@Arrow Head Jesus christ, guys, loosen up, this guy is happy that the guy gives at least half a shit about guns when he's making guides for a game about guns.
ikr. I had to come back to these videos to reminisce of the days when I would come from school and study guns by watching these videos to get better at the game.
“Faster reload is useful too” Dies reloading “Extended mag is good, with slow rof there should be enough ammo” Runs out of ammo 😂 can’t believe I didn’t catch that back then.
How the ACOG ADDED recoil made absolutely no sense. If anything, it adds more weight to the weapon system, making it more steady. Thank god BO2 finally made ACOGs usable and make sense.
I've used (by force) an ACOG in real life (which isn't any of these sights or most of the other sights named ACOG in CoD games) and it doesn't increase recoil, and it's not noticeably heavy to the point of lowering it. It's just a balancing thing for this game. It's not a simulator.
Props for the video series man. I'm a 15th prestige, a regular player for the entire nine months that the game has been out, but your series consistently teaches me new things about weapons I use regularly. For example, I never realized that the Enfield had only a 0.2 second reload time, the fastest among assault rifles. That knowledge is valuable in building a class around it, and I would not have it without the extreme detail presented in your video. Once again, props to you. Great series
Your gameplay and voice sure make it tempting to reinstall and play again but what I'm seeing is what it was in it's prime (a mere 5 years ago), the only people left on steam are the 5,000 hour tryhards and neverwillbe's, such is the price to pay for a yearly franchise release, the older games are left in the dust.
The M16 was also my starting gun. But because it has 3-Round burst, and I wasn't that great, I was pummeled in every game I played (usually with -ve K/D). However, when I started using the Enfield with Red-Dot Sight, I started doing much better...
Enfield Suppressor and Reflex Sight (Blue, with the two triangles and the dot in the middle) Yukon Camo M1911 Suppressor Scavenger, Warlord, Marathon Concussion Frag Smoke Face Paint Arctic Warfare ;)
@sspope It kills just as quickly as the MP5K and AK74u do at close range, albeit without the headshot benefit. A slower rate of fire is more forgiving up close - it's all to easy to deplete a magazine prematurely with the FAMAS or AUG.
Dude, your voice just captured me. The info is top notch too. I'm a 7th Prestige, so I've been playing the game for a while, but I even found useful info in this video.
I've just recently bought the ACOG Scope for the Enfield and it works a real treat. I've been getting far less deaths and more kills with it. Great Video!!
I love your videos, these guides are incomparable! All of these Black Ops ones are especially great, and super helpful! Although Id like to see guides to the MW3 weapons, the history videos are great too. Overall, you've changed the way I look at these guns and your a great commentator! Keep these coming! :)
The Brits should have stuck with the L1A1. A lot of countries are starting to blow the dust off their old 7,62 NATO rifles. The L85A1 I used was atrocious. I'd much prefer a solid and hard hitting FAL.
ChatsGames Not currently, and I'm sure you never were kid. I've had hands on experience with the L85, both metric and inch pattern FAL's, M4's, M16's, belt feds, DMR's, etc. Can you say the same?
ChatsGames Good, unlike most of the people commenting. Have you had any trigger time on the L85A1? The one I shot was pretty bad, but from what I've heard, the A2 is an improvement after H&K fixed it as best they could. And many countries are retrofitting their old 308 rifles into 21st century DMR's. The Germans are using G3's, the US are using M14's and M21's, etc.
Lion Celica I've shot both the a1 and a2, yes the a1 was atrocious, as well as being horribly unreliable and the mag release would brush on you and drop the mag out, but all that is fixed in the a2, we had some US troops on a joint ex and fired each others weapons and they all loved it. The FAL or SLR as we called it was an excellent weapon but its not an assault rifle. Firing on full auto is nigh impossible to control. Our SLR's were semi only and of course it saw action in the Falklands against the argies who were using the FAL which had fully automatic. But ours performed a lot better.
Super Mahilo Given how versatile the Enfield can be, any attachment bar the Infrared Scope and close range underbarrels prove useful on the weapon. Red Dot and Reflex for a more accurate representation of recoil (because the Enfield's gunkick somewhat obscures the weapon's viewkick), ACOG for a zoom enhancement (although you're less effective across all ranges thanks to longer ADS and increased recoil), Suppressor for stealth, and the magazine attachments for less concerns whilst reloading.
This guy should seriously work for the history channel and do this type of documentary, I'd love to hear him do such awesome reviews and guides to the actual weaponry.
Because they are the same. The concept IRL is a peep sight with a front sight post. Line up the two on target, pull the trigger. This is translated into COD as a sort of ghost ring and front sight post. Anything else on the sight is to increase durability, such as the cloaking on the front sight post. SMGs, pistols, and sniper rifles follow a different concept that I can explain if you ask.
