Don't care what anyone says. This is probably the single best trailer I've ever seen. And easily one of the best games ever created, on any platform. Ever. The Mass Effect trilogy moved me like no other game/book/movie franchise, and I've been gaming/reading/watching movies for well over 20 years.
same here :) well apart from ESV but that is in a different context, ME 1,2,3 left an undeniable impression on me. I still read at times the stories behind the character on the wiki pages. It is like as if they were so real. That as we in our present earth are sending a mission in 2035 then perhaps we may find some traces of such civilisations. I guess I am living in the dream but thanks to the character which makes me think even the fiction is reality. BTW, is there any movie made on it or in the days to come. Do share if you know about it.
Saved so many lives, kicked so much Reaper tail, lost friends and yet survived it all in the end to decide the fate of the Galaxy one more time. Truly epic, underrated series I love playing over and over.
underrated? i really don't think you know what that means. this series is huge. an underrated series is something like darksiders. great games that sadly never got the sales they deserved
Trying to reach the beam is one of my most epic moments. The struggle, the slow motion, the light, the graphic. Gave me chills. It felt like crawling to the final goal I've been trying to reach for three games. Then of course a kid shows up and start talking Space Magic and then I get to choose which color to die in. The End.
It's been year 12 Mass Effects 3: The War Begins trailer is very amazing, well these units with comprehensive Legends rules, which will be available to download free online around the game’s release. These are 100% official rules, with points, and we actively encourage you to use them in your games at home,
Rewatching the Mass Effect 2 and 3 trailers makes me wonder just where BioWare went so wrong with Andromeda. I never attached myself to the characters in Andromeda like I did in Mass Effect 1,2,3. Wrex, Garrus, Tali. The new characters just feel so stale and boring. It's a shame how good the combat is but I feel that they left out what put Mass Effect on the map in the first place and that was telling a story and making people get invested into the characters within that story. I wish Mass Effect stayed a trilogy instead of just being this money grab for BioWarEA
I think you identified the problem. Minus the bad storytelling, animations etc, the original trilogy was carried by the characters. They were all unique, extremely fleshed out and well written, and it's almost impossible to hate all of them. In Andromeda the only character I found somewhat interesting was Vetra, everyone else had the most boring backstories and I was annoyed by or didn't care about the rest.
@@Shmozone this is an older comment but yes. Much like the witcher 3. These games have to be carried by the main storyline and the character storyline. Mass Effect didnt have flashy open worlds or excelling combat. Just good enough, what set it apart is how fantastic were the interactions with the characters were and how they developed in the stoyline it was fantastic.
Yes. At E3 2011 they said about that mission. Where Shepard comes to one of the main planets, at secret labolatory, to help hanar scientists to create the cure and save them. At this mission Shepard met Thane as time-limited teammate. Information about Omega 4 Relay mission, i got from Mass Effect 3 Beta ( it's leaked version, that contained a lot of spoilers and 2 full missions - Sur'Kesh and Earth Escape ) text files. Also there were a lot cuted off info about content.
Ya know... while ME3 was far from a bad game, pretty good even with the DLC actually making it complete... (all of it not just the extended cut)... but its trailers like this that remind me why game journos and reviewers are absolutely worthless.
I've been a huge fan of Mass Effect since the first one back in 2007. Upon finishing ME3 and seeing that awful ending, I got the same feeling in my heart that I did when things ended badly with my ex. Emptiness.
@DCKingdom09 It wasn't about the depressing ending, even though we still should have been given a choice to get an ideal ending since Mass Effect is about player choice and preference. It's about the fact that you spent 3 games and 4 years getting to know the characters and the universe. Then it just ends, Didn't even do a 'Fallout' style ending. (Showing brief slides with a narrator explaining what happened to each character/civilization)
The Mass Effect Series is legend. It has inspired me and my film works I create at Uni. It is the best storytelling I have seen in the history of the medium. Hollywood and many filmmakers could learn from this game. And as for the ending, I liked it. It was how I expected the ending to go, and I loved that you get to see sheapard breathe in the end, hinting we may see him/her again. Bioware thank you for this awesome game and countless hours of marvel and I look forward to more games of ME
Ive played Mass Effect 6 times, and Mass Effect 2 three times. I do plan on playing ME3 again despite the endings. Becuase it wasnt the destination, its the journey.
