Hi Mrs Kim,, I have one question about something i wish you to clarify in this video, Where the feedback should take place, can a negative feedback of someone take place in front of his colleagues and other colleagues in a meeting, is it ok to mention his name and ask gently if he needs for example some training to improve his performance. Thanks Kim
The concept of "environment" is not emphasised/explained enough. Whenever our focus/discussion is on people only it creates an unhealthy environment. The Conflict Resolution Matrix shows such an unhealthy relationships-only context of work i.e. Individualism and Competitiveness being completely misunderstood. There is no Individualism only Mastery. The goal of Competitiveness is not to beat others or to prevent others from winning. Instead, the goal of Competitiveness is to move as a group, getting better, evolving, and most importantly learning to think differently, through failing/learning whilst doing experiments (improvements, transitions, transformations, scenarios, strategies etc). We need to shift our focus to the socio-technological (theory) definition of being a professional. There is no humanity without technology and vice versa. The Iceberg model theory allows us to simultaneously address the full stack of any workplace (events, patterns, structure/culture, vision/leadership/scenarios, mindsets/acumen, spirituality/mental hygiene). Compare the definition of a professional with the one of a pilot: safety, quality, systems, mastery, ownership, connection, trust, freedom.
“Someone comes along and says be professional and … we sort of translate that to mean to leave your emotions, leave your true identity, leave your humanity, leave everything that's best about you at home and show up at work like some kind of robot.” Here’s the thing though. My “true identity” is much closer to the robot that to the empathetic human. It’s not that I hide my emotions at work-it’s more like I have to pretend I have them. 😅 I’m perceived as obnoxious, but I just don’t wanna do office politics and play-pretend… I wanna say it like it is, and move on. And that’s exactly the sort of feedback I want to receive from others too. Not dumbed down useless comments meant to protect my feelings. So I give the feedback that I want to receive, but it’s not appreciated. 🥲

Short answer. No.
