your squadmates post-war. I would've liked to have seen what they were doing like...1 month/year later or something like that. Show the quarians and geth living alongside, building their new homes. The Krogan finally getting their acts together, making peace with the turians and salarians, Liara as the shadow broker, Ashley as a spectre, etc...
@MrPie45678 I have seen the secret ending but that is after the credits, and they don't show everyone living happily ever after. All of the endings have SPOILER: the Mass Relays destroyed. All of the endings are generally the same. The scenes on Earth are the only differences.
I do hope you are saying they are releasing 3 new ending DLC. Cause changing the color of an explosion is not a different ending. It the same thing with a different color and minior changes.
I never saw this trailer, was looking up "love and loss" and I didn't even know the trailer has the music, regardless of the endings, this is 2012 GOTY no doubt. Bioware you guys pull out everything for this. Hopefully the DLC will change our minds about the ending, ya'll haven't let us down before.
So it wasn't as perfect as it could have been. The task of making specific events for each thing you did would have been massive work for Bioware, so really, I'm happy with the endings as is. They've all got big differences and still stay personal to each player.
@kietasss But if this were the case, would not make sense the ending where the Joker comes out of the ship, the the destruction of Earth and the Relays! Anyone ever noticed that in the end the boy tells his father: "tell me more stories about Shepard!" This would indicate that Shepard does not die indeed?? How could I have more stories about Shepard if he/she died?
such a brilliant game. the ending was heart wrenching. I guess you have to have been paying attention throughout the entire series to fully understand the perfectly crafted ending. The entire series has been about making hard decisions has it not? For instance; curing the genophage, saving the quarians, the romance options. The ending was the hardest decision of all if you ask me...
@Persason Okay, I haven't played it yet (still waiting for it =( ) but what is about the ending(s) that's so bad? Could you explain without spoling anything, please?, because I'm getting the sense that it's bugged, or something. =S
6+ years later I still watch it. Its that good
2024 says hello!
Don't care what anyone says. This is probably the single best trailer I've ever seen. And easily one of the best games ever created, on any platform. Ever. The Mass Effect trilogy moved me like no other game/book/movie franchise, and I've been gaming/reading/watching movies for well over 20 years.

Then EA destroyed everything they touch
RUclips search “epic year for Witcher 3”. You’re welcome…
Same here bro this is still my top favorite trilogy of all the ones played in all my life
Arguably the best trailer ever made. This was the one that got me into Mass Effect.
Seeing Tali take off her mask in this trailer is always so epic
Its a shame thats her death scene in the actual game.
It's only the death scene if you choose the Geth. Choose to destroy the geth and she still takes her mask off momentarily.
I like this trailer a bit more than the launch trailer. Gets the feels going more...
+General Zod Did you find him?
After all those years still gives me goosebumps 😮
Saved so many lives, kicked so much Reaper tail, lost friends and yet survived it all in the end to decide the fate of the Galaxy one more time. Truly epic, underrated series I love playing over and over.
underrated? i really don't think you know what that means. this series is huge. an underrated series is something like darksiders. great games that sadly never got the sales they deserved
Lunjoc lol m8 i agree
This video still gives me chills when I see it!
It was a perfect music score. I felt like it is the battle for our earth. It engages me emotionally.
I will never forget this game... 🙏
All these reviews were well earned. They deserve every single one(: great game, great story, great team
I miss Commander Shepherd!
We all do
Yes! Mine died. A fitting end to a heroic, selfless journey >_
It's been year 12 Mass Effects 3: The War Begins trailer is very amazing, well these units with comprehensive Legends rules, which will be available to download free online around the game’s release. This series is part of the reason why I am enlisting in the military and it may seem stupid but it was the major Kirrahe speech that made me think
Just played that, and it was quite moving, youre right
Trying to reach the beam is one of my most epic moments. The struggle, the slow motion, the light, the graphic. Gave me chills. It felt like crawling to the final goal I've been trying to reach for three games.
Then of course a kid shows up and start talking Space Magic and then I get to choose which color to die in. The End.
This song matches ME3's tone/atmosphere so freakin well, it gives me fucking chills
That's Two Steps from Hell for you.Always fit these games like a glove.
I love two steps from hell - love and loss and love mass effect 3, the two together makes a awesome trailer.
Rewatching the Mass Effect 2 and 3 trailers makes me wonder just where BioWare went so wrong with Andromeda. I never attached myself to the characters in Andromeda like I did in Mass Effect 1,2,3. I wish Mass Effect stayed a trilogy instead of just being this money grab for BioWarEA
TheChekan there's no love put into andromeda by the devs, also no Casey Hudson (co founder of bioware and lead dev on trilogy)
Inside job, and Hudson left
MEA is made by a different bioware studio, not the one made this trilogy.
I think you identified the problem. Minus the bad storytelling, animations etc, the original trilogy was carried by the characters. They were all unique, extremely fleshed out and well written, and it's almost impossible to hate all of them. the symphony is "Two Steps From Hell", the name of the song is called "Love & Loss"
Thank you, I couldn't remember the fucking name.
mass effect games are the best on the videogames industry
Yes. At E3 2011 they said about that mission. Where Shepard comes to one of the main planets, at secret labolatory, to help hanar scientists to create the cure and save them. At this mission Shepard met Thane as time-limited teammate.

