I wrote “Something Inside” in 1995. Not only was this the last song I ever wrote, but it was the last song that “The Shadow” ever recorded. The recording was a very rough 2-track stereo recording that included only: an acoustic guitar, my vocals, and Vincent Scippa playing the drums. This was our first and only attempt to record and capture the song ideal, so that we could later make it into a finished recording.
In October 2022, after listening to the original 1995 recording, I decided that I wanted to try to finish the song using only Vincent’s original drum track, and to build a new production around it. After I was successfully able to remove only the drums, I then could start to work on giving the original “Shadow” song a new life.
In May 2023, the song entitled “Something Inside” was completed.