My OP class set up for the Enfield is. Enfield with Grenade Launcher Strella 3 Perk Ghost ( Pro ) Hardend ( Pro ) Hacker ( Pro ) Semtex Flashbangs Claymore I play games on Firing Range and Nuketown on a 30 kills on less then 10 deaths
+Mr. OrangeFlan and then, why I am I cancerous? I just made a refrence to a song which the guy who made it shares his last name (Enfield) with this gun and is also from England.
This game was do damn lazy with the weapons. 3 rates of fire total, 2 sets of damage output figures for automatic weapons, and even the SAME EXACT iron sights? The French FAMAS, Austrian AUG, American M60, and British Enfield def should NOT have the same iron sights in-game. They didn't have accessory rails back than either so they couldn't use the then non-existent back-up iron sights. We all know what they really look like, and I'm sure the developers did as well, but why did they change them all and make a small part of the weapon models the same? I liked this game, but the second chance, lack of weapon diversity in both performance and appearance, and lack of audible enemy footsteps even though you can clearly hear your own AND your teammates was disgustingly pathetic. Shame on you Treyarch. Black Ops 2 was the shit, but you still could just barely hear enemy footsteps ONLY when you used the Awareness perk and have a nice headset. That forced me to always use that as my 3rd perk, so I'd have to use a wildcard to have a different one as well. They really need to revive the series with another WW2 setting title for 2015. With the new hardware and capabilities that come with it, an updated World at War would be just what the doctor ordered IMO. Only that and the new Fallout (whenever that comes out) will convince me to purchase an XBOX One. Or perhaps a nice gaming PC, money-permitting. We shall see.
Treyarch did the right thing with the fire rates, you just don't understand it. Every cod game up to BO3 had set fire rate levels due to the engine that is used causing frame rate rounding. So on console, at 60 fps, all weapons fire rates would round down to around the set benchmarks, which were 400, 450, 514, 600, 720, 900, and 1200 (there are more but no point in listing them). So Treyarch knew what they were doing in regards to this. They could've given guns more quircks for more variety, but the fire rates were fine.
In regards to the iron sights, I they were weighing the difference between realism, usefulness, and fun. There were a lot of guns that felt redundant or completely outclassed in every way. The AUG was a slightly worse FAMAS. Commando was the AK47 with different irons and better handling. The Mac11, PM63, and Kiparis were already mechanically identical. In the sea of clones, the Enfield felt like a unique weapon. The irons made it look different, and the faster handling, low damage, and low ROF made it feel like a hybrid SMG-AR. I loved it on my stealth class: Ghost, Warlord, Hacker, Enfield with suppressor and dual mags. However, it did feel like the most balanced COD, with most of the weapons being at least competitive or filling a niche.
hey man, i just wanted to say your videos are the best on youtube. With the epic captain price commentary :) and the well structured info, you really make good videos. And just wondering what your favorite weapon is?
@MrSkme I actually find that adding a suppressor makes this slightly above average assault rifle. Certainly worth considering, it's an interesting weapon.
Guys just in case you don't already know XboxAhoy actually made a small error in this video in the case of the ACOG(SUSAT) sight. With the M16 it actually increases accuracy which is special you could sort of say. Now the Enfield actually has a special trait similar to this because it doesn't have an increase or decrease in accuracy which is where Ahoy made a small mistake but overall he is correct about everything else.
What he meant is the MTAR is the spiritual successor, MTAR is unlocked early as well and it's a very decent all rounder. Hence it serves the same purpose as the Enfield.
The more I look at it, the more it makes me think that it was the version before the L85. Five years ago, I would have never thought it would have been the ancestor of UK current standard issue AR. I seriously just realized that by looking at it. Freaking blew my mind.
I think this might be the least used assault rifle in the game. It takes a little practice, but if you try this set-up, it's pretty effective. It's like a hybrid between AR's and SMG's. It will lose too close to an MP5K in a close up battle in the right hands, or a Galil in the right hands at long range. A trick I learned with this class is you want to sprint past longer areas, but slow down well before your LOS, because sprinting will cost you time to fire.
I love this weapon! I really can't understand why it is so underused, it has a awesome R.O.F and decent damage to go with it. + being unlocked at level 6 is even better. Personally id rather the enfield over the famas or aug anyday.
I like the Enfield with dual mag and sleight of hand pro, true its got a fast aim time but with slight of hand pro aiming is much much faster, and with dual mag reloading takes about 0.02 seconds. Scavenger is also a good perk as well with it, really great for people who like to rush on TDM and Domination.
One thing I noticed about the Enfield: it's (Technically) in Black Ops 2. The Type 25 is similar and it also has a HMG variant. The Enfield is really the British L85 and their HMG variant is the L86. Notice the similarity between the two? Rear-loading, has two variants, decent weapon, fully auto and have similar attachments. If you put Countries out of the question, they are pretty much the same gun.
