Nightwish has had 3 singers, Tarja, Anette and Floor. 3 very different singers but ALL amazing. If you want to hear Tarja being amazing, Supremacy Woodstock 2016. The lead singer of Muse loves Tarja's version of Supremacy.
@@NeeceLoneWolf *Yeah, well, maybe Matt Bellamy loves her cover, but I still prefer the original MUSE version with his voice...don't get me wrong....this ain't something against Tarja....I still miss her voice for "Ever Dream", "Nemo", "Dark Chest Of Wonders" and "Sleeping Sun"(1999 original version), as much as I prefer Anette's "Amaranth" [Studio-version] over Floor's 2013-live version [even if I love her for being Nightwish's Valkyries-Goddess [...I am unworthy...]].*
I prefer Floor's version with Henk Poort from the Beste Zangers 2019 : ruclips.net/video/plCScjvDOJM/видео.html btw Floor's version of EverDream & Amaranth from the Wacken 2013 are far and away much better vocally both from her & Marko & the bands instrumental performances are at a higher level of intensity and dynamics
@@nicod1361 *They have already reacted to Floor's "Phantom"...look in Mettal Mafia's videos....yeah, well that's maybe your opinion...mine's different.*
She received a letter; open it tomorrow! No, things were really not going nice together. Both Tuomas and Tarja should have decided not to continue for another year. There was no harmony between them in any aspect you can imagine. Several people are able to see this on stage and during travelling. Your relationship has to be 100 percent perfect else this wont work
This is the first and original vocalist Nightwish Tarja Turunen. She is amazing vocalist. I also recommend Slaying the dreamer, Wishmaster, Planet hell, The siren, Sleeping sun from this show (End of an era), Swanheart, Walking in the air, Pharion sails to orion, Dead boys poem, Fantasmic, Beauty and the beast from the first concert DVD "From Wishes to enternity", 10th man down, End of all hope from the Summer Breeze festival✌👍👌
Floor wasn't asked to join Nightwish until 2013. This is 2005. Tarja wasn't only their original singer, she also co-founded Nightwish. It was sad how she was fired, but she's gone onto a very successful solo career.🤘
That was Tarja Turunen the original singer for nightwish... and in between her and floor was annette... in my opinion its unfair to compare those two because both are great singer just with different styles... annette was great as studio singer ill giver her that... but nightwish is a live band and as much as i like some of their songs they released in that era with annette she wasnt a live vocalist
@@melicriszoe1 Floor is free if she wants to. She can do other things and projects, like Marco and his own album. Nobody is linked to Tuomas and NW forever. She said that her top priority is NW but she also said that she wrote and composed during the quarantine, so I don't quite understand what you wanted to say.
@@stefblt5771 I'm just saying that now Tarja has her career, she can compose her songs and sing with all the bands she wants. I am not saying that Floor is not free. I know that she took this time to write and is even thinking about a solo career. And yes, they are friends and I hope they sing more songs together.
Nightwish's 3 singers: 1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005 2. Annette: 2006 to 2012 3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+ everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out. so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does while with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish (many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here) ---------- if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones: (NOT ranked, just listed) 1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down) 2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004) 3. Wishmaster 4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well) 5. End of All Hope 6. Dead Boy's Poem 7. Nemo (watch the official music video, NOT her concert performance of it, as it's really good, this is probably what got most of us older fans of nightwish, hooked to nightwish and her, after finding/watching this song by her and nigthwish) 8. Kinslayer 9. she is my sin 10. wish I had an angel and many more too
Lovely post lml Tarja will always be the best Nightwish vocalist for me. Same as you I knew Nightwish from the early 2000s. Floor is good of course but she's not Tarja. This is Tarja singing her version of "Poison" by Alice Cooper ruclips.net/video/k5CmrO_XZwM/видео.html @Mettal Maffia
The woman singing in this video is Tarja Turunen. I love her voice ❤ Nightwish has 9 studio albums, 5 with Tarja, 2 with Anette (second singer) and 2 with Floor (current singer). The three singers have very different styles and voices, but are excellent in their own way. I would like to suggest one more reaction to Nightwish with Tarja. Please react to "Slaying the dreamer", a live performance recorded on the DVD "End of an Era". Thank you!