I never saw this trailer, was looking up "love and loss" and I didn't even know the trailer has the music, regardless of the endings, this is 2012 GOTY no doubt. Bioware you guys pull out everything for this. Hopefully the DLC will change our minds about the ending, ya'll haven't let us down before.
such a brilliant game. the ending was heart wrenching. I guess you have to have been paying attention throughout the entire series to fully understand the perfectly crafted ending. The entire series has been about making hard decisions has it not? For instance; curing the genophage, saving the quarians, the romance options. The ending was the hardest decision of all if you ask me...
So it wasn't as perfect as it could have been. The task of making specific events for each thing you did would have been massive work for Bioware, so really, I'm happy with the endings as is. They've all got big differences and still stay personal to each player.
@AllergevKev Amount of resources is not a problem, they already have teams working on dlc. They can refocus that work in a better way. Martin Sheen is a non-issue, very few of the complaints abut the ending have been directed at the Illusive man.
they do not have plans to change the ending. i will never forgett this ending, i will now remember this game, like i remember return of the jedi. I was very pleaesd with it..thank you bioware...
@WolfersHD The 16 are just what combination of the 3 real endings you get to choose between and 10 seconds of the closing cutscene, 8 each depending on what you did with the collector base.
@Shalstev My only disappointment with the ending was the lack of closure as far as what happens to your squadmates post-war. I would've liked to have seen what they were doing like...1 month/year later or something like that. Show the quarians and geth living alongside, building their new homes. The Krogan finally getting their acts together, making peace with the turians and salarians, Liara as the shadow broker, Ashley as a spectre, etc...
Ugh, this trailer is what truly made me excited for the game. 0:28 made me think Miranda was gonna have a big role; 0:30, that Samara was gonna play an important part. 0:47 made me think Jack, my all-time favorite character, was gonna become more developed and have a large part to play. And then 1:34 .... TALI'S BIG REVEAL?! Disappointed me in all aspects.
Lol i am also a great fan of ME trilogy,i may not have even played ME1 but I have gone all devoted to Shepard and the mass effect universe. It's really great to know that no matter how unclear the endings were to me, i thought this epic journey has brought me more than 30 hours journying through the collecter base all the way to the final stand. Mass effect 3 certainly has a big impact on me and i love it! Its great to know other people love it toOO!
@Mumwaldee I agree that they should have made another ending or two to satisfy everyone with a custom epilogue for everyone, but what i want to know is why everyone is saying that the entire game is ruined because they didn't agree with the ending. I was pissed off at first, but the ending was moving in its own way and deserves some praise. I was just as pissed as you, but some people saying the series is completely ruined is taking out of proportion.
That's not what Bioware complained about. They straight complained about any feedback that was "non constructive". I know I personally gave tons of articulate well thought out negative feedback surrounding the game. The bottom line is that they knew before release they screwed up the game for a shot at extra income and because of that turned a blind eye toward criticism in an attempt to squelch those (correct) opinions.
@AllergevKev They dont need Martin Sheen to come back. They can still have that little child talking to Shepard, but this time Shepard has to actually ARGUE with the kid, and make the kid see that there is another way. That's how it's been for these games, we make people understand using paragon dialogue option or actions. In the game however, it was just "push one of the three buttons", Shepard goes "are there other buttons?" Child goes "nope." Shepard goes "okay."
@japboix1 You can see it if she's your love interest. She looks EXACTLY like a human but with 3 fingers. Bioware used some random stock picture for her
You guys remember what EDI said at end of ME2? That the reapers were building a prothean-reaper but failed; the protheans probably also had their "shepard". Probably if there CAN be ME4 then it would be a prothean as lead hero fighting the inusannon :3
If the endings were anywhere close to as incredible as this trailer, we'd perhaps be talking about the most important videogame franchise in the last 10 years. (it might be the most important franchise already, regardless of the endings. It changes the landscape for epic interactive cinematic entertainment completely). The game itself is incredible. Everybody seems to agree on that. I haven't had this much fun in a long time playing a game. Hope they fix the endings for everyone.
