Africa Child Poetry - Ntando Kubheka

Ntando Kubheka is an eight year old grade 3 learner at Hlabana Primary school in Amajuba District, Madadeni, a township just outside Newcastle in the Province of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. She is the daughter of Jabulile Madi, an unemployed single parent. Ntando lives with her mother, brother and grandmother in Madadeni. Her grandmother supports 6 other family members financially in the household through her pension fund. Ntando got 1st prize reciting the above poem in the Amajuba District Reading Competition.