HOLD THE LINE!!!!!
Yes kirahe
@WolfersHD The 16 are just what combination of the 3 real endings you get to choose between and 10 seconds of the closing cutscene, 8 each depending on what you did with the collector base.
DreyHD23,
song == Two Steps From Hell - Love and Loss
Man you have no idea how long I've been looking for that song!! Thank you!
One of the best damn RPG's ever created. Look forward to the launch of Andromeda :)
+Amol Bhoir better pray to all goods out there to EA dont fck it up im really worried after i saw battleshit :P
yessss big time :)
DUN DUN DUUUUUN everything's lost
I don't aggred!!! the game is awesome not as much as the trilogy but still!!! For me it's as good as ME3
k0opler I just can't connect with Ryder or the andromeda crew like I could/can with Shepard and the Normandy crew
i dont know how often i have seen this trailer now but its hyping me everytime
@UndeadWilhelm There is no vehicle based exploration in Mass Effect 3. Only planet scanning, although that has been refined since Mass Effect 2.
Only thing this game needed is more space battles... everything else was perfect.
What i have in mind that with the different endings, you can have a bit different stories in mass effect 4, if you import your mass effect 3 char.
Mass Effect 3 was awesome!! ME2 was the best, but this is an outstanding game! Please come to Xbox One!
This video has brought me to tears. It makes me reflect on all those memorable missions. I'm not crying because of joy but of the terrible ending.
I love it...
@DCKingdom09 We shouldn´t post spoilers here.... however, the relays were Reaper tools and are no longer necessary.
Ya know... while ME3 was far from a bad game, pretty good even with the DLC actually making it complete... (all of it not just the extended cut)... but its trailers like this that remind me why game journos and reviewers are absolutely worthless.
The song is "Love & Loss" by Two Steps from Hell. I think every single Mass Effect trailer has their music in them. I can understand why.
Over 30 reviewers gave ME3 a perfect score…. because, like most reviewers, they didn’t finish the game.
Game was great despite the ending.
?? Lol
The game was great bro
Unfortunately if you read the info about the extended cut they aren't fixing anything.
@Parkway90x Is Shepard even on the Citadel or was he just having a hallucination? The whole last 10 minutes felt like a dream sequence or something.
@Ishanku34 This was the Mission of Commander Shepard, no matter what happened to him, his mission, his fate was to end the reaper threat
Gave me the chills and i haven´t even tried the 2 first ones.
Be right back, going to buy both 3.
I've been a huge fan of Mass Effect since the first one back in 2007. Upon finishing ME3 and seeing that awful ending, I got the same feeling in my heart that I did when things ended badly with my ex.
Emptiness.
man this series is fantastic and the trailers just show off how epic it really is
@AllergevKev Amount of resources is not a problem, they already have teams working on dlc. They can refocus that work in a better way. Martin Sheen is a non-issue, very few of the complaints abut the ending have been directed at the Illusive man.
Music is "Love & Loss" by Two Steps From Hell

Ok just asking, does anyone think that the extended cut can give everyone what they want? Like filling in the plot holes, making the chooses matter, and giving closure with out drifting too much from the original ending?

