Allan Houston before the injuries kicked in was a top notch 2 guard and nba player in general. Another little tid bit…this is #45 Jordan. He wasn’t in complete basketball shape yet, and he still played better than 85% of the opponents in that return after the first retirement.
I love the comments I'm seeing about Houston here. I always have been a huge fan of his (cursed with the knick gene lol). It always irked me that people claimed he was made out of glass and stole knicks money. So far from the truth. Lets look at the facts. 1. He had actually been amongst the leaders in most consecutive games played before injury. He had played i believe 200 plus before he got hurt. 2. Patrick Ewing killed his development for years and he never complained. Houston came to NY in his prime. It was clear he was ready to be the man and the knicks just didn't adjust. They kept feeding Ewing who as much as I'm a fan, that kept Knicks from advancing in the later 90s. They had BETTER teams than 99 but they kept force feeding Ewing. 3. He took a backseat to sprewell to let him shine. Knick fans constantly praised Spree and Im a fan of his. But Houston was more consistent. Its that Spree had the outward passion, the outward bravado NY loves. Houston in meantime was just as clutch and putting up almost same if not better numbers with less attempts. Spree was far better defender but Houston was never appreciated by Knick fans. 4. Before he got hurt when he finally got the reins, he was killing it. He started playing in the post and burning people. He dropped 53 on Kobe and Lakers, dropped 50 on Doug Christie and another 50 on Bucks against Cassell and Allen. He was scoring career highs with huge efficiency. What do the Knicks do?? They give him Othella Harrington, Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley???!!! You try winning with that.
@@emersonssbb because the Knicks kept running the offense through Ewing till he left. They didn’t expand and let Allan go to work. Even Spree got most of the touches.
the Pistons have gone through every phase in the last 25 years.....from a Physical Championship team in the early 90's.....to a Shooting team in the mid 90's......to the Grant Hill Show in the late 90's.....to a SUPER DEFENSIVE CHAMPION in the mid 2000's....and then theyve just been mediocre since then -____-
How did this Detroit Piston team not make any noise in the 95 playoffs that year with Houston and Hill to go along with the old veterans of Dumars and Laimbeer that was still with the team at that point??!! Houston was a real sharpshooter and a definite score that had the prettiest jump shot beside Jordan and Miller as far as setting his feet, squaring his shoulders, form, consistency, release and elevation.
#20 Allan Houston had one of the all time sweetest looking shot I've ever seen. Detroit should have signed A Houston and #33 Grant Hill to long term contracts
Imagine what Grant Hill & Allan Houston could've turned into. Can't blame Houston for leaving tho. NY threw $100mil at him if I remember correctly. You take that money & run, lol. Too bad for Grant tho....had to take more & more responsibility, and the pressure to lead the team to a playoff victory caused him to play on a bad ankle & make it worse...smh.
He’s at least a 25+ PPG scorer in today’s perimeter driven NBA His career high in 3PT attempts per game is 5.5. He’s shooting at least 8 of those per game in today’s NBA. And he can stroke them too at exactly 40%. But he wasn’t just an excellent shooter. He had a near complete offensive game. Athleticism, handles, back to basket, etc. But I will say this he was virtually non existent as a playmaker and even defender. He had a game where he had 37-0-0-0-0.
@@Terror832 yea he could score in every way possible, even in the post, but his defense (outside a few seasons with the knicks as an average defender at best) and playmaking (tho much like Melo, he COULD pass and was talented at it, just didnt do it enough)..
The COULD OFS, AND THE WOULD OFS AND SHOULD OFS of what might of been had they kept Houston and Hill together; they would of been the best tandem after the split of the Bulls in 98: both equally talented, young and competitive at that time.
Thanks for keeping this going on! Nice highlights. I hope you're finding some 1986/87 footage and preparing 02/03. Finally, you're getting more views and suscribers, just as you deserved! Also, I have a quick request! Rare game from 1995/96 season. MJ 27 pts againts the Sacramento Kings! (01.02.1996) And I have a good source for it! Here you have it! ruclips.net/video/JWWD66kumoc/видео.html If you can show his free throws and replays, it would be awesome. Thanks!
+Swishman Hey man, thank you for your undying support! But for this game, I have already posted it: ruclips.net/video/-oeAZHVhYGM/видео.html It is a MJ - Richmond duel but does include all MJ's field goals and free throws.
+MJ23 His Airness Forever Woww sorry!! I didn't noticed that one! Perfect thank you so much!! I think I'm only missing MJ highlights againts 76ers (16.01.1996) - 32 points. With this, I've watch that complete season from Jordan. Thank you so much for your dedication and interacting with suscribers!
Haven't you seen the highlights? he's very good with his left, almost every single game he has some circus shots, reverse layups and fadeways going to the left, in fact he loves his left side drive.
Professor X Ok. They force him to his left and then what?...I don't know if you are aware of this. But Michael Jordan is the most complete basketball player that has ever graced a court. You're talking as if they force him left like they're taking away something...LMAO!
Professor X Wow..you're so smart. You should coach a basketball team. You could be better than Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich "Force the GOAT to his left" wow....no one would ever come up with that strategy. You're the smartest person I've ever met. 😂😂😂😂😂
Allan Houston is 1 of the most underrated players ever. He was an absolute dog scoring the rock.
Chris Strong nobody made it look or seem easier

