easy to follow steps! thanks for making this video, ive never installed a stereo before i dont even understand what the wires mean but i have confidence!! and luckily enough when i checked the stereo i bought its the same as yours! now i just need to order the antenna adapter and the facia thanks again!!
Perfect? glad I could help :) have a look in the description for the accessories that are needed and also the aerial aerial booster which boosted the signal when trying to get reception for radio 👍🏾
+Gian Santiago the problem you're having is with the powering. You need the ignition live 12v which turns on with the key and the constant power 12v which keeps radio stuff in memory and stops it from resetting. Try swapping the cables over? That's the only solution if you've followed the video and installed as I did :s
Haha here's the hard part I think as I dont know what the wire color means or any technical terms that's why I'm so happy to have found your tuts but yea it's the wiring because I remember I only tapped the ignition live to the yellow wire in the sony harness but the yellow wire on the Halford for some reason isn't connected anywhere in the car different speaker system perhaps?
+Gian Santiago not too sure mate. You might have bose sound system. Again all I can say is you must have the harness and make sure you have a yellow wire connected to the harness and red wire connected to the ignition live you got from the fuse box and check wiring on your box...
Got any advice for me mate, my concert stereo only had 2 of these plugs, I’ve done a conversation to double din and using xtron but can’t seem to get it to work
hi mate, do you have bose door speakers? if so, how did you connect these with the aftermarket radio, plug and play or do u need to buy extra stuff for amp etc

I did pretty much the exact same as you did and installed a Sony radio into my 8p. I found the sound quality pretty poor tho. Audi radio was much better sound, deeper and fuller. With the Sony the front speakers were powered from the radio through the harness but rear speakers, ya use the radio rca cables cos they feed an amplifier which drives rear speakers and sub. Did you have that problem?

Hi Tim. Thanks for the video! In the minute 3:44 you insert the blue cable into the stereo harness cable. But what should I do if my stereo (Pioneer) doesn't have that cable available for the plug in?
idk if its still usefull for u, but that blue wire is to power up the rear subwoofer, and then if the remote cable is not on the Power/Speaker imput then check the AV Cable.

hey mate! i did all like you sad and its working, BUT im hawing a bacground noise in rear speakers like you know radio station is bad, AND i dont hawe a cd choise on may radio anymore, any ideas whay?
i don't really understand...this radio has no cd player...if you are talking about displaying things on dash like radio and song...that wont happen because radio is not compatible with the dashboard...background noise in rear speaks could a faulty earth of loose connection...i don't have those noises so I'm not sure sorry.. :(
Thanks for your answer! I''ve got the bluetooth one, everything works fine exept for the rear speakers. They don't work, I think I need this adaptor. Strangely I got no problems with ignition though, so I guess i don't need to wire it with the fuse box.

Hey man. What engine type is your Audi? I've got one with a diesel engine and I think the fuse for the stereo is in the engine bay. Would the ignition live fuse still be by the steering wheel or would I need to run the cable into the engine somehow? I think it's wired this way for all the diesels and the 1.6 and 2.0 petrol engines.
That car in that video was a 2.0TFSI...ignition live can be taken from the interior fusebox...as far as you tap into a fuse that turns on only when ignition on and goes off with key out of ignition. Thanks for watching Please like and subscribe TW
It’s my first time installing a Stereo. Do I need a ignition live for the stereo to work? I’ve followed the steps and wires seem to match but stereo seems to not work!
Is it compulsory that I have an ignition live? If I don't wire an ignition live I'm happy to manually switch off the head unit and remove the face after each journey. Would this drain the battery though? Thanks
+Gamer Source will not work without ignition live as it needs a power on/off or even removing the face will cause battery drain and I'm not sure if you could even turn it off as it will just be two constant power wires
Hi there. I just bought an aftermarket MP5 for my audi A3 8p, my power harnest has just 2 wires, when i plug in both black and brown , my player powers up just one second...If i plug on golf 4 it works. Can anyone help me with a piece of advice?
Hi sorry, don't do installations due to liability only instructional videos unfortunately...should be straight forward when watching video and installing at same time...just give yourself a couple hours where you won't be rushed...TW
+Arun Lee-Durban you could but I wouldn't as I don't know how you could match up wires and if you ever had to reinstall original it would be a lot of work for yourself or the new user if you ever sold.. Hope that helps