Mettal Maffia The lead vocalist is Tarja (Tarya) Turunen she is the original lead vocalist and one of the founding members of Nightwish, she was in the band from 1996-2005, She is also classically trained. This performance is from the Hartwall Areena, Helsinki, Finland, October 21, 2005 and was the final concert promoting the album Once (2004-2005 and the highest hopes: Best of (2005-2005). This also marked the final ever show that Tarja would do with the band as she was fired via an open letter before the show (Google is your friend, Just type Tarja Open letter). Hence why this live DVD is called end of an era. Tarja was then replaced by Anette Olzon (2007-2012) Oh and Marco was 39 going on 40 when this was filmed, I know this because he’s 20 years older than me and old enough to be my dad 🤘 I remember buying the CD/DVD set in June 2006 at nearly 20, this makes me feel old yet awesome at the same time 😜😂😜
This was the last show with Tarja Turunen. Tar-yah with a rolled R. She was the 1st Nightwish vocalist and very operatic in style. The old fans absolutely love Tarja. She is an amazing singer. Love the dark look LVT! Great job by both of you. Peace.
Thats Tarja Turunen the original Singer. A monster of a singer, trained soprano. She left the band after this song and has a great solo career nowadays. I have been a fan since 1999 and my favorite is Floor but Tarja is an absolute monster of a singer. The best singer in metal is Marco because he only had to duet Tarja Turunen and Floor Jansen !😅 honestly in terms of frontwomen in any genre Floor Jansen, Tarja Turunen, Simone Simons and Amanda Sommerville are in a league of their own.
Andrew Lord Weber said in a interview. He loves this version. Marco said in a interview as well. He'll never sing phantom. One reason is Tarja. Second is a botch throat surgery. This performance is so bittersweet. This song is what introduced me to nightwish. Then knowing right after this song. They gave her the "open letter". Canning her from nightwish.
This song happened fairly early on in the show, actually, song #5. You can tell it's early because Tuomas still has his jacket on, I've noticed that after watching several concert dvds. The hat goes away first and then the jacket a little later. So, yeah, I'm being nitpicky... they gave Tarja the letter after the show, but not right after this song. Wish I Had an Angel was the last song they played.
A bit more background on this. Nightwish actually covered Phantom of the Opera on their 2002 album "Century Child". It is the arrangement of the track on the album that was used in Beste Zangers, where Floor sang it with Henk Poort. Side note with that: Henk Poort is not only Floor's idol, but played the role of Eric (The Phantom) in the Dutch theatre production of the musical. So he knows that song and that role like the back of his hand. When Floor found out that she was going to be on Beste Zangers with her idol, she went into total fangirl mode around him, and asked if she could sing that song with him. He agreed, only on the condition that he could sing that song with her when Nightwish tours the Netherlands. That performance is still on schedule. Side note about Beste Zangers. It isn't a talk show per se, nor is it a competition. It is a show where you have already established singers (popular in the Netherlands, obviously) coming together, getting to know each other, their tastes, etc.. Each week, they feature a singer (who sits on the center couch) and get to know them, while the others sing songs that either the featured artist wrote or sang themselves, or have real importance/significance in their lives. Up to that season, Floor Jansen, who is known around the world, was all but completely unknown in her home country. Back to Phantom. As others mentioned, Tarja Turunen is singing this here, who was the first singer in Nightwish. There's a long story as to what happened with that, but needless to say, she was with the band for 8-9 years. This was from her final show with the band, called "End of an Era".
Respect the history. Tarja is not some “before Floor” one off. She is a co founder of Nightwish. She and Tuomas go back to when they were 5. ,and he built the group and wrote all the songs for 11 years around her voice. Even after she left he wrote songs about her. You may love Floor and I do, she took the froup in a different direction, tho my first love is Tarja bc she is the essence of NW which is Finnish mystery and myth and ice and rain and dark.
