And the same thing that make him a great hero, when he goes full 00Fitz, is the same thing that make him a scary villain. When he is set in a path, he is unstoppable, for better or for worse.
I loved how he even anticipated for his own weaknesses by programming the robot to also make sure he himself will go through with it. That's kind of masterplanning you rarely see. Kind a similar to AIDA when she killed Radcliffe under the premises that he would come to regret him having build the Framework.
Remember when he was just the comic relief? Remember when he wanted a monkey and it was just kinda cute and it was like "Oh the quirky scientist how adorable"? Then Jed and Maurissa decided to cut our hearts out and Iain was their scalpel.
Masterclass performance. You know he takes his character and arc seriously with just this scene, a culmination of everything Fitz has been through from pre-brain injury to post framework Doctor. I won't pretend to know acting, but Iain keeps nailing these big emotional driven moments time after time, and I really wonder if it's a form of method acting or he pulls it from real life experiences. Gem of an actor.
I normally hate when an actor plays opposite himself (sorry Koenigs) or herself (Sorry Elena, you made a valiant effort). But Iain? I forgot I was watching a scene with literally just one person. It felt so... and then the REVEALING TWIST. I am destroyed. You can see all his fear and confusion and brokeness. Props to all the others. But iain is a LEGEND.
with Elena's case: she was talking to herself, her SAME self, so that's why we feel like it's just herself and not two people. but in Koenigs' case: idk, fitz is better hehehe
@@KevinMAbraham I donno, Nina actually did a good job in that episode when she's playing humanity-less Elena pretending be Katherine. But I agree Iain's acting on whole other level.
Iain is easily the best actor working on the show, and definitely punches above his weight. I always thought he was an excellent actor, but the Framework arc really showed this dude's acting skills.
They just gave him the best content to work with to show off his skills. Every actor on the show is excellent as the others and they've all had their times to shine with their individual struggles, but they really did give Iain the best writing to work with
Yeah you do, but you also have to have the opportunities to display it. He was lucky he did. He wasn't necessarily the best on the show as the show has many great actors
galaxy Eh. Coulson, May, Quake and speedy Gonzales are all mediocre actors. Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain easily shone through some of the garbage that was in the show.
I'll be quite honest, I said those comments for Elizabeth, I was just trying to be fair to the others lol. I think they're both excellent actors. That scene where they don't know which of them is the decoy is a testament to that. That whole episode really showed Elizabeth's acting chops off too. I do agree Iain is spectacular
I know it is an underrated moment from this scene, but when Fitz says "You know that, Jemma" with that face it's absolutely fantastic. That smile brings back the doctor for a moment, and shows how far Fitz would go to restore Daisy's powers. All I can say, Iain delivered this scene perfectly.
Seeing everyone beg Fitz not to go through with his plans is jarring especially after he realizes that he was the one in control the whole time, absolutely heartbreaking to watch and phenomenal.
I don't want this show to end, but all good things must, so when it does I really hope he moves on to do some absolutely spectacular work in other projects.
The title of this video is the best. But in all serious, this is one of his greatest scenes. I wouldn't put it as his best because I think he went a little over the top in some parts as opposed to other times where his subtlety is genius, (like during his brain damage) but this would definitely make his top five acting moments in Shield. And he is the best actor on Shield. We all know this.
Yes! That's where I first saw him and I thought he was brilliant. It didn't hurt that Daniel Kaluuya (W'Kabi in 'Black Panther') played opposite him and also did an amazing job.
me over here in season 4 16 seconds in: I MUST WATCH BUT I CANT TAKE SPOILERS AHHH soon i will see iain’s fine acting skills without spoilers because i’ll have been caught up ayyeee
Agents of Shield is simply the best acting level superhero tv show out there
Am telling you..
favorite marvel character, not even a superhero, but he is a genius

This is why I don't want him to die.
Are you kidding? He’s my favorite character from any fandom!

@@Beerbottles123 I think they meant “Yo-Yo” Elena from the show not Nina Dobrev from TVD
I know this is old but if you had the chance to watch it how do you feel about Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight?

Iain is a king. And Chloe... Damn girl, you killed it too! This cast is so amazing! This show needs a season 6
Concept: Iain and Tatiana Maslany working together in a show about people with distorted personality disorders
YES! That would be the GREATEST THING EVER! 😱👍
Don't forget about Freddie Higmore and his role in Bates Motel. Masterpice!
Get Enver Gjokaj and Dichen Lachman in there too.
James McAvoy to Cap it off
Beginning of Season 2 had us take notice. The end of the first episode of Season 3 was when you knew he was a force.
Right...

He was brilliant in the fades... On BBC... Proper British acting chops...became a fan after I saw the fades,

37Sith can you blame her though?
This scene was everything
I was so damn shocked 😳
He is such a brilliant actor, fucking hell
Can't imagine the pain Daisy went through 🥺
"Look at you; you are the globglogabgalab!"
Agents of Shield is the best Marvel show
...seeing this, I put Iain in the class of John Noble.... "Fringe" anyone... Walter/Walternate ? Amazing!
THANK YOU!! YESSSSSS!! I wouldn't have thought of that comparison. Now I want John and Iain to work together on something, oh my goodness
Always gives me chills. Always. So good
60 fps? How?
3:30 Huh!? I did not notice before that Fitz and Deke do look like they are relatives.

Only British actors can act, let's face it......
Come on now..he’s amazing no question about that but American actors are amazing too