Yes in gameplay they are different Im talking about story. Which are in a way are simular in a way.
huh. I can't seem to find any info of them mentioning curing Thane.
Awesome trailer, with epic scenes and music.
it's not from the OST. It is called "Love and Loss" by Two Steps From Hell.
@PeanutGuy24 Knowing the endings suck before reaching them will help soften the blow of depression.
@cultofskaro Couldn't have said it better myself. Props to ya for voicing it.
Wasn't Mass Effect 3 suppose to have Vehicle-based exploration in it, similar to the "Overlord" DLC in Mass Effect 2? or is it in the "From Ashes" DLC?
only to have your character do exactly what he has been fighting against throughout the entire series at the very last moment
they do not have plans to change the ending.
i will never forgett this ending, i will now remember this game, like i remember return of the jedi. I was very pleaesd with it..thank you bioware...
Awesome to see new fans.
Two Steps From Hell Love and Loss I believe. Interesting choice the song works surprisingly well with the game actually.
Can't wait for this game. SO EXCITED!!!!!!
@xBlasian89x one problem though with that how can they function as those things if the mass relays are gone and they cant go any were
@Thomsn0w Thing is... if you choose any other option than destruction, the reapers succeds to indoctrinate your shepard. Theres no happy endings because there no ending... perhaps they are waiting the game to be released world wide before givin us all the ending... i hope its a free dlc for everyone.

Hard to believe this was a 360/ps3 game
This game had an amazing story... Something that I haven't seen in games for long time.
@Shalstev My only disappointment with the ending was the lack of closure as far as what happens to your squadmates post-war. I would've liked to have seen what they were doing like...1 month/year later or something like that. Show the quarians and geth living alongside, building their new homes. You know, after seeing EC, now i can proudly seeing this trailer again
I do hope you are saying they are releasing 3 new ending DLC. Cause changing the color of an explosion is not a different ending. It the same thing with a different color and minior changes.
It's awesome how Two Steps From Hell's music fits perfectly
@DudeKujkem
It's "Love and Loss" by Two Steps from Hell.
I never saw this trailer, was looking up "love and loss" and I didn't even know the trailer has the music, regardless of the endings, this is 2012 GOTY no doubt. anyone know the music track in this trailer?
♫ Two Steps From Hell - Love & Loss ♫
How did they fit all that awesomeness in to just a 2 minute trailer?
I agree. Bioware should make a downloadable alternate ending. Shepard even said he wanted to live his life.
@GhostCamaroX75 whats wrong with them?
anyone now what that song is called i dont think its on the soundtrack
@kietasss
But if this were the case, would not make sense the ending where the Joker comes out of the ship, the the destruction of Earth and the Relays!
Anyone ever noticed that in the end the boy tells his father: "tell me more stories about Shepard!"
This would indicate that Shepard does not die indeed?? How could I have more stories about Shepard if he/she died?
I did. But I'm not about to let a crappy ending destroy my love for a series. Life goes on...
I got so pumped up for ME3 after watching this. Epic trailer.
@MrCombineGuy There were 3 cliff hangers, the 2 that you said and another if Shepard survived.
Does anyone know the song this trailer used? I want that song so badly...
What song is it in the trailer?
such a brilliant game. the ending was heart wrenching.
You should look up the Indoctrination Theory ending. It feels in alot of the plot holes and actully make sence for the new ending DLC.
@PeanutGuy24 Ah, the ending, we have dismissed that claim.