Nightwish has had three vocalists - Tarja Turunen (original vocalist, December 1996 to 21st October 2005), Anette Olzon (2nd vocalist, February 2007 to October 1st 2012) and Floor Jansen (October 1st 2012 as a temporary replacement / official member from October 3rd 2013 to present day *see footnote* ) A few Tarja Turunen Nightwish era suggestions follow: - Planet Hell (2006 'End of an Era' live) at ruclips.net/video/8J2yvc_Xoss/видео.html - The Siren (2006 'End of an Era' live) at ruclips.net/video/DbqzjLKw5jM/видео.html - Slaying the Dreamer (2006 'End of an Era' live) at ruclips.net/video/AvzcMjGAD3E/видео.html - Wishmaster (2001 'From Wishes to Eternity', prefer this vocal performance to the 'End of an Era' version) at ruclips.net/video/914k05c6m30/видео.html - The Kinslayer (2006 'End of an Era' live) at ruclips.net/video/FDE61n_NNnA/видео.html - Fantasmic pt3 (2001 'From Wishes to Eternity' live) overlooked gem at ruclips.net/video/lGop4MTkERM/видео.html - Bless The Child (2006 'End of an Era' live) at ruclips.net/video/eZEIf8MRuLg/видео.html

Live, the difference can be heard in older songs on 'From Wishes to Eternity (2001 release)' live compared to 'End of an Era (2006 release)' live. Of note, Tarja wasn't very well (sick) for the 'End of an Era' concert (Hartwall Arena, Helsinki on October 21, 2005) and that may have been a contributing factor for some vocal differences between 'From Wishes to Eternity' and 'End of an Era'. So many others, hard to choose! *Footnote:* Floor and Nightwish pulled off what many bands would find challenging / near impossible, changing singer with 48 hours notice on October 1st 2012. Floor had also been dealing with burnout and her band ReVamp was on hold while she recovered. However they were asked to 'keep it quiet' until Christmas Holidays 2013, announcement was pushed forward to early October 2013 around the time 'Showtime, Storytime' (Wacken 2013) was announced on DVD/Bluray - ruclips.net/video/TnKe1-8hVus/видео.html
The Charismatic voice ( Elizabeth Zaroff profesional opera singer) pegged that high note as a G5 iirc?! As in past C and E. That marco can reach for those notes even as a scream is shocking enough the 1st time you hear it.
damn i never see before that jack sparrow, very good to see that, thanx :) great reaction again this long journey band. fun fact about nightwish and marko hietala and tarja turunen. marko hietala start finish heavy genre 1985 with tarot band,he was pioneer of finish heavy metal genre( stone band same time with tarot). nightwish start 1996 and they vocalist tarja turunen (18 years old) was first female heavy singer in finland and pioneer also (maybe world also). so thanx nightwish and holopainen that these 2 connected this band. ok thanx and have great new week there.
tarja, first nightwish singer and childhood friend of tuomas, the keyboardist and principal composer. to understand the importance of what happened after the singer's departure, I would recommend that masterpiece of "poet and the pendulum" as soon as possible.
vccmrc666 to be honest i have never heard or read that Tarja and Tuomas where childhood friends, they only where classmates and in 1996 he asked her to join a band because he heard she had done vocal lessons.
I always feel that the actual phantom in this performance is Tuomas... And Marko and Tarja was puppets... He looks insane... Lol... For Marko... Go for The Islander and Pink Floyd song High Hopes covered by Nightwish... Your minds will blow... While your lips still red is another Marko memorable performance...
Most modern Nightwish fans are most familiar with Floor. I was first introduced to Nightwish when Tarja (the singer in this video) was the female singer for the group. Tarja remains my favorite singer that Nightwish has had. Floor is good and very talented, but Tarja was my "first love," so to speak, when it comes to Nightwish.
This is one of my favorite Nightwish performances. It is very iconic. In addition, the parallel that is possible between the history of Nightwish and the story told by the musical is very interesting. Tarja would be Christine and Tuomas would be the Phantom. In the musical's history, the Phantom is in love with Christine. It is an unrequited and stormy love. In addition, the Phantom is heard through Christine when she sings his compositions. The story of Nightwish is marked by dramas and many say that Tuomas suffered from an unrequited love for Tarja. Tuomas used to say that Tarja was the voice that best expressed his feelings. The lyrics of songs in Tarja's day were often very confessional. Christine was the voice of the Phantom, while Tarja was the voice of Tuomas. In the musical, the Phantom disputes Cristine with Raoul. At Nightwish, Marcelo (Tarja's current husband) said that Tuomas disputed Tarja's love (read the answer he gave to question 36 of the fans). Nightwish's choice to cover The Phantom of the Opera, just the part where Christine and the Phantom sing together, seems to be a very interesting coincidence, or who knows, it might even be a choice made by the unconscious, if the situation is viewed from a psychoanalytic perspective.
this was like watching people who know Van Halen with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer and not realizing that David Lee Roth was their original singer...just goes to show whichever era you grew up with, you loved that rendition of the band....some love DLR and others love Sammy....but whomever you like in Nightwish, this performance was out of this world...vocally and musically.....fantastic !!!!!
There were two female singers before Floor. Here we saw and heard the first, Tarja. The song was fit perfectly to Tarjas's and Marco's voices and no other woman is capable in singing the high vocals the way Tarja did although I also love Floor singing Nightwish songs because Floor can change the color of her voice from deep and rough or soft to high and rough or soft. Additionally Floor is able to Groll.
