I had a video of a taping of a whole mornings worth of Japanese anime back in 1999. Among them were 2 episodes of Pokemon, which was just starting to pick up steam in America. It was my first time seeing anime in its native form. I had seen the episodes in question before it (the two SS Anne episodes), so I was able to keep up with it. Good times!
