    Allan Houston before the injuries kicked in was a top notch 2 guard and nba player in general. Another little tid bit…this is #45 Jordan. He wasn’t in complete basketball shape yet, and he still played better than 85% of the opponents in that return after the first retirement.

    I love the comments I'm seeing about Houston here. I always have been a huge fan of his (cursed with the knick gene lol).
    It always irked me that people claimed he was made out of glass and stole knicks money. So far from the truth. Lets look at the facts.
    1. He had actually been amongst the leaders in most consecutive games played before injury. He had played i believe 200 plus before he got hurt.
    2. Patrick Ewing killed his development for years and he never complained. Houston came to NY in his prime. It was clear he was ready to be the man and the knicks just didn't adjust. They kept feeding Ewing who as much as I'm a fan, that kept Knicks from advancing in the later 90s. They had BETTER teams than 99 but they kept force feeding Ewing.
    3. He took a backseat to sprewell to let him shine. Knick fans constantly praised Spree and Im a fan of his. But Houston was more consistent. Its that Spree had the outward passion, the outward bravado NY loves. Houston in meantime was just as clutch and putting up almost same if not better numbers with less attempts. Spree was far better defender but Houston was never appreciated by Knick fans.
    4. Before he got hurt when he finally got the reins, he was killing it. He started playing in the post and burning people. He dropped 53 on Kobe and Lakers, dropped 50 on Doug Christie and another 50 on Bucks against Cassell and Allen. He was scoring career highs with huge efficiency.
    What do the Knicks do?? They give him Othella Harrington, Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley???!!!
    You try winning with that.

    • @danlora5599
      @danlora5599 2 года назад +2

      @@emersonssbb because the Knicks kept running the offense through Ewing till he left. They didn’t expand and let Allan go to work. Even Spree got most of the touches.

    How did this Detroit Piston team not make any noise in the 95 playoffs that year with Houston and Hill to go along with the old veterans of Dumars and Laimbeer that was still with the team at that point??!! Houston was a real sharpshooter and a definite score that had the prettiest jump shot beside Jordan and Miller as far as setting his feet, squaring his shoulders, form, consistency, release and elevation.

    • @Terror832
      @Terror832 3 года назад +8

      He’s at least a 25+ PPG scorer in today’s perimeter driven NBA
      His career high in 3PT attempts per game is 5.5. He’s shooting at least 8 of those per game in today’s NBA.
      And he can stroke them too at exactly 40%.
      But he wasn’t just an excellent shooter. He had a near complete offensive game. Athleticism, handles, back to basket, etc.
      But I will say this he was virtually non existent as a playmaker and even defender.
      He had a game where he had 37-0-0-0-0.
