It's so funny seeing people cry over duo Lyon getting hard countered when I'm just like
"Your character ruined an entire game mode and has the most toxic skill in the game. It's about time we had this."
and even then it still doesn't counters the end turn status he inflicts
Now the question is.... what do we run to counter this? Chip and aoe is out of the question and good luck getting fatal smoke

V! Lyon found dead after introducing Breath of Life 4 with pre combat healing. I'm sure that Emblem Ike will love this skill and will become the god of omnitanks

V!Lyon is definitely something even without pre-combat damage. His end turn gimmick is still one of the most broken things in the game.
Can still end turn actions with his A skill, sweep effect for having more Res which will happen more often than not, cuts through half of damage reduction, his Duo skill hits the same row he's in with end turn action... Yeah he's plenty fine without the as combat begins damage.
If this game ever gets DC Echo, it's over...

... Well I mean Breath of Life 4 doesn't completely prevent the healing, but it still reduces the effectiveness of Breath of Life 4 by 50 percent. But I think that's good so units can still tank burn damage a few times.

Not only am I happy to see Edward, but pre-combat damage is one of the dumbest mechanics ever added. I am genuinely happy to see it get hard-countered like this
Seven years ago: grants atk+3 if there's an adjacent ally.
Today: FUCK IT, YOU REDUCE 90% OF DAMAGE AND GET 90% HEALTH POINTS BACK.

It sadly doesn’t stack with other instances of BoL 4. That being said, Arden can still heal a boatload of HP precombat damage since he’s got a hilariously high amount of HP
Finally a counter for Lyon.
Calling it right now, the next stages of power creep is pre combat damage being able to kill and then pre damage saviour to counter that
FEH, where the game basically starts and ends before the real battle.
Next month: T5 FS, which is Death Smoke/Haze, completely countering BOL4 with pre-combat Deep Wounds.

It probably counters it if a unit other than the tank has BoL4, but not if the unit has the skill themself.

I like this this new skill but also not a fan. Since i was worried they would completely nullify pre combat damage and i was right. Honestly liked the introduction of pre combat damage just didn't like how it was overturned on certain units. But now it means nothing since it's completely countered by this skill. Would have preferred a partial counter.
I was about to say that it's all fun and games until someone gives Duo Lyon fatal smoke 4, but then I remembered that breath of life 4 hard counters that as well.
You know, how does poison do anything at all in FeH because you can live forever if your breath is funky, they should just have henriette inherit it, or just have her smelling Mathew’s breath and she’ll be fine.
This works because Edward has high defence, right?
Fatal Smoke had to increase its value somehow.
BoL4 cuts Fatal Smoke's effects in half btw so it doesn't cancel the healing :)

I'm not sure what you mean by being like donnel (never got that far in awakening) but in-game edward's actually pretty fragile but if you train him up he can potentially become one of your better units, he kind of sucks on maniac mode though.
