- This is the first Direct Drive Helicopter I have had. If your not a stick pincher, this will make you a believer! I made some MOD's to the Transmitter and made the helicopter more visible as well, which also beefed up the landing gear. Here is a video of the comparison of the M2 and 180 by Alishanmao. • Eachine E180 Vs OMP M2... I was tired of waiting for no wind, so I decided to test it anyway in this small space. I am impressed so far with this Eachine 180 so stay tuned for more flights. To see the my original video of the Skylark EH-1 with electric tail rotor motor, click here. • 1st Production Electri... That little thing is awesome! Enjoy that bd gift Brother! On that note, Happy Birthday! Many more healthy ones for you and your beautiful Wife. God's Good Will to you Mr. Dave~John
Thanks so very much, John. We appreciate you. Stay well.
Happy Birthday Dave hope your day was great!!🎁🎈
It was and thanks so kindly!
Happy birthday!!! Eachine looks a good heli and good quality. so . nice present. Like learning about the old helis and how they evolve into what we have today. i am a thumb flyer lol.
Right on. This one will make you a pincher for sure. Thanks.
@@NightFlyyer what is the main reason for pinch style?
i know it might be preference but maybe extra control and without accidently pushing unwanted directions.
i noticed thumb is a little hard to go full stick on the rudder too. for me anyways. and i like my rates fast.
@@trashynoobgears5player48 Well, it is no big deal to those folks who fly airplanes that don't know much about rudder, so they don't use it much. But if your a strong rudder flyer, and a 3d Heli pilot, that left stick, which controls pitch, main rotor motor speed, plus tail rotor, it is too easy to "drop" the stick and it is impossible to get back, when flying inverted hover for example. So I began Pinch flying because I was flying in AMA pattern contests and you had to know how to use Rudder for them. But my Mentors and teachers were both Heli Nats champions back in the Day. That was John Simone Jr. and Mike Mas. They Pinch, plus I've watched lots of how the champs flew when I was learning and even today and you will see them mostly pinchers. You just have more control and if you use a sling, it is a piece of cake. I know it is hard to get used to, but once you do, you will never go back. Thanks and happy flying.
@@NightFlyyer thanks for the input. yea I see alot of people flying pinch in videos.
Thanks Again!!
Amazing seeing that old esc and no gyro! Legend!
Thanks. Yes. I had them till the fire destroyed everything, but at least I still have the videos of the prototype I sent to Japan flying with the ETRM. Thanks again.
Dave, I am among your earliest subs and have been watching you for years. Your RC aircraft videos are THE best on RUclips. Bar none. Thanks for teaching us so much.
Thanks so very kindly for that and know, I truly appreciate you! Stay well and Happy Flying!

Happy Birthday, and I would love this Heli, but I have too many, lol
Thank you, but I think you can never have too many....LOL
I love my M2. This looks just as good, have fun with it!
Yes, they are cool. There are many differences, however. Thanks.
M2 is great! Hands down best micro made!

So very well done as allways and informative , I Love it , and great Flying thanks Dave.
Thanks so very much. I appreciate that, Dean.
happy 74th mr herbert!
Thanks very kindly!
You are getting older too my friend, just like me. But lets keep young at hearts and fly more RC. I am now moving to real life flights (Flying my Electric paramotor again) and nothing beats real flights and feel. keep them good videos coming and careful flying this little bugger. it bites hard if goes out of control indoors.
You're kind words are heartening. Thanks so kindly! You stay well and Fly easy! ~ Dave
@@NightFlyyer always welcome Dave. get to Paramotor flights. you will love it. RC is going to stay but we need new hobbies :)
@@alishanmao I had a friend when I lived off the Coast in S. California and he flew his quite a bit and I watched. Be careful. He did something on a landing and broke his arm. I, pushing 75, don't think that is for me, but I'll be watching you. Fly easy.