To be quite honest, I love the series. I played ME 1,2 and 3 about 5 times already trying different paths. ME3 is amazing game. Sure the ending was disappointing to some(EC DLC now available for Xbox) but overall it's an amazing game.
I hope that there's still another trilogy to come for this franchise. Mass Effect already made a mark in the 21st Century that absolutely other video games will try to copy its gameplay for years to come. I hope there's still more to come, I don't care who would be the villain or the hero is I just want the continuation of the story, there are more stories and gameplays that this franchise can offer. 5 years is too soon this video game can dominate for a decade.
Thanks friend You have given me hope. I'm glad theirs someone that still appreciates Mass Effect as I do even with all the ending fuss thats going on. I still believe theirs hope for Mass Effect Were the real fans of Mass Effect BECAUSE WE SHALL HOLD THE LINE No Matter what. :D
This game was absolutely amazing, I just think that if the ending was fixed before the game was actually released, then this game would've probably been called the greatest story line game of all time. I wish for the best on the extended cut!
Completely agree - advertising changes everything; Black Ops, Halo 3 were all pretty bland games when you get down to it and they weren't very replayable. The Mass Effect series is just incredible. None of my friends who haven't played it can understand how I can replay games over 30 hours long so many times so frequently - "Don't you get bored?" they ask. All I say is "You haven't played it yet."
@Mumwaldee Ive beaten the game and seen the endings, so I understand your feelings (I was looking forward to epilogue with "little blue kids") but it seems that no one gives credit for the fact that the ending showed how Shepard would sacrifice himself for the good of others. Or that there is no black and white and that the Reapers are not really evil, but only created to ensure the survival of all organic life.
I really hate how this didn't win more goty awards because of the last couple minute ending. This series is a masterpiece and one of the best series ever it's such a diverse and mind blowing game.
That's true. Well, you might as well start with ME2 or just buy ME3 some time later or whenever you want to. Crysis 2 may be better in the whole gameplay thing, but ME isn't about giving you a good gameplay experience. Where ME shines is the whole characters you meet in the series, the big and small decisions you make, the impact of those decisions, the secrifices you've got to make (especially in ME3), the story and the whole stuff that comes with it.
@DCKingdom09 That's not what I'm complaining about. The ending is pretty much summed up like this. "OH SHIT, WE'RE ALMOST AT THE DEADLINE, HOW DO WE END THE GAME?!" "Fuck it, Kill everyone, end universe."
Don't care what anyone says. This is probably the single best trailer I've ever seen. And easily one of the best games ever created, on any platform. Ever. The Mass Effect trilogy moved me like no other game/book/movie franchise, and I've been gaming/reading/watching movies for well over 20 years.

Then EA destroyed everything they touch
RUclips search “epic year for Witcher 3”. You’re welcome…
Same here bro this is still my top favorite trilogy of all the ones played in all my life
6+ years later I still watch it. Its that good
2024 says hello!
Lunjoc lol m8 i agree
I like this trailer a bit more than the launch trailer. Gets the feels going more...
+General Zod Did you find him?
Seeing Tali take off her mask in this trailer is always so epic
Its a shame thats her death scene in the actual game.
It's only the death scene if you choose the Geth. Choose to destroy the geth and she still takes her mask off momentarily.
This series is part of the reason why I am enlisting in the military and it may seem stupid but it was the major Kirrahe speech that made me think
Just played that, and it was quite moving, youre right
This video still gives me chills when I see it!
It was a perfect music score. I felt like it is the battle for our earth. It engages me emotionally.
All these reviews were well earned. They deserve every single one(: great game, great story, great team
I miss Commander Shepherd!
We all do
I will never forget this game... 🙏
The End.
