Its insane to think you fought for a country that essentially does not exist anymore. Then, at your age, working two jobs to get by after what you sacrificed. God speed sir.
@@truth-Hurts375 Shut up you commie piece of shit. Rhodesia was far more prosperous than the shithole left behind. From the bread basket of africa to begging white farmers to come home
@@truth-Hurts375 No he still fought for his country! Irrespective of anything political he fought for Rhodesia against cross border raids by communist insurgents!
Three days ago I found your channel and I've watched every single one of your videos. No rapid edits, no flashy graphical embellishment, just a man talking to a camera and you have 12,400 people (me included) willingly hanging on for the next story. People crave this kind of quality of content and often don't even know it, it's almost a lost art. Well done, friend :)
Excellent story. Clear, wonderful memory. Vietnam vet here. Had a sentry dog on nighttime perimeter.. had no idea what I was doing. Could have benefited from you and Lofty!
I could sit and listen to your stories for hours and often do! I was once put on a team where two members had teams of their own. To solve the issue they both ran the team. Switching off every so often.
This is absolutely fascinating. I have to pause for tonight and can't wait to continue listening to this story. It even feels like the characters are fictive, like in a movie, possessing skills that no one in reality would have.
I was afraid you'd run out of stories, mate. For whatever reason, even with being subscribed, I'm not getting notifications - from you or any of my other subscriptions. I personally can't comprehend hunting and being hunted by an angry enemy.
You my dear Sir are by far the best war story teller ,better than any other ,so captivating a voice ,the very best on U TUBE watch them over and over, more please.A SA border war vet.
Sir, it's so, so good to hear your accounts again, it's been quite a while. I saved this one for Saturday evening as it would give me a better chance to appreciate your presentation. You will always have a grateful audience!
Great to see and hear from you again. Excellent to see you smile, when talking to us about Lofty. It is a fine thing when such men leave a pleasant lasting memory. Go safe.
Thank you for the story. The advice about switching sides when going around obstacles was one shared by the N.C.O.'s to us when I was in the reserves here in Canada. You are the only channel I have notifications on for. I subscribe to hundreds, but you don't post often but when you do I know I want to watch.
@@wildgrunt8489 It was left-wing, not really communist. There was some influences from communism in the beginning, but they chose to get some ideas from the running governments from the europe (i think), resulting in nationalist socialism. Now they are a leaning to a social democratic government, at least that what ZANU-PF is pointing for, i don't know very much off Zimbabwe politics.
Thankyou so much for sharing your stories with us, its odd but it almost feels like listening to my grandfather telling me stories. your content is amazing.
Thanks for posting another experience of you in the Sharp End . l must say I always sit down and make sure I am comfortable and not disturbed when I listen to your latest bulletin
ThankYou,, Your Sense of Humour is Greatly Appreciated. Life Should Be Enjoyed, not endured. Always Happy to Hear from You. Keep Well. More Power to You. Thanks again ! P.S. Keep’em coming ! 👌👍🤙
Have you considered setting up a Patreon? I would chip in each month to listen to these stories. I was born '82 in Zim but researching my history I've come to realise that I'm Rhodesian!
I know i was getting a bit worried sir. I was so happy to see a new video. Please stay well, we need your stories to help guide us through what may be a terrible time coming. Thank you so very much for sharing what you do. Scaramanga has become a warning word among my friends and i, if we see someone we wish to avoid, we say scaramanga and walk the other way. Lol. Goodday to you sir!
We are all SO glad that you are doing well!! Thankyou for taking the tome to make another video, you are a legend, Sir!! With honor and respect from USA. Take care of yourself.
Glad to see that you are well Five Romeo Romeo! I was getting worried, thinking about you and your channel the other day whilst looking at Rhodesian bush war pictures online. Thank you for the video, Lofty sounds like a true outdoorsman and soldier. Anyway, glad you are OK. Greetings from Scotland.
War brings out the best in good people. Nameless, yet memorable faces. Thank you for sharing and enjoy a few crates. I think you more than deserve them all.
Man, I seriously love listening to your stories of the Rhodesian bush war, its such a fascinating conflict in such an alien place its a shame that it often gets overlooked here in the USA. Most people in the USA never even knew that Rhodesia was a country at a point in time, hell, most of them probably don't even know that Zimbabwe is a place to be completely honest.
It's really great to see you back,I really enjoy hearing these stories,,and would really like to know if you, knew or even met my Dad,my Uncle and my cousin who were all in 5RR ☺
Very happy to hear your doing well, thank you for taking the time to make this video, quick question, Did you hear a lot of John Edmond in the bushwar? also, would you consider making a patreon account so that we may donate for this wonderful content!

He did NOT fought for his country...he for a political system to be kept in place....big difference.

We made Rhodesia great.... they made Zimbabwe ruins 😔😔😔😔
Man, did you saw how black people lived in Rhodesia? Thing aren't that better, but it never was good for black people.
@kinsmarts Well, they have gone from 0 to 0.1. Shit did not change very much, nationalism was their choice, bad choice.