+James Hambly not sure it's needed I think it's only if you have a radio that needs extra wire..try and see if radio reception is affected or if it keeps stored radio stations after engine off...hopefully it's just not needed on your stereo...
+TW Randomz just installed it. I cut the wire and used a bullet clip to connect. Done the live ignition too. Only problem is that it can't pick up a radio signal. An ideas?
May be the wrong harness as all the parts I got worked.. unless you have the bose system which is different and needs different parts but I'm not sure which one as I don't have the car anymore .. ring up dynamic sounds..they're the best tbh Thanks for watching Like and subscribe please TW

My unit has 2 USB cables on the back, how i can get them into the glove box so i can use them anytime? there is not any hole that connects the back of the radio and the glove box, anyone did that?
I contemplated changing the stereo in my a3 for the same reason, but unless your car savvy Its a massive faff. I eventually found a way to keep my existing factory radio whilst introducing blue tooth music streaming to a 2005 model. I got an aux connector from eBay and connected it to the cd changer at the back of the factory stereo. I then plugged in a Bluetooth receiver from Amazon into the aux input and paired it with my phone. it works a treat. You have no wires, no fuse box trickery and no cables ... Overall cost £30 and it's a piece of piss to do for people like me who know jack shit about cars
7 years later and still helping people... just changed my radio today,..all thanks to this video....Thank You 👍
No prob dude! Glad to help!

it must be the harness mate, please contact a Audio visual shop like Halfords or dynamic sounds to be sure of what harness... my old car had basic system so that harness worked on mine... yours will need a different one.. good luck Ed..

Great video. Now feel like I know what I'm doing. What size amp cable did you use for the ignition live?

Here mate
+James Hambly can get it in halfords too mate! :)
+TW Randomz cheers mate. I bought 8amp, will have to change it.
Running a wire to the fuse box has me lost lol do I need to do that? What is the benefit of it?
hey mate! i did all like you sad and its working, BUT im hawing a bacground noise in rear speakers like you know radio station is bad, AND i dont hawe a cd choise on may radio anymore, any ideas whay?
i don't really understand...this radio has no cd player...if you are talking about displaying things on dash like radio and song...that wont happen because radio is not compatible with the dashboard...background noise in rear speaks could a faulty earth of loose connection...i don't have those noises so I'm not sure sorry.. :(
Hi, thanks for the great video. Do know if this also works for the 2003 A3 (8L)?
Only works for the radio unit displayed mate, you could check on the website if it with other units.
Thanks for your answer! I''ve got the bluetooth one, everything works fine exept for the rear speakers. They don't work, I think I need this adaptor. Strangely I got no problems with ignition though, so I guess i don't need to wire it with the fuse box.
Bro I have an Audi a3 2011 8p but the stereo and the harness are totally different. I bought the one you mentioned and it doesn't fit. Do you have any idea which one will fit my car at all? The stereo I have is Audi Chorus.
Yes bro you had newer car than mine
I don’t wanna quote you wrong one best bet would be to contact dynamic sounds and they’ll recommend the exact one for you
i just bought a audio system. with 2 connectors. when my a3 also has 3 connector cables. can you sent me a link or names on the adapter cables you got so i can get it to work :)
Hi mate,
I'm not sure what car you have so either way to be sure and safe, id say use dynamic sounds to find the right kit for your car!
good luck!

min 1:43..."the yellow one can say goodbye..." what is this for?
That is an audi cable mate. It has no connection to aftermarket radios. I believe it had something to do with data appearing on the dash if I can recall.
Could you kindly show how to extract the car stereo with its own keys? thx a lot Ath.
Can I install like a android 7.1 orsomething in this car ? Thanks
you probably can but need the double din housing for a bigger screen Joao..
Good luck