This song matches ME3's tone/atmosphere so freakin well, it gives me fucking chills
That's Two Steps from Hell for you.Always fit these games like a glove.
I love two steps from hell - love and loss and love mass effect 3, the two together makes a awesome trailer.
It's been year 12 Mass Effects 3: The War Begins trailer is very amazing, well these units with comprehensive Legends rules, which will be available to download free online around the game’s release. These are 100% official rules, with points, and we actively encourage you to use them in your games at home,
mass effect games are the best on the videogames industry
One of the best damn RPG's ever created. Look forward to the launch of Andromeda :)
+Amol Bhoir better pray to all goods out there to EA dont fck it up im really worried after i saw battleshit :P
yessss big time :)
DUN DUN DUUUUUN everything's lost
I don't aggred!!! the game is awesome not as much as the trilogy but still!!! For me it's as good as ME3
k0opler I just can't connect with Ryder or the andromeda crew like I could/can with Shepard and the Normandy crew
I wish Mass Effect stayed a trilogy instead of just being this money grab for BioWarEA
TheChekan there's no love put into andromeda by the devs, also no Casey Hudson (co founder of bioware and lead dev on trilogy)
Inside job, and Hudson left
MEA is made by a different bioware studio, not the one made this trilogy.
I think you identified the problem. Minus the bad storytelling, animations etc, the original trilogy was carried by the characters. They were all unique, extremely fleshed out and well written, and it's almost impossible to hate all of them. Mass Effect didnt have flashy open worlds or excelling combat. Just good enough, what set it apart is how fantastic were the interactions with the characters were and how they developed in the stoyline it was fantastic.
Only thing this game needed is more space battles... everything else was perfect.
Mass Effect 3 was awesome!! ME2 was the best, but this is an outstanding game! Please come to Xbox One!
the symphony is "Two Steps From Hell", the name of the song is called "Love & Loss"
Thank you, I couldn't remember the fucking name.
HOLD THE LINE!!!!!
Yes kirahe
This video has brought me to tears. It makes me reflect on all those memorable missions. I'm not crying because of joy but of the terrible ending.
i dont know how often i have seen this trailer now but its hyping me everytime
Arguably the best trailer ever made. This was the one that got me into Mass Effect.
DreyHD23,
song == Two Steps From Hell - Love and Loss
Man you have no idea how long I've been looking for that song!! Thank you!
Yes. At E3 2011 they said about that mission. Where Shepard comes to one of the main planets, at secret labolatory, to help hanar scientists to create the cure and save them. At this mission Shepard met Thane as time-limited teammate.

I've been a huge fan of Mass Effect since the first one back in 2007. Upon finishing ME3 and seeing that awful ending, I got the same feeling in my heart that I did when things ended badly with my ex.
Emptiness.
Over 30 reviewers gave ME3 a perfect score…. because, like most reviewers, they didn’t finish the game.
Game was great despite the ending.
?? Lol
The game was great bro
Can't wait for this game. SO EXCITED!!!!!!
It's awesome how Two Steps From Hell's music fits perfectly
Awesome to see new fans.
@cultofskaro Couldn't have said it better myself. Props to ya for voicing it.
Gave me the chills and i haven´t even tried the 2 first ones.
Be right back, going to buy both 3.
@DCKingdom09 It wasn't about the depressing ending, even though we still should have been given a choice to get an ideal ending since Mass Effect is about player choice and preference. What i have in mind that with the different endings, you can have a bit different stories in mass effect 4, if you import your mass effect 3 char.
The song is "Love & Loss" by Two Steps from Hell. I think every single Mass Effect trailer has their music in them. I can understand why.
♫ Two Steps From Hell - Love & Loss ♫
Ive played Mass Effect 6 times, and Mass Effect 2 three times. I do plan on playing ME3 again despite the endings. Becuase it wasnt the destination, its the journey.

@Ishanku34 This was the Mission of Commander Shepard, no matter what happened to him, his mission, his fate was to end the reaper threat
I got so pumped up for ME3 after watching this. Epic trailer.
