I bought this paper and had a hard time with it lifting when I was trying to glaze. I ended up making it into a sketchbook for urban sketching and it’s great for that:) Beautiful painting of the bird! ❤
Annnnd I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fabriano Soft press paper! The texture is absolutely delicious (I can’t think of another word!) and I’m so glad I discovered it recently.
Hi! I had the same issue with lifting as well at first then it seemed to be fine. I’m excited to try the cold press out as well and see how that does. And a sketchbook is a grey idea
Same issue with lifting & when doing wet on wet “just doesn’t do” what Arches can!
Thanks for this. I rarely do any lifting anyway but do use Fabriano cold press and love that. It will be interesting to see how the two compare.
I just got a 10 sheet Baohong pack of cold pressed 300gsm paper, Got some 8th sheets cut on my rotatrim ready to paint today!

I love your accent Kat 😁. I love that you have simple supplies and use them well. I have a small Baohong cold press pad and it came with a little white plastic knife; you’re right they’re the perfect tool for removing the sheets of paper.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful process with us; always a joy to see people draw and paint in their own studios! I also love hearing the rain sounds and the gentle swishes and scratches of the work being done!

I have the same sketchbook (and also the cold press version). Love them. I particularly like the hot press for urban sketching out and about … and my pens of various types like it too. 😊 Thanks for the info.

Aw that’s great! I get nervous the rain would be too distracting but rainy days seem to always be the ones when I want to film!
Hi, Kat, like another said, came for the review... Your rain is in concert with my rain on my roof. Q: since I watched this over 2 days I might have missed something - - is there a peregrine shadow on your little painting? The dark one that was scrubbed, I see. But there's also one on the other side.
looks to me that she just didn't paint that one on the right and left it white. I think I saw it in her pencil sketch at the beginning.
Hi Mary, you’re correct. They were just doodles on the page since I was testing it out and wanted to try and see how the paper holds up to scrubbing.
Also, where do you get your soft press artistico?
I get mine in large sheets from Cheap Joes❤

@@katryalls6323 thanks, Kat! I was looking for its main listing to be "soft"! I put it in my cart, but wish it came in a block or sketchbook since I don't have a place for tearing. I've reached out to a friend to see if she wants to share an order to try it.