FAL is my go to AR. Coupling it with Masterkey and Steady aim, makes a gun as lethal up close as it is at long range. This helps me cus im always charging into interiors, not dieing from my own brashness helps alot. Looking back over these vids now so i can build a Full-auto AR class, i think this will be my new gun. Now to totally not listen to Ahoys class setup, and press this gun into a role its not designed for. ACOG sight ho (it worked with the FAL , I get 2-3 KDR and near 20 kills)
I use extended mags with scavenger, and then hardend for orange perk (extended mags makes reloading less frequent, so no need for slight of hand). If you use a different blue perk, then use dual mags and slight of hand. It really doesn't need any attachments to preform well, though.
As opposed to lightweight, marathon classes, where I actually keep running towards them as I'm firing, flak jacket and marathon is kind of a cross of stealth and rushing. You rush across long spans (if you can't avoid them altogether), and slow down when you can get maximum lethality. I've also learned that when you have no other choice but the longshot... always burst. 2 bursts of 2 with this particular weapon, since you'll need 4 to kill.
Now the Enfield is what I call the entry level gun of Black Ops Multiplayer. Controllable recoil, good magazine size and nice accuracy is perfect for any newcomer to Black Ops. If you want to work on accuracy with an Assault rifle, the Enfield is the gun to have!
There IS a difference, no matter how functional, between the red dot sight and the reflex sight. While zoom ranges are identical, the red dot sits lower on the weapon than the reflex, and could obscure your horizontal peripheral vision. It is therefore advised to use the reflex on wider weapons such as the M60. The red dot is thinner, however, and is better in any other situation.
*EDIT* This is also true for IR scope.
It also mentions something about the IR scope for the M16 raising the center speed, so I took an intelligent guess and played with it for a while (in player match, combat training has an increase in accuracy on guns) which is where I came to this conclusion.
I always preferred the dual mag option, but in black ops i always play SnD so reload times where not a problem in that regard, although i loved the iron sights on this rifle one of my fave guns on this game by far!!
I love your videos, They give great Info on the weapons and the're extremly well made, can you tell me how you do this videos, i mean the effects and all of that, cuz i was realy amazed by this sort of this!
i think he means listen to his bo2 weapon guides and compare them to this.when he says he used to talk quietly in the bo1 guides,he is also including this one.when he says now listen to him he is talking about the bo2 guides.
Yes I do. My preferred class: Enfield w/ Suppressor and Dual Mags Flak Jacket Warlord (SoH isn't needed with the .2 ADS speed) Marathon (I hate not being able to sprint long distances) Tomahawk, Concussions, C4. And I also spell correctly.
I want to hug you for calling it the XL64 and not the L85A1 like others
You want to hug someone over that? Lol

Super Mahilo
It adds visual recoil because the movement is magnified, but it shouldn't affect actual spread.
I've used (by force) an ACOG in real life (which isn't any of these sights or most of the other sights named ACOG in CoD games) and it doesn't increase recoil, and it's not noticeably heavy to the point of lowering it. It's just a balancing thing for this game. It's not a simulator.
There's no spread in this game.
Visual recoil is increased, but with low-recoil assault rifles, it's no problem.

He makes every gun looks beastly
These vids are more helpful than some military channel shows
It is! L85 and a LMG version is coming in June as a DLC all the L85 is, is a modern day Enfield!
i never get tired of his voice
love the way the enfield reloads !
I love these black ops 1 guides
I love the reference to the SAS motto at the end.
Great video, extremely well made, I just enjoyed the whole video experience
God how I wish this game could be peak again. I miss these times so much.
*EDIT* This is also true for IR scope.
Enfield FTW! By the way, XboxAhoy, I love these videos they are amazing and most likely the most interesting and useful videos for this game.
Anytime i see someone using a sight on the enfield i sigh, enfield has amazing irons. Supressor/Dual mags/extended mags best attachments imo
It also mentions something about the IR scope for the M16 raising the center speed, so I took an intelligent guess and played with it for a while (in player match, combat training has an increase in accuracy on guns) which is where I came to this conclusion.
Because of XboxAhoy, im using the enfield and dominating with its quick ads like crazy and eventually die from reloading
I always preferred the dual mag option, but in black ops i always play SnD so reload times where not a problem in that regard, although i loved the iron sights on this rifle one of my fave guns on this game by far!!
The Enfield is a great gun. I got it gold today. Amazing with dual / ext. Mags.
Yes I do. My preferred class:
Enfield w/ Suppressor and Dual Mags
Flak Jacket
Warlord (SoH isn't needed with the .2 ADS speed)
Marathon (I hate not being able to sprint long distances)
Tomahawk, Concussions, C4.
And I also spell correctly.
This is quality work, great job man
Keep it coming man, I love these vids.
Wow this class is superb I don't even have all the pro variants to the perks but Jesus 3.0 and better K/D twice when I started useing it thx man
i honestly used to use the exaxt same gun, attachments, and perks. great class.
There's 1 weakness without launchers as secondary:
*air-killstreaks*
i like the enfield with the acog sight it makes it look cool and i dont mind the recoil
Best class. Ghost, sleight of hand, marathon. Famas, 1911 or m72. Stun grenades, frags, claymore. Blackbird, chopper gunner , dogs.