If you’re interested in Marko’s singing, you could try his first band, Tarot. Marko's brother plays guitar in it. Here's the 2007 live "Tides". ruclips.net/video/BwnApXz7jrY/видео.html
It's too bad that COVID screwed everything up this year... Nightwish were preparing to do this song with Floor this year. Floor is a different singer from Tarja, so maybe we would have gotten a heavier version.
In 2:05 you see the original NW singer who was one of the three founding members of NW and made this band world famous and international reputation from a local school band and also made their sound. With her they recorded five first albums more than with the next two singers added together. The two coming replacement singers for Tarja later studied and adopted NW style and sound after seen these examples given by her - much easier that be the creator of it. Best live of this song ever including acting of the play of Christine and Phantom. Jonny Depp who is he ?
React to song The Carpenter with Floor - ruclips.net/video/Di197sOG21c/видео.html. In this song Tuomas travels by his religiosity and presents lyrics full of personal questions and Troy sings with Floor, unlike the original song where Tuomas sang with Tarja.
Thanks for great reaction! Unusual to say, but US is behind on appreciation of a great art form; but I am committed on changing that. Only found this amazing band in last two months, but has been life changing. Their songs, camaraderie touch the soul. I am a proud new member of the NW Army!
The more Nightwish reactions I see, the more I'm convinced that the reactors only "know" Floor, cause this new generation of the Nightwish army, tends to "forget" that the band had 2 lead singers before her. The minute they find out that there's a new "reactor in town", they flood the comments section with everything about the band that's to do with Floor. I find it disappointing that the reactors "feel disappointed" for the song not being performed by Floor. Whatever Floor has done, she did way after Anette and, obviously Tarja, who was their original lead singer. This is how Nightwish presented their version of this song. This concert was amazing to the full extent and Tarja made that happen.
😱 I've watched this dozens of times yet this is the first time I've noticed Emppu at 4:20 just CRANKING. Their arrangement is what drew me to "symphonic metal" to begin with. It actually works, but not everyone appreciates it. Glad you do. 🤘 Keep rocking.
she is Tarja, the original singer. you should listen to her with nigthwish in songs like ghost love Score, Nemo, slaying the dreamer, sleeping sun, planet hell etc (songs that you must already know by Floor but that Tarja sang many years ago) and why not react to the solo career of her in songs like demons in you, in for a kill, falling awake, victim of ritual, die alive, supremacy (cover muse), to begin with! you guys will like it!
There's a whole world of Nigthwish that doesn't involve Floor, that most reactors barely dip their toes into. This song is as far as most ever go. I blame the comment sections and their hyper-repetitive suggestions that take everyone down the same path.
I agree 💯!! Instead of introducing reactors to Nightwish as a whole, they only seem to want to introduce Nightwish with Floor. If they suggest Tarja, Phantom is was you get and that's it. Nightwish was Nightwish before Floor. If you got introduced to Nightwish with Floor as the frontwoman like I did then great but do yourself a favor and tap back to Nightwish before that, and see what the other frontwomen had to offer. Respect should be given to the original lead singer and all others who followed afterwards.
The problem is, people aren't going to have much appreciation for it or even do much of it as long as the majority of the fandom only request songs sung by Floor. This is why I never request Floor songs favoring my requests for Tarja and Anette except for pretty extreme circumstances. Some people don't even know Tarja or Anette exist, sadly, as I think even though Floor is the best fit because of her versatility, Anette and Tarja's eras had better music and were more fun to listen to. imo.
What makes this version is the contrast of vocals Marco and Tarja. I've listened to Floor and Henk and they do a great job but this song is Tarja and Marco's. That's my opinion of course but anyone who listens to this has to agree that it is explosive.
I have organized as much as I can to this point on Nightwish and everything of their history on a tribute page on my website. I don't make any money on this site, is for hobby only. But, almost everything is there. Tuomas had another band before Nightwish, Floor was on 2 other bands before Nightwish, Tarja is currently making music with another band now and Annette has moved on as well doing new stuff. Floor also married the drummer from metal band Sabaton. From what I have learned about the band, Floor is into healthy eating and in "Ghost Love Score" near the beginning, Emppu the lead guitarist takes a swig from a beer. Floor, as I understand it, has secretly on occasion dumped out his beer and put apple juice in the bottle. Also, from the same song, Emppu walks around touching the arms of Marco and Tuomas and from that part has forever been given the nickname "tickle guy". Just some fun trivia. Due to the firing of Tarja, Tuomas went through a period of severe depression and from that he wrote "The Poet and The Pendulum" which has different parts that he experienced during that period of depression. On that tribute page are videos of many of the different performances including members singing with other bands such as Floor and the band Epica and their singer Simone, doing "Sancta Terra" as well as others. If interested the link to their tribute page is www.genobondo.com/nightwish-in-the-spotlight2.html . Since I mentioned the band Sabaton, how about their performance at Wacken with the famous cellist Tina Guo doing "Swedish Pagans", ruclips.net/video/NWnuSZ5pwNA/видео.html .
