Please support Emika Games right now (He made this game). Because of Steams 2 hour Refund policy most players refunded his game after playing it making him broke. He decided to quit the game development for an indifinite amount of time.
Please be conisiderate of other developers working hard to give us awesome games and support them whenever you can.
Yeah I know. I always enjoy his games. Well worth the price. Annoying that some people are such scumbags over a game so cheap 😔

The Refund policy is hurting a lot of indie developers. Its like Buying a Box of Pizza, Finish eating it then asking for a refund because you didn't like it.

Steam needs to lower the time frame for refunds for extremely small games..cause this is just stupid
@@anirudhsubramanian5578 Maybe they should have a refund policy that changes depending on the price of the game. For the cheaper games, the time frame for refunds is smaller while the more expensive games can have a longer refund time frame.

Yeah, I am half russian and it's basically a nickname. A lot of Russian parents call their kids cute names and end it with 'chka' or something so in this case, Ivan is Vanechka

Thank you for the explanation! I do have one question, though: how did Maria die again? You said that the doctor killed her because she knew of the plan for the heart transplant and that he was dealing with a delusional person. But, I thought that she hung herself because she went crazy from not being able to save her son.
You are right. Maria ended her life by herself. Doctor just didn’t want to cooperate with Maria anymore and therefore didn’t rescued Ivan
@@maxpower4504 Doctor couldn't rescue Ivan, because he was a prisoner in 1950 (when Ivan died), if I understood right
I think when he said the man in the gas mask/the doctor, "Took her out' he meant that he knocked her unconscious
6:15 "Vanechka" is just a diminutive form for Ivan, like Billy for William. Slavics have weirder diminutive forms, for example Sasha for Alexander/Alexandra or Zhenya for Evgeniy/Evgeniya (Eugene).

I dont think that police interacted with ghosts and that Yakov tried to get into contact with them to help with the investigation given that he was hiding for 50 years
I heard a story a year or so ago about a woman who was an expert on investigating through the internet, and she turned her skills toward investigating a murder that hadn't been solved for like, 20-30 years... and she managed to completely crack it through the internet and her skills and solve it enough that when she turned it over to the police, they managed to catch the guy she linked it directly to and DNA connected him to the evidence they had. So sometimes stuff like this actually can happen, as ridiculous as it can sound. ... this game is obviously fictional, but solutions to cold murder cases happen sometimes.

This remind me of the hosts of ‘Crime Junkie’ it’s a crime podcast except they aren’t those unbearable & ignorant true-crime fans, they’ve actually funded multiple campaigns for crime-related stuff such as MMIW2S,
Anti-Predator Project, Missing & Exploited Children, etc and throughout that they’ve helped solve multiple different cases that date back years ago

«Vanechka» is just cuter version of name Ivan. You can call that a child or someone you really fond of. Theres also Vanya… or Vanyuha if you are being cool gopnik bros 😂
But yes the name itself (Ivan) and all it’s variants means “God’s gift”.

Vanechka doesn't mean gift from God, it is a diminutive of the name Ivan. Ivan-vanechka, it's like John- Johnny.

1967 saw the first successful human heart transplant anywhere in the world. The game developers could have spent more time pre-documentation.

How do you die from sleeping gas? The doctor seemed old at the beginning, is he even still alive 50 years later. How could Alex take this info to the police if the last we see of them is being plunged into darkness with Maria's dead body? How did Russians know about dream catchers? They were avoiding all things American at the time which I would think included Native American.
they was started by the objibwe tribe but over time it spread to other cultures and countries

To answer your sleeping gas question, there is a specific type of gas that can be used to put people to sleep in small diluted doses, but in a more concentrated gas, it can kill. Like Carbon monoxide in a car. It just takes time... (I had a nurse/doctor for a grandmother, she had many horror stories about sleeping gases)
Because most likely its not a dream catcher in the first place
There are very similar amulets that were used in places like siberia
Not to mention that dream catchers started to get popular in US only in around 60s, even americans themselves outside of natives didnt really pay attention to them

flash back to night of '58. wehen i played there was a boy standing in the door way after i opened the safe as maria. i think this boy was yakov but the weird part was that he looked like a literal alien. i want to know who he is but theres nothing about him anywhere

The first succesful kidney transplant was in 1954, but that was between brothers, because the medics didn't have any way of stopping rejection, though they knew it was a thing, and they were working on it. It wasn't till the late 60's they were able to do transplants with success on a regular basis.
I've watched a couple of playthroughs - one by Kizuna AI! - and it never occured to me until now that all this organ stealing is an anachronism, unless the events are happening in an parallel universe. Which would be fine - it's a game. The makers create the scenario - their world, their rules.

The developer got shafted by Steam's refund policy and people playing the game and refunding it. So he's stopped developing now. Which is a shame, as I really enjoy the games Emika puts out

it says on ivan’s death certificate that he died in the fall of 1950? (6:55) and the incident happened in 1958- so maria was just mad and in denial of her son’s death? like taking yakov’s heart would have done nothing- giving maria no actual motive to do what she did.

What? Where does that come from? How does one even come to such a conclusion? No, it does not mean "God's gift". It does not mean anything, it's just a common "cute" form of the name Ivan (which in its term comes from St. John (the baptist) and it used to be a very common male name in russia. There is no "god's gift" meaning under it at all.

Second i think she practice some kind of witchcraft. all the lighten candles, hanging in the middle of the bathroom, her body hasnt decomposed, the dream catcher, and the other weird hanging sticks, the bones around and the knife,
everything there point that maria practice some kind of witchcraft.even her note about the curse, she was sure she would return.
Beside if her son died in 1950 as the note says, then why she carried her plan in 58?

now do I know what ghost are ??? Absolutely not, they may not all be the same thing, they could be trapped souls or recordings of events in the rocks or echoes of the past or none or all of the above and not everything spooky is supernatural we are great at scaring ourselfs and extremely sensitive to high levels of electricity and magnetism all of which give use the heebie-jeebies, ied quess that 90% of supernatural experiences are explainable by fear, electricity, magnetism or just out right hoaxes (ied say 99% of stuff caught on video is this last one and it’s a pain as when something real and unexplained comes along it’s lumped in with the fakes) but that leaves that 10% of I don’t know what that was.
So until quite resonantly radiation was unknown and seen by local people as them evil spirits that live in that cave and make anyone that goes there ill, then scientists came up with a way to scan for and Measure radiation and suddenly them evil spirits are explained, for years the orangutang and duckbilled platypus were considered made up, they even had body’s of the platypus but scientists thought it was like the Fiji mermaid (aka made up somehow by a taxidermist) and the orangutang was just some of local legends the old man in the forest, then it walked out of the forest and into the history books suddenly what was a Cryptid because real and is now in most zoos around the world so who is to say something like Bigfoot isn’t real (whatever it turns out to be, maybe a new species of bear or great ape or a distant relative of us humans, maybe it can talk it just dosnt want to talk to us I mean who could blame it :D. )