Cool, cheers man.
Thank you for this instruction but I have a question when I make a call I can not hear the sound Can you help me
It’s my first time installing a Stereo. Do I need a ignition live for the stereo to work?
I’ve followed the steps and wires seem to match but stereo seems to not work!
I have the same problem.
Did you get it working mate
i'm confused. why wasn't the ignition wire already in the existing loom? no one else would know to do what you did!
Audi do not have it attached like that .. I made a separate video on how to make an ignition live already,
+TW Randomz ruclips.net/video/duFjljkUubQ/видео.html
trust im pretty sure all cars shud otherwise ur standard radio wudnt come on wen u turn ignition on lol ?
ive got a golf mk4 and that had a switch live
Great video. Having trouble with the rear speakers however 😌
when i took out the factory radio the keyless entry stop working help
Everything works fine but when I make a call I can not hear their voice They sound my voice / problem well in the wires
Saved me time thank you
Is it compulsory that I have an ignition live?
Does anybody know where i can find te adapter piece to cover te sides, cos the original radio is wider then the new one.? Thank you 🙏
How you ca-n remove it?
Why goodby to the yellow?
will you be able to do it for me?
Hi sorry, don't do installations due to liability only instructional videos unfortunately...should be straight forward when watching video and installing at same time...just give yourself a couple hours where you won't be rushed...TW
what happens if i plug the red wire into the red and the yellow into the yellow?
+Arun Lee-Durban if you have an Audi it won't work as that is not how the system is wired... Not sure about others...
+TW Randomz thats mad why did they do that?
+Arun Lee-Durban no idea lol
+TW Randomz lol thanks for the reply, but do i really need the harness or could i just cut the wires and solder them , cos im kinda cheap xD
+Arun Lee-Durban you could but I wouldn't as I don't know how you could match up wires and if you ever had to reinstall original it would be a lot of work for yourself or the new user if you ever sold.. Hope that helps
In 3:00 what's the name of the cable ?
+Ricardinhoscs check video description :)
so the stereo literally pulls straight out? no screws? you kinda skipped the 1st process.
Separate video mate..have a look...

I think halfruads gave me the wrong harness. The red connector just has 3 wires coming off it. (CT20AU10)
On the loom that came with my stereo I haven't got the loose blue/white wire to connect with the one on the pc9-401. Any suggestions?
+James Hambly not sure it's needed I think it's only if you have a radio that needs extra wire..try and see if radio reception is affected or if it keeps stored radio stations after engine off...hopefully it's just not needed on your stereo...
+TW Randomz just installed it. I cut the wire and used a bullet clip to connect. Done the live ignition too. Only problem is that it can't pick up a radio signal. An ideas?
thanks mate ur video helped a lot 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What could be the issue?
May be the wrong harness as all the parts I got worked.. unless you have the bose system which is different and needs different parts but I'm not sure which one as I don't have the car anymore .. ring up dynamic sounds..they're the best tbh

I've installed this with everything you've said but my rear speakers still don't work and my radio won't tune into anything
Hi mate,
you may need a different loom .. best thing is to ring up dynamic sounds and tell them your car and radio model and see if you have the correct loom

My unit has 2 USB cables on the back, how i can get them into the glove box so i can use them anytime? there is not any hole that connects the back of the radio and the glove box, anyone did that?
Just da fit it , Init an dat
Which aux connector did you buy, do you have a link please. ???????
Rob Broadbent please let me know details of all bits so I can buy? Lol, I'm in same boat to the letter email me ASAP lynz.mcc10@gmail.com thanks
Jim St Ledger did u have any luck with regards to the audi stereo issues, I'm after same advice pls
Rob Broadbent can you send a link to the connector and Bluetooth device s you brought please.
k so i bought all the parts in the description followed the instructions to the letter and ive still haven't got any tunes in my ride.... fml
Weird, maybe wiring is different..just double check tbh mate, sorry I can't be of more help as I don't even have that car anymore to check :(
My stereo only turns on for 15 seconds then turns off lol...
Vaya chapuza si el marco no encaja
what is the yellow wire for ?