Floor replacing Emppu's beer with apple juice was a prank in retaliation for his prank on her at Wacken, when he turned off/unplugged her in-ears as he passed behind her on one of his wanders during I Want My Tears Back. Early on in that video, you see him talking to Troy and they both start laughing and Emppu grins and does the strongman bicep-flexing thing. Then while Troy is doing his thing on the pipes, Emppu crosses the stage behind Floor. You can't quite see what happens, but he pauses behind her for a second and then practically runs over to Marko and Tuomas while she reaches behind her back and fiddles with the wires. Troy just looks at her and chuckles. Then when Emppu comes back across again, she whirls to face him as he goes by and he's laughing up at her with this "Gotcha!" look on his face. So, knowing that Emppu hates apple juice, Floor got him back by putting some in his beer bottle. Supposedly (and I only wish I could find video somewhere) he took a swig during the show and spit it out so hard that he sprayed Troy!
Hm. A bit of basic advanced research might have helped here. Tarja was a founder member. You could argue that she was more responsible than anyone for what Nightwish became during her tenure, 1996-2005, both for her vocal performances and her dynamic stage presence. Unfortunately it went to her head. This tour was called 'End of an Era' and this was the final show, on home turf. It was the end of an era as they sacked her publicly less than an hour after this performance. Nightwish fans have been savagely divided on that decision ever since. This show was also, in my view, the seminal one in their career, more so than Wacken. And Andrew Lloyd Webber is reported to value this performance very highly. Recently, Floor has been performing Phantom with a Dutch vocalist, Henk Poort, including during two live Nightwish shows, but there is no comparison with this. (Tarja also performs it occasionally on her own tours with a guest' Phantom'). The 'other singer' was Anette Olzon, who also had a very individualistic style, and who was the vocalist on what are possibly Nightwish's two best albums (that is obviously a subjective assessment but many will agree with me) and who was also abruptly dismissed. Unfortunately that is what Nightwish do. Hopefully it will never happen to Floor.
Of course is not Floor is the amazing Tarja who has an amazing voice cause is a soprano trained singer and was with Nightwish in the original line-up. Tarja Turunen. Floor is a good soprano but Tarja is superb.
Please react to “The Promise” by Within Temptation from live dvd BlackSymphony. If you like Nightwish you will enjoy this performance too. Greetings from Mexico...🤘🏻🙏
The fact that the keyboardist has a photo of Jack Sparrow is a really important thing, and that's why the song needs to be interrupted at an interesting point I also mentally felt like my six-year-old self at the age of six, and I loved picture books and my teddy bear.
Tarja Turunen. First Nightwish singer. Have a look at her "Demons In You" with Alissa White-Gluz! AND/Or "Paradise (What About Us?)" with Within Temptation.
For some reason Mrs LVT looks different here lol..I thought it was a different girl. I had to come back and watch this again to be sure lol. Maybe the makeup was a little different or something? Maybe Im crazy. Apparently I am.
i cant believe you know marco but not tarja.... she put that band on map lol... this was last concert of her and band, she is by far best singer on that band.
The Floor version was a bit of a disappointment. Floor and the male vocalist mixed up the Phantom's part and what should have been Floor's part. This is MUCH better
This was the golden age of Nightwish. Their album with Tarja (Once) is still their best selling work followed by Anette who brought the most success. Floor is great but she is also very overrated. Albums with her on it are their worst received albums financially and critically. She's good live I guess.
This is the First Goddess of NW! She was the Goddess who is the original singer a founding member. Her name is Tarja Turunen pronounced Tah-ree-aah! She was the first, the Floor of the time. Tarja was with NW from '96-2005. Then there was Annette Olsen then Floor. I don't like Annette. Yeah I don't like her voice it's too thin, not full like Tarja and Floor. Yep try watching Elvenpath with Tarja and NW.
@@BamaGrammy I didn't like Anette at first, but now years later, I have started to accept her sound, and even like it on some songs. Still, she is not Tarja or Floor, and she really struggled live, especially with Tarja's songs.
