Doodle Date You guys are amazing... I was wondering if you could message me to give some tips on an art channel because I'm starting one. Also I would like more of Adam's jewelry
Paint brush tips! 1- dry them up side down, if possible! If you dry them sitting up, the water can/will drip down into the brush head and deteriorate the glue, causing the hair to fall out or for the whole head to potentially fall off, it also stops the hairs from fraying and sticking out as much. 2. Don't push directly down on the brush! I hate that, one of my biggest pet peeves, it makes the brush all frayed and difficult to work with. 3. As artists, I'm sure you know this, but for others, always, always wash your brushes, especially after using acrylics, when acrylic dries, it's not easy to get out, but it's just a good and respectful habit to have :) 4. You can remove acrylic paint (I'm not sure about outher types of paint, I know it works for acrylic paint as well as other similar paints) from brushes if it's dried on the brush by soaking the brush in white vinegar, I believe, for.. I'm not sure how long, maybe just check every 15 or so minutes and wash it to get the now softened paint off And the last one I can think off of the top of my head is probably the most satisfying, yet impractical ones I've learned throughout my travels, is that you can return a brush head to it's store bought glory by running the hairs along the surface of a wet soap bar to form a point and make it look like it once looked, let it dry (overnight, probably), and hurrah! Brushes that look fresh from the production line! I hope at least one of these was useful in some way or another and that this ridiculously long comment wasn't a bore!
BRUSH CARE STUFF! So when you're done painting you can wash them out with the palm of your hand and a little bit of shampoo. It's the same stuff as the fancy brush cleaner only scented and easier/cheaper to find. Also if you can, air dry your brush out with the bristles hanging down if you can find a way to suspend it. If not, horizontal works too. That keeps water from dripping down into the ferrule (that metal bit) and making the hairs splay out. I've heard that if they do splay out, you can swipe it back into shape with a wetted bar of soap then let it dry without rinsing, but I haven't tried that one myself.
7:02 ok here's what I know: -ALWAYS wash your brushes in cold water and NEVER hot, it'll ruin the glue in the brush and make the bristles fall out. -remember when washing to watch out for the base of the brush making sure there's no paint there because you don't want any thick paint drying there and it's especially easy for paint to hide there -If needed wash with soap, surprisingly (or not so since brushes are usually made with or to mimic hair) things like conditioner work, but proper paint soap is recommended since human hair soap can vary in ingredients so much -FINALLY leave your brushes to dry horizontally, I know some water buckets for paint have holes to put them in upside down but that's the worst way to leave a brush because like leaving it in water there's going to be water around the base of your brush for an extended period of time (the part that holds it together aka the base of your bush aka the metal part + water and time is bad)
Yesterday i was looking around hobbycraft for art supplies and I heard two girls talking about colourblind artists and I'm also 100% that the conversation ended with talking about your channel. Along the lines of "I watch this channel and one of them is colour blind and lately they've been doing things and tests." If you were the blonde girl talking with her brown haired friend then Hi!! I was the short person wearing all black. I would have talked to you but social anxiety and you looked quite a bit older than me! 😊😂
Aww that's such a shame you were too shy to start a conversation with them. Don't let age difference make it more difficult to interact with someone. Especially people who come to art supply stores are often young at heart, even when they might look even older than your parents! The older you get, the less important age becomes. I am 39 (wuttt???!!! 😲) and one of my good friends just turned 22. It's really like there's no age difference at all. I only feel old when I remember certain music or series being popular that was made before she was born 😜🙈.
I find it so cool when I hear about old hobbies and jobs that people used to have! Especially ones that I never would have thought about? It gives a whole new perspective on people for me
I would love to see more of Adam's jewelry! Also paint brush care tip: when letting your paint brush dry, let the bristles dry on top. It will prevent the brushes from being bent and flared out.
You should do "Well done for taking part" ink queens with your least favourite colour of ink! Seeing as you have all three sports day medals covered you need the "well done sticker" version.
Just wanted to say I recently found doodle date videos on RUclips. I quickly became a huge fan. Thank you for what you guys do, it's encouraged me to get back into drawing. Keep making videos.

I use GIMP, it's kinda like photoshop and I'm pretty sure you can even import photoshop brushes into it so brush packs shouldn't be hard to find. And congratulations on getting a drawing tablet!

The jewelry is so cool! It reminds me of Cursed Child. (which is very fitting as tODAY IS THE DAY ALBUS AND SCORPIUS MEET!)