agree
its the typical knicks not being able to make the most use of their talent like always in their history. hopefully thibs and leon can do better
How can Ewing kill his development. Ewing was past his prime when Allan Houston came to Knicks.
@@emersonssbb because the Knicks kept running the offense through Ewing till he left. They didn’t expand and let Allan go to work. Even Spree got most of the touches.
@@danlora5599 That was still Ewing past his prime. That wasnt prime Ewing who averaged 28 PPG.We also had Spree past his prime.
I forgot how lethal the combination of Dumars and Houston was from downtown.
Original splash bros.. couldve been a great team.. dont know why they let houston go
@@scarykurapika100yago2 Duh he left for the money!
Allan Houston and Steve Smith are PURE shooters I admired even though I was a Bulls fan
I always loved the Grant Hill Allan Houston Combo. Houston's shooting complimenting Grant's penetration. Had always wished they stayed together.
Grant .....soft cowboy father having bama!!!! Stayed hurt!! Politics kept him in the league period!

Magic were better
#20 Allan Houston had one of the all time sweetest looking shot I've ever seen. Detroit should have signed A Houston and #33 Grant Hill to long term contracts
Allan Houston has great form on his jumpshot. I didn't really get to see that much if it because I was born in 96'
He reminds me of Bradley Beal
you mean bradley beal reminds you of houston

SLICENSLASH ny threw 156 million. At him first contract 56 then he got the buck
SLICENSLASH he got 56 mil for 7 years coming from detroit
Houston so underrated, Mike amazing as always
?
HOUSTON shot 3 s .....soft dude!!! JORDAN, A.I. and KOBE always in attack mode!
Learned about him through 2k all time teams
Oh Johnny Redd Kerr..if you could see the nba players now..double dribble
Allen is rocking a great shoes, Nike Flights was awesome.
Great rare game, Tnx!
Imagine Houston in today’s game?
If he was born 20 years later and never got injured? He’d keep up with Curry easily. Plus the height advantage would make him even better IMO.

Allan Houston was so smooth.
Houston was Klay Thompson before Klay.
Absolutely agree.
He and Sprewell were the Splash Brothers for the Knicks
No,it was klay copied Houston
Sloan Jackson facts people forgot he could score of a lot of isolation plays
No.... Houston was Better. More complete as a Standalone player and was 2-way
Allan Houston could've been a Hall of Famer had he stayed healthy
This was so perfect to watch.🔥
4:23 houston on MJ!
Great form he's got
Man I forgot how The Bulls were such a well oiled machine. This wasn't even one of their great years. No one covered Will Perdue!
Michael Jordan was the best palyer in that game. I just can't believe what i just saw. What a mental toughness.
This was 🏀!!!
Allen Houston……. Underrated
Allan had great form.

Wow grant hill joe and Houston 😳
5:00 Forgot about Will Perdue out there lmao 🤣 we all did lol
Hey can you upload that game when Luke Walton dropped 50 on the 04 Pistons?
bjsw534 Man Luke Walton has never scored 50pts in an NBA game. WTF are you talking about?...
bjsw534
hahahaha
anybody noticed GOAT playing with number 45
GOLDEN ERA UNDERGROUND HIP HOP smh
Sick action grant let Houston get away with
Allan Houston is my dad’s friend so I vote Allan Houston
Houston almost a same level of Klay Thompson. Houston is better on consistency and defense. Klay is better on consistency.
More like Jayson Tatum
ALAN HOUSTON 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
MJ was the superior player but Houston was lights out!
Jordan doesn't have anything on me lil so so real basketball player
His battles with Isaiah Thomas in 89 and 90
Jordan did get away with a double dribble

I played sega game 96 basketball
This is the season they moved in the 3 line
Prob a different game of pippen was playing
Why they traded Houston anyway
wheres Pippen?
i hated when the pistons traded Allen Houston to the knicks... Houston and hill was a upcoming duo.
Benedict Arnold ass Allan Houston messed up the Pistons dynasty's🤦🏿♂️🙄. Still didn't get no championship ring 🤷🏿♂️
Houston was wayyyy better on the knicks
His midrange is wet

Houston and Hill. Two very big "what ifs" before the injuries