Tarja not Floor ! Tarja was an original band member and was followed by Anette then Floor. Tarja sang everything in operatic style. Anette sang in a more pop style, both very talented. Floor combines the two with more power and range ( my opinion ). You two were digging on Marco....Give the bands cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" also at this concert a listen. LVT.....When she wore red, the mic was red. Nice reaction, thank you.
Not Floor unless she shrank about 10" and changed her style to just opera. Prefer Floor's Beste Zangers 2019 version with her opera idol Henk Poort, but I believe you've already seen it. Floor's Beste Zangers performance of "Shallow" is also better than Gaga's version.
Yep, Nightwish had life before Floor Jansen. This is what happens when all y'all just request Floor. People don't either know about the other eras, suspect there may have been other singers... maybe, but no real appreciation for anything before Floor is given because y'all "fans" never give people the opportunity to. So disappointing, and I can't even enjoy this video because they thought it was going to be Floor because nobody in the fandom educated them. This is obviously to no fault of them, and I wish I could have had fun with this one. Unless Gabriel left Ann's history lesson anywhere and it just didn't bother to get read.
it must be said that I don't like nightwish, I prefer metallica, evanescence, epica, lacuna coil ... but I must say that I prefer Tarja in some songs, and flor in others ,,, two great voices.
and the reason for "The poet and the pendulum"... as much as i like that song i would have prefered that he never were in a position where he felt he needed to write that song
@@Brainreaver79 "The poet and the pendulum" is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Musically it's incredible, but I particularly think that the band tried to burn Tarja's image with the Dark Passion Play album, probably because of many fans' disapproval of how things went. Tarja's dismissal was completely unnecessary. She had already told the group, approximately 2 years in advance, that she would leave the band. It seems to me that the group tried to punish her for that decision by launching a public letter with attacks on her and her husband. If any differences were unbearable, it would be enough to end the contract in a civilized manner, as any mature person does. However, the band preferred to plan and write the letter without Tarja knowing it, they had the coldness to record the last show with her (End of an Era concert), deliver what was written to her at the end of the concert, recommend that she not read at that moment, and publish the content of the letter the next day on band website. Because of that the band lost a lot of fans. Many of my friends, for example, stopped listening to Nightwish at the time. For me, the letter says more about the band than about Tarja. Tuomas became depressed after Tarja was fired, and perhaps "The poet and the pendulum" is an expression of his blame feelings for everything that happened. Tuomas and Tarja knew themselves since childhood, and there was suspicious that he suffered for an unrequited love for her, what probably became worst when Tarja fell in love with Marcelo, her current husband. I don't know if I believe in Tuomas' love. The band used to treat Tarja very bad. For example, she was attacked once, in the middle of the show, and the band did nothing. At the ocasion, a crazy guy invaded the stage and tried to abuse Tarja, but the band continued playing as if nothing was happening. They also did nothing in the backstage. Tarja was conforted by Marcelo at the time, a person the group just had known. Incidentally, Anette was also fired. She was pregnant, was sick during the tour, and then the group decided to replace her with Floor. Here are some sources: A snippet from the book "Once Upon a Nightwish" detailing the abuse incident - fromwishestoeternity.tumblr.com/post/111177476493/alfaangel-i-just-put-together-some-facts-about/amp The video of the abuse incident: ruclips.net/video/3bj4h1807kY/видео.html Tarja's press conference after the dismissal, in full: ruclips.net/video/ATDFinGZ8D8/видео.html Marcelo's detailed response to questions sended by Nightwish fans at the dismissal epoque: www.tuomasholopainen.fora.pl/wywiady-artykuly,29/odpowiedzi-marcelo-na-pytania-fanow-czerwiec-2006,455.html
Brainreaver79 if he would not have written the song, he would have done it in reallife. So im happy that his feelings are in the song. I definately like this song as it is right now, people are happy with it.
Raphael C S In the last 2 years, especially the last year Tuomas told they were never speaking with eachother. Hence the reason he wrote the letter. When you dont speak with eachother a long time before tarjas exit, they both should have decided to stop and split up. Nightwish is an institute and it only works when the athmosphere is really good. It was already messed up with bad athmosphere a long time before the letter arrived. Sure it would not be my way to fire someone, an open joint message would have been way better. They went on for too long and if you dont speak, you only talk with letters like he did on tarjas exit. If the things were true in the letter from tuomas, they both should have decided to stop because you cant work like that. Loads of people were able to see the bad communication and athmosphere from stage during concerts. Ive seen tarja and nightwish already in 2000 and they look a lot happier on stage then in the end of era video
@@fixxa6455 As I mentioned earlier, Tarja told the band, approximately 2 years in advance, that she would be leaving the band. At the time, she wanted to tell the public and prepare fans for the change of vocalist, but the band asked her to wait. The group betrayed her by making the letter. Nothing justifies the way the dismissal took place. The band could have just finalized the contract and made the change of vocalist in a natural way, as Tarja proposed. Apparently the group plotted Tarja's dismissal as a way to punish her for deciding to leave.

