I fucking love soul sacrifice, ride, also midnight mountain and vampire sun, to name a few of their heavy groovy tunes, but utopian blaster as a starter is a treat for sure. This band s the shit, chunky and dark doom tunes as well as powerful and groovier tunes. What dafuq more can we ask from them? They ve got away with this blend of Sabbath Ozzy era and downtuned chunky riffing doom kinda music, so far. Glad they never did fan service playing classics ad nauseaum, especially when having such an interesting and diverse pallete to draw music from. Thats what made their shows a one off experiencia, especially from Carnival Bizzarre onwards, having by then as many tunes as they could to choose from.

Lee and co came out of the English Punk Scene and that's where they got their amazing ability to forge a path that few others did or ever will with their music and general demeanor.
Criminally underrated and forever under-appreciated pioneers of English stoner-doom and the metal community in general. Definitely in my top 5 lifetime favorites
Holy fuck! I can't believe it, this is pure awesome footage. Never seen such a good vid of them. My all time favorite band. I've only managed to see them once back in the day. Leo's got an awesome sound. Thank you Metal is Still Alive, you've made my day Sir!
I only recently discovered Cathedral, on the recommendation of Eric Wagner of Trouble. He spoke very highly of them in an interview. Wow, I have really been missing out on something special. Thank you for sharing this incredible concert of a phenomenal band.
Bloody hell! They sound amazing here!!! Lee could often sound a bit crappy vocally live (but made up for it in energy and personality)! Here he sounds awsome! Whole band does!!!
Yes. I think Endtyme doesn’t get enough credit. It might. Might. Just might be their best. And this is from the guy who thinks they are the single most prodigious and proliferate and proriffic band EVER. Who else has written so many incredible and unwavering badass riffs? Yep, m saying it, even though I think Sabbath and Zeppelin are better bands unto themselves, Cathedral has made more albums and more awesome songs than any other. So Zeppelin has 25 great songs. Sabbath has about 20. Numbers don’t make the band, mind you, but Cathedral has at least 30 top notch rifftastic tracks spanning some 20+ years. Anyway, I like Cathedral very much. They are cool. Very much.
@@andrewhigdon8346 Yea Endtyme really is a pretty fucking fantastic album. I listened to it on shrooms once and had a fantastic trip. The albums has this sort of cosmic swagger, then again most Cathedral albums do.
Subbed! Great upload dude! The one and only mighty Cathedral! How can a band be so heavy and groovy and make you dance all at the same time? Cathedral is as original as it gets. One of the greatest band in my book.
Saw them at Dracfest back in '96/7. Went there purely to see Hawkwind but these were on at about 3ish in the afternoon. Me & my mate were so stoned we thought they were Sabbath in disguise.
Leo Smee is such a monster player. With The Dead are awesome too but not quite in the same ballpark as Cathedral, need a reunion of this lineup. No disrespect to Scott Carlson, he is a stupidly good bass player too, but I love Leo's playing
saw them in Melbourne 2012 set list Vampire Sun, Midnight Mountain, Funeral of Dreams, Cosmic Funeral, Carnival Bizarre, Ebony Tears, Corpsecycle, Ride, Utopian Blaster, Hopkins Witchfinder General
Absolutely fantastic show from one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time all of my favorite songs too hail cathedral from decatur illinois 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Why the fuck is there no sound until 1:00? WTF?!?! Made me freak out, and check every volume level on my computer and speakers and then suddenly, magickally CATHEDRAL comes blasting out of my speakers......
When Tony Iommi passes from this world (not soon I hope) it's a great thing to know that Garry Gaz Jennings is there to take up the mantle.. Now all we need to do is convince the rest of the band to do the same?
@@peterchrisp9003 Yeah it was the Bleak Summer Tour 96, I still have the flyer actually. They didn't play with Paradise Lost in Sydney well not that I remember, there was some issue between the two bands. Cathedral were supposed to support them (I cant stand Paradise Lost) at the Metro Theatre but anyway I saw Cathedral at the Illinois Hotel in Five Dock, Sydney and they were supporting their new album for the time Carnival Bizarre. That was an unbelievable night absolutely brilliant getting to stand right in front of those guys especially Gaz omg.

With Adam they had a bigger, wider sound. But Gaz has always been great at pulling it off on his own, quite like Tony Iommi in Black Sabbath or Phil Cope with Witchfinder General 😗👍
@@anttikoponen9647 a lot of classic doom bands have a single guitar; Pentagram, Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Pagan Altar, Witchfinder General etc...and they never suffered from it, quite the contrary. The first and only Doom band that resembles no others.

Gaz Jennings was personally blessed by Tony Iommi himself. Certified Riff Lord!