@@NightFlyyer Dave you see the irony, I broke my left talus bone in 4 pieces on an electric scooter accident, then I recently fractured 4 ribs, again on same electric scooter LOL. Never had any incident Thanks GOD flying Paramotors or paragliders. most of my friends after hearing about my injuries told me stop flying and I told them LOL no, I must stop riding maybe. For old is gold people likes us LOL, we need para-trikes and i am working on a design and build soon. Stay safe buddy.
@@alishanmao I do, I do! Gee. Should I call you Mr. No Fear? LOL. Take care and be safe.
Happy belated birthday Dave! Hope you guys are staying young at heart. :) PS... nice flying - I would have probably been replacing some drywall if that were me flying it. LOL
Thanks a lot Jason. Yes, this thing really spins up, and me being shakey these days, I was holding my breath. LOL. Thanks again and Happy Easter to you all.
@@NightFlyyer Happy Easter to you guys too! Thanks.
Very nice!! I got the OMP.
I've also been around since 2009 when you sold me an ESKY Hunter.
My first RC anything.

Right on!
Wow! Look at that head speed! Yeah, it’s gonna “really rip” alright, right outta sight in NO time! Good thing you put floats on it because you’ll lose sight of it real quick if you’re not too careful. It looks really smooth too, can’t wait to see you fly it outdoors. I haven’t been able to fly all week, it’s been way too windy (even by Sibley standards!) and rainy on BOTH ends of my trucking route. Good weather should be coming next week. Semper Fi sir.
Thanks a lot Scott. It’s snowing here now. Lots of laughs. Semper Fi.
Ohh I should have just went with the 4 battery Version. Those things just fly right out of the box I did however tweaked my Stabilization back a bit.
Also I honestly miss seeing your Pitts Fly, I will be mentioning your Pitts on my Channel when I start building my Small Foam board Pitts by nextweek.
Right on. I just built a foam board Aeromaster bipe. Maybe you saw that one from a couple of weeks ago. I think the pitch is a bit touchy in 3d, but I won't know till I try some inverted stuff outside with no walls. Happy flying and thanks.
I ordered the V2 version about a week ago. Cant wait!
Right on. Enjoy it.
It's great ta see you flying again.
I have its sister helicopter: The OMPHOBBY M2 V2, & that little bird punches well & truly above her weight. Even gives both my T-Rex 500 ESP 3G & my Kraken 700 KSE a run for their money.
Well, I make a video once a week and usually it is flying, but of course slower in the winter. I can't wait to get it outside and try it, but weather here in upper Midwest is looking pretty lousey, at least for another 2 weeks. I looked to see your M2 video, but didn't see it. Thanks and happy flying.
@@NightFlyyer Yeha. I lost the vibe for making RUclips videos quite some years ago due to depression, & what little content I had on my channel, I took every video down. I used to have videos of me flying my T-Rex 500 ESP 3G at night.
Now, that I'm finally getting fiber internet in my area, I'll finally be able to get back into making content for my channel, after nearly 8 years without any form of internet.
Here's ta hoping for a break in the weather, on your end. =^/.^=
Hey! Dave good to see you back into video mode. I was looking into one of these, or the OMP v1. I am going to make up my mind soon. Great content!!!
After watching Alishamnao's video of the comparison, is why I chose the 180. Here's the link. ruclips.net/video/dUTYHD1f3A8/видео.html Happy flying, Don and thanks.
That si a great machine , I have a Omphobby M2 and I can asure You that You Will fly 3d with the 180 perfectly
I appreciate that and we will see. I just hate 27 the mph winds for test flying. They hamper my smoothness, but do cover my shakiness. LOL. Thanks kindly.
Great to see you Back Just so happen I got one for my 66th Birthday as well haven't flown it yet waiting on a good day been windy here in Texas as well, just to ask how the feathering shaft was they well lube ?