*I highly recommend : "Sparta" by WarKingS feat. The Queen of the Damned.....and..."Viral" by Amaranthe.*
I prefer Floor's version with Henk Poort from the Beste Zangers 2019 : ruclips.net/video/plCScjvDOJM/видео.html
btw Floor's version of EverDream & Amaranth from the Wacken 2013 are far and away much better vocally both from her & Marko & the bands instrumental performances are at a higher level of intensity and dynamics

FLOOR JNSN IS A BADASS WOMN
Tarja, their original singer. Her last show but she didn't know it.
She received a letter; open it tomorrow! No, things were really not going nice together.
Both Tuomas and Tarja should have decided not to continue for another year. There was no harmony between them in any aspect you can imagine. Several people are able to see this on stage and during travelling. Your relationship has to be 100 percent perfect else this wont work
@@fixxa6455 lmao no harmony? End of an Era was the golden age of Nightwish. The band had its drama but they sounded the best live here.
Tarja has a classical training. She's more an opera singer than Floor. The two are very good friends by the way.
but now Tarja is freer to compose and sing so she is much more versatile. they are both good singers equally.
@@melicriszoe1 no reason they should not be. Now Annette? Well that I do not know about.
Nightwish's 3 singers:
1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005
2. Annette: 2006 to 2012
3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+
everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities
Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out.
so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does while with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better
I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish
(many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here)
----------
if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones:
(NOT ranked, just listed)
1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down)
2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004)
3. Wishmaster
4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well)
5. End of All Hope
6. Dead Boy's Poem
7. Nemo (watch the official music video, NOT her concert performance of it, as it's really good, this is probably what got most of us older fans of nightwish, hooked to nightwish and her, after finding/watching this song by her and nigthwish)
8. Kinslayer
9. she is my sin
10. wish I had an angel
and many more too
Lovely post lml Tarja will always be the best Nightwish vocalist for me.

Thank you!

The lead vocalist is Tarja (Tarya) Turunen she is the original lead vocalist and one of the founding members of Nightwish, she was in the band from 1996-2005, She is also classically trained.
Tarja was then replaced by Anette Olzon (2007-2012)
Oh and Marco was 39 going on 40 when this was filmed, I know this because he’s 20 years older than me and old enough to be my dad 🤘
I remember buying the CD/DVD set in June 2006 at nearly 20, this makes me feel old yet awesome at the same time 😜😂😜
I watched this hundred of times and i have never seen the jack. Womens .Omg :)
It's rather ironic to me that both Tarja and Nightwish sound better now than when they were together.
@@StergiosMekras indeed. Floor is the perfect match for Tuomad music
@@ghostnf9650 and even then their album hasn't been good. Their last good album was DARK Passion Play.
Tarja is the reason Nightwish became a Metal Band! She inspired other singers including Simone and Floor. Tarja and Foor are both godess!
If I was Mr Webber this would be how this song should sound :D
Ok,next react:Epica & Floor -Sancta Terra (live retrospect show)
Respect the history.
Not Floor. She is Tarja Turunen
Nightwish has had three vocalists - Tarja Turunen (original vocalist, December 1996 to 21st October 2005), Anette Olzon (2nd vocalist, February 2007 to October 1st 2012) and Floor Jansen (October 1st 2012 as a temporary replacement / official member from October 3rd 2013 to present day *see footnote* )

Tarja changed her vocal approach around 2002, this change can be heard on 'End of an Era (2006 release)' as well as the 'Century Child (2002)' album and 'Once (2004)' studio albums.

Here is Tarja doing a cover of Muse's Supremacy at Woodstock 2016 ruclips.net/video/e5zEb5xFlIE/видео.html
Nightwish's choice to cover The Phantom of the Opera, just the part where Christine and the Phantom sing together, seems to be a very interesting coincidence, or who knows, it might even be a choice made by the unconscious, if the situation is viewed from a psychoanalytic perspective.
the spice must flow
this was like watching people who know Van Halen with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer and not realizing that David Lee Roth was their original singer...just goes to show whichever era you grew up with, you loved that rendition of the band....some love DLR and others love Sammy....but whomever you like in Nightwish, this performance was out of this world...vocally and musically.....fantastic !!!!!