This game had an amazing story... Something that I haven't seen in games for long time.
The mass effect series is by far the best series in video games :-) love it
Mass Effect 2, best game I've ever played.
@WolfersHD The 16 are just what combination of the 3 real endings you get to choose between and 10 seconds of the closing cutscene, 8 each depending on what you did with the collector base.
this trailer pretty much sums up everything I love about mass effect :D
@UndeadWilhelm There is no vehicle based exploration in Mass Effect 3. Only planet scanning, although that has been refined since Mass Effect 2.
I LOVE YOU MASS EFFECT!
Extraordinary presentation :)
Yes in gameplay they are different Im talking about story. Which are in a way are simular in a way.
I hope within these 11 years you found the time to play it
Music is "Love & Loss" by Two Steps From Hell
nothing is over my friend, the dlc have not started yet, i loved this game, all of them and i am obtimistic ;)
@DCKingdom09 We shouldn´t post spoilers here.... however, the relays were Reaper tools and are no longer necessary.
@japboix1
You can see it if she's your love interest. She looks EXACTLY like a human but with 3 fingers. Bioware used some random stock picture for her
Best Trailer Ever for the best licence ever, Really Thanks BioWare waiting for the 4th
Two Steps From Hell Love and Loss I believe. Interesting choice the song works surprisingly well with the game actually.
Dude the ending devastated me.
You guys remember what EDI said at end of ME2? That the reapers were building a prothean-reaper but failed; the protheans probably also had their "shepard". Probably if there CAN be ME4 then it would be a prothean as lead hero fighting the inusannon :3

Best Mass Effect promo ever. Epic!
Hard to believe this was a 360/ps3 game
To be quite honest, I love the series.
I played ME 1,2 and 3 about 5 times already trying different paths. ME3 is amazing game. Sure the ending was disappointing to some(EC DLC now available for Xbox) but overall it's an amazing game.

This game was absolutely amazing, I just think that if the ending was fixed before the game was actually released, then this game would've probably been called the greatest story line game of all time. I wish for the best on the extended cut!
this isn't only from big sites.... also small companies and this game deserves it (my opinion anyway)
And this is one hell of a trailer, by the way. And the game is fcking brilliant. Absolutely awe-inspiring.
You know, after seeing EC, now i can proudly seeing this trailer again
@Parkway90x Is Shepard even on the Citadel or was he just having a hallucination? The whole last 10 minutes felt like a dream sequence or something.
Thank you!!!!
I did. But I'm not about to let a crappy ending destroy my love for a series. Life goes on...
@Mumwaldee Ive beaten the game and seen the endings, so I understand your feelings (I was looking forward to epilogue with "little blue kids") but it seems that no one gives credit for the fact that the ending showed how Shepard would sacrifice himself for the good of others. Or that there is no black and white and that the Reapers are not really evil, but only created to ensure the survival of all organic life.
countless endings to see to a truly amazing story. This is indeed my best game ever =D
I agree. Bioware should make a downloadable alternate ending. Shepard even said he wanted to live his life.
Tali takes off her mask?! Goddamnit! Now, I'm really gonna have to start over on Mass Effect 2. ಠ_ಠ
I really hate how this didn't win more goty awards because of the last couple minute ending. This series is a masterpiece and one of the best series ever it's such a diverse and mind blowing game.
Mass effect is the best game series I've ever played. ME3 was great. Sad but great. :)

Where ME shines is the whole characters you meet in the series, the big and small decisions you make, the impact of those decisions, the secrifices you've got to make (especially in ME3), the story and the whole stuff that comes with it.
only to have your character do exactly what he has been fighting against throughout the entire series at the very last moment
IN MASS EFFECT 4 U WILL
@DCKingdom09 That's not what I'm complaining about. The ending is pretty much summed up like this.
"OH SHIT, WE'RE ALMOST AT THE DEADLINE, HOW DO WE END THE GAME?!"
"Fuck it, Kill everyone, end universe."
Awesome trailer!
@NPrinceling THANK YOU!!!
