As someone who used to work at a pickle store I think I know the difference you are experiencing. Polish and German pickles are usually lacto fermented while the American pickles are done in a vinegar solution. So salt water fermenting vs vinegar pickling. Very different experiences but I love both!

hi naomi, flower knows is a chinese brand and the foundation has 3 different shades as there is not much diversity in china + also people with tan skin still tend to use lighter foundation as it is the beauty standard, which i think really sucks but i just wanted to explain ! also the blush is supposed to give a 'glowing from the inside' look which is why it is blue, it's really trending in china rn! and also the contour is grey because very grey contour is the best for most chinese ppls undertones!
Doesn't mean other people with other shades shouldn't get to have a chance to buy the product.

I think the curler can be a safer option because you are less likely to touch the hot part or hold the hair in a weird way. So maybe for a teen or disabled person it could be super useful.

In my experience, a lot of Asian makeup products lean towards a softer feel for their eyeshadows so they’re not typically as pigmented as people are used to with Western/other makeup products. With the blush, maybe it’s their brush? I have stuff from their Mermaid Collection and I love it! Flower Knows’ lippies are my fave though and their packaging is to die for! So for me, who doesn’t wear much makeup anyway, I would buy just for the packaging 😂

@@Law-_ I wouldn’t be the best person to recommend vegan options because I haven’t had much vegan food. Honestly (this is more of a side) but you could just do some dumplings with rice and beans or (I think) our pumpkin soup is vegan.😅

The reason why FlowerKnows only has one shade of that foundation left is that they are discontinuing it. It’s apart of an older collection. They launched 3 shades for that foundation which is not inclusive. But their recent launch looks like they are trying to become more inclusive as they finally had a model with a darker complexion.
Most of cosmetic brands from asian country (especially Japanese and Korean) don't have colour option especially in base products. Still not inclusive unfortunately. In my opinion as a Japanese. Naomi well said👏

The 5 headed razor and the curler could be good accessibility tools for those who have limited energy, mobility, or strength! I feel like a lot of the time people don't realise the intended use for products. eg, that L shaped straw that went viral bc people thought it would reduce wrinkles or some bullshit like that, was designed and is used as an accessibility tool! ❤

as for the eyeshadows, those are lighter than my skintone. the blush is lighter than my skintone. i just wonder what dark skinned east asian girls feel and hope they've got options for base and eye products, cause i remember the feeling of buying a nice, pretty new palette, swatching them all, and barely seeing the darkest shade after building for half an hour.
edit - i'm using dark skinned in a relative way here. someone born in japan with my skin colour would, relatively speaking, be considered pretty dark skinned in comparison to idk, jpop idols and stuff lol. it's relative.

For the flower knows products, their targets are mostly East Asian people so their products may not reach western needs, for ex the blush shade that u chose was supposed to be a plumbing shade for the middle of your face, but at the same time give some color. As well as the contour shades, they are cool toned because it meets the Asians standards, we cannot use orange toned contours

I love that you tried flower knows! It's actually my favourite makeup brand. It's an Asian brand, so I think what they do best is the more natural makeup looks. I actually really love their eyeshadows, their more neutral palettes are my daily go-tos, as well as their lip tints.

Regarding flower knows: it’s an Asian brand so their products are very much catered to Asian beauty trends. Rather subtle make up, the glitter (which has been trending there for a while) and the blue blush (which is a recent trend I‘ve heard!)

My brother and i went to Yah Man when I was visiting him in Berlin and it was SO GOOD! It's owned and operated by a Jamaican woman -- if you have a chance to go in person, the restaurant is SO cute inside too! I'm Guyanese and it definitely hit the spot for bringing some of the Caribbean to Germany

I know im repeating what alot of people have said, but flower knows is a chinese brand, and is focused on the standards for china as well as east asian people, the make up its self is mainly used to do douyin make up looks, which are a light glittery make up looks. So with that knowledge, the products that she did use were not used correctly, such as the blush, and while the colour range in the foundation is very VERY small, keep in mind the brand is targeted towards east asian countries, i would also like to clarify thay i am not trying to creatr anything but just educating the people who now have a bad taste in their mouth towards the brand.

Flower Knows is a Chinese makeup brand, and while the main focus is the packaging, you have to keep in mind that the type of makeup, the style of makeup, and the products used in asian countries are VERY different then western brands and techniques. i reccomend anyone who wants to use an asian product heavily research the style and techniques used to have the best results :) theres tons of infulencers who make super useful videos about this subject!

Flower knows is a brand for Douyin/Chinese and Korean makeup, they don't usually use too bright and pigmented colors, it's the brand purpose be like this and because of that it's boring for you and may be boring for a lot of people.

I'm actually a huge lover of pickles. I remember when you got American pickles and said that before and the only thing I could think of was I absolutely needed to find German pickles. I finally found some and your right. There's something about the pickles from Germany it's like they're fresher and they don't taste artificial. I never thought I'd say that because I thought I loved my pickles until I tasted the barrel kind that's Imported here. They just wow... I can't even say how much better they are💜

I'm sure someone has said by now, but just in case. The blue blush is incredibly low saturation. It's not REALLY blue. It's like a white blue. And you don't use it in the same areas as traditional blush. It's basically just for brightening, so you use it in the space of your cheek below the inner corner of your eye, close to your nose. Then you gradient it out along the apple of your cheek with a higher saturation blush. I really like it, personally. But it is weird. And it isn't for everyone. They also make purple blushes with a similar level of very low saturation, so they're like white purple, in case that is more your flavor.
every time naomi tries the liquid glitter eyeshadow she says they are the prettiest liquid eyeshadow shes ever seen😂 even in the mystery makeup video i think😂 she said the same thing. The thing about flower knows is it's ran by Chinese lgbt couple Baozi and Hana. If you've seen the viral Yuri on ice cosplay couple. THIS IS THEM. They are truly amazing human beings and their makeup is ON POINT. They're not in the business because they are influencers or want to be, they don't care. This is simply their business. With baozis brain and Hanas beauty knowledge they DESTROY the world. They don't need validation from influencers nor do they actually care because they're not marketing it to get attention. This is just Hana and his love of pretty things and his obsession with being pretty and useful lol.
That's why flower knows got popular. ( I've been a fan since before the company existed and back when you couldn't get it outside China. And they only had one small collection. They truly are people WORTH promoting.)

@@TicklePickles101 i actually have brought this makeup brand, and to be honest it's pigmented, buildable, also very pretty. This makeup is very much catered for the douyin aesthetic. Not necessarily how Naomi typically does her makeup. To each their own, but for me personally i LOVE the brand, all the colors, theyre packaging is beautiful and it also feels very luxurious.the quality of the makeup IS FANTASTIC! Glitters are to die for!! Their liptints are wonderful and gives that perfect ombre lip that's very popular in Asian makeup looks.

I feel like Flower Knows definitely caters to a very specific demographic as their audience is mostly Chinese and East Asian, which means very different expectations to a lot of the more bold makeup looks in the west right now. That, and more of a focus on packaging as something to go with your outfits and home aesthetic instead of it just being packaging to hold the makeup. I keep meaning to buy some of their products when I have some more pennies because I love the colour range and desperately need a very cool, almost grey contour like the one shown here (I enjoy the vampire life). I 100% think they do need to have more diversity in foundations if they're going to make them - unfortunately limited (pale) shades is very common in a lot of East Asian beauty brands, but I hope this changes!