I agree! and her solo career too!

Tarja and Marko are doing a tour together 💖, they were in Brazil last month...
That was Nightwish's first singer Tarja Turunen, she left the Band in 2005 or was fired after this very same show.
she is Tarja, the original singer. you should listen to her with nigthwish in songs like ghost love Score, Nemo, slaying the dreamer, sleeping sun, planet hell etc (songs that you must already know by Floor but that Tarja sang many years ago) and why not react to the solo career of her in songs like demons in you, in for a kill, falling awake, victim of ritual, die alive, supremacy (cover muse), to begin with! you guys will like it!
Actually it is Andrew Lloyd Webber's song but yes it is a fantastic version and what really makes it for me is definetly Marco

If your happy places tickle - u should go for doc to check for nits 😂 🤣
Nightwish is tarja!!!!!
I love Floor but Nightwish is like this and sounds so especial because Tarja sings like a opera singer.
Original SOngs are made with tarja Turunen...a Nightwish Fan should know this
Don't mind me, just passing through as I'm watching PotO reactions that I haven't seen yet.
Tarja is the queen!
Well guys, you want Floor singing, a full blown opera. Try ' O mio babbino Caro's.
She will blow you away. She did that with the 'Charismatic Voice '
I love Marco here❤ he has great vocals 🤘
TARJA IS QUEEN 👑 🖤the nightwish 🔥
The fact that the keyboardist has a photo of Jack Sparrow is a really important thing, and that's why the song needs to be interrupted at an interesting point
I also mentally felt like my six-year-old self at the age of six, and I loved picture books and my teddy bear.
Tarja Turunen. First Nightwish singer. Have a look at her "Demons In You" with Alissa White-Gluz! AND/Or "Paradise (What About Us?)" with Within Temptation.
Awesome thing about Floor, she could sing that song all by her self. She can be Tarja and Alissa.
SHE IS TARJA !!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
TARJA the original singer from Nightwish.. and the Queen of symphonic metal!
Tarja Turunen fully Opera trained singer 🎶🐱👤👍
For some reason Mrs LVT looks different here lol..I thought it was a different girl. I had to come back and watch this again to be sure lol. Maybe the makeup was a little different or something? Maybe Im crazy. Apparently I am.
That is Tarja Turenen their first singer
best one too
you can try Floor Jansen rendition of this song on Beste Zangers - amazing.....
Tarja Turunen
Hank Portee or something like that. On show called Bestee Zangers
Henk Poort. Played the Phantom in the musical when Floor was a child - a hero of hers.
Henk Poort, the original singer for Phantom when it came to the Netherlands. Highly praised by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
@@damienmaynard8892 you could tell that maybe he was a hero/idol of hers. And she astounded Hank on show as well.
i cant believe you know marco but not tarja.... she put that band on map lol... this was last concert of her and band, she is by far best singer on that band.
Your favorite singer by far, not the best singer by far. Tsk,tsk.... you loopy Tarjaholic, you.
Tarja👸🏻
Tarja!!❤️
🤗😘
I love Tarja!!
Tarja and Annette
Please check out more Tarja music, try her cover of Muse's "Supremacy" live at Woodstock16. She takes it and makes it her own
You made it! Maybe because of pauses
Nightwish died when Tarja left. Can't even listen to a song with Floor to the end. She has zero charisma not to mention style.
2005 years
The Floor version was a bit of a disappointment. Floor and the male vocalist mixed up the Phantom's part and what should have been Floor's part. This is MUCH better
🔥React to duki - sold out dates🔥🔥
Tarja Turunen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was the golden age of Nightwish. Their album with Tarja (Once) is still their best selling work followed by Anette who brought the most success. Floor is great but she is also very overrated. Albums with her on it are their worst received albums financially and critically. She's good live I guess.

Tarja Is the first singer Nightwish
This is the First Goddess of NW! She was the Goddess who is the original singer a founding member. Her name is Tarja Turunen pronounced Tah-ree-aah! She was the first, the Floor of the time. Tarja was with NW from '96-2005. Then there was Annette Olsen then Floor. I don't like Annette. Yeah I don't like her voice it's too thin, not full like Tarja and Floor. Yep try watching Elvenpath with Tarja and NW.
Oh and I've been a NW fan for 16 years 💞
@@BamaGrammy I didn't like Anette at first, but now years later, I have started to accept her sound, and even like it on some songs.
Nope. Their first singer. Tuomas friend he had to fire.
and the reason for "The poet and the pendulum"... as much as i like that song i would have prefered that he never were in a position where he felt he needed to write that song