I didnt know I was gone! I try to post a video about once a week. Well I didn't take anything apart, so don't know about the lube. So far, so good. I thing the Earth must be spinning faster or something, cause the wind this winter and spring has been brutal. Thanks and I hope you have good flying with yours as well. Thanks much.
They are pretty nice,, the only reason I don't fly them over omp is the parts factor. live in America it takes longer to get parts unless you can find a vender on eBay,,plus omp parts are cheaper..but never the less I actually think they look and some of them handle just as good if not better...I love my xk stuff too
Right on. Well, who needs parts? LOL. I bought the spare just in case and still haven't been able to fly them, as weather up here is still pretty lousy. Thanks and happy flying.
Curious if the maker of this video has found screws that will hold the upper arms in place. Can't find replacments of it on banggood
Well, I havent crashed it....yet. I will keep a lookout tho. Thanks.
What Helicopter & Transmitter would you recommend for a new user?
Well, there are several that are great. Start with at least a 6 channel radio. I prefer the DSMX2 stuff like ORX or Spektrum, but keep it simple. You might like this Esky, but maybe if you are brand new pilot, get a counter rotating helicopter first and practice on a sim. Check this out. The ultimate beginners helicopter? ruclips.net/video/fu-v27iTygg/видео.html
Dave where do you get your floats, i really like that idea for so many reasons. Best i can find is foam pipe insulation but its not ideal amd not as neat as youre set up. Thanks!
For my small helis, like in my 1 bladed version of this heli, ruclips.net/video/HLSgvFsZtk0/видео.html , I use foam paint rollers. They are easily painted, are light and tough, plus raise the tail rotor off the ground and make it much easier for these 76 year old eyes to see. Happy flying and thanks for commenting.
Where did you buy those foam runner protectors or did you make them? They look great.
They are foam paint rollers. They work great too. Thanks.
@@NightFlyyer
Ingenious, definitely will get some. Thank you for responding.
Eachine copied OMP, there is a reason for the price difference on the OMP as it’s a far better heli. The e180 is okay but the M2 is far better and well worth every penny!
That is a bold statement to make, so I assume you own both, to compare, but I see no videos on you channel? There are big differences, including servo layout, motor sizes, and the 180 has more power. If you check the video of my friend Alishanmao, he compares the 2 and why I wound up with the 180. ruclips.net/video/dUTYHD1f3A8/видео.html
@@NightFlyyer Yes I did own both, E180 is gone as soon as I got the M2! The 180 definitely don’t have more power then the M2 the 180 bogs where the M2 just takes it! I would gladly pay the little extra for the M2. Oh yeah! M2 has a adjustable FBL unit where the E180 just had pots. The 180 is not bad but M2 beats it. There is no videos because this is not my hobby channel. Westhobbiesrc is my channel. I can fly a heli a little bit.
@@NightFlyyer also remember the E180 is a copy of the M2, eachine copied OMP. OMP is the one to bring the DD small helis to market first and been around a while.
@@jeffwest5080 Yes, since 2019 as I recall. I guess it took a year for them to at least copy the idea. I have seen bigger direct drive helis from way back, so not a new idea. When I sold my NOTAR idea and this ETRM idea to Kyosho in Japan, we patented it and they paid me, but as you know China copied everything after that, so not surprised. Happy flying.
I am also a tinker builder. I detect your rotor head speed at 5500 RPM in 6G mode with my android phone's gString musical tuning App. My test FPV with terminal speed adrenaline diving, with videos, shows that 3000 RPM is enough control for 250-gram crafts. The problem with high RPM products is that crash destructions scare FPV people off from helicopters. I have videos with 2600 RPM doing termial velocity vertical dives and crashes and picked up and fly again like nothing happened.
The problem with foreign manufacturing is that they are single minded to survive the market and single minded in adding things instead of thinking about what the bare minima and optima of things. When they want stability, they just add RPM until the motor nearly explodes.
Sir can u share ur email id i want to.learn about hel
