Guys on roof - why no mask?! Where is the safety! I cant believe its a professional fireteam im watching. This is insane! Whoever is walking up that ladder to the roof should have a SCBA at the second he hit that ladder. Smoke is pouring in the face of these guys. I think the mentallity is totally wrong, and all safety measures are taken out. People will die of this. Maybe not in the fire, but from cancer.
Always seems to be a difficult to get water on the fire .... too much fire analysis, not enough hurry on water.... and hate to say it but "what ever happened to the calendar fireman ?" ... many seem to be on that find food and eat it diet.
because departments have dropped fitness requirements due to potential lawsuits. Great for the fireman and policeman because they can have a heart attack, stroke, knee, back problems due to weight and then claim it is work related and retire at 35 with full pay or close to it till they are 66.
I also LOVE the guy at 11:35 with NO gloves on and the eye protection shield is UP. I am wondering if this is a volunteer department? If not, this department is a DISASTER and IF they have a safety office at every fire, he/she should be fired.
Why are they not breaking through the door, running a hose inside and hitting the fire at its source instead of fighting their way through the smoke coming from the window? So much wrong here. Also 5 engines and not one ladder truck isn't a good assignment for a fire that is above ground level.
Maybe on the next fire they will try bringing the hose line inside and actually attack the fire. Oh yea, don't forget to charge the line first! Just say'n, thats how they taught us at the fire academy.
The vent was in coordination with a crew already working inside. The vent wasn't the problem, the problem was eating all that smoke for no reason, not to mention that smoke can ignite. They were right to vent the window, but wrong in how they did it.
What did the ff going up the right side to do some overhaul with a hose crew inside blasting water out the other window expect to accomplish? Great way to get blasted off the ladder!
Helmets off to the Harvey Fire Department. The quick actions saved the person's residence. Water was quickly established and a good knockdown was achieved. Please use your safety gear a little more. Stay Safe Brothers and Sisters. Staten Island, NY
Wow, did they think they had enough resources at this incident? I counted at least 6 departments on a fairly routine house fire. Good thing both floors weren’t involved, they would have called in a 5-11 response from Chicago.
I watch alot of videos likethis and they never tell us what caused the fire, I have to say this is one job I would never do, to dangerous, these guys seem to know what they are doing, otherwise they would be getting killed and many would never want to be a fire fighter, lol
Strategy and tactics were good, execution was poor when it comes to personal safety. Absolutely no reason to inhale that toxic smoke while venting that window.
if that fire flash its going to burn his face off not should be in front of that open space with no facepiece on
That's ok, then he can get disability payments and retire.
@@trvman1 That's if he survives the burns to his face & throat after inhaling the superheated air/smoke.

Hard to believe more not with smoke inhalation

Saving the foundation in Harvey
How did that House Fire start in the first place?
ok, it's vented.....put the wet stuff on the red stuff now.
Air packs suck. When filming , they hide your face. Deadly smoke be damned.
Todd, came upon this video while checking youtube.
At least the packs look good on your back.
I was thinking the same thing why isn’t the chief yelling at them to get those SCBA on
No no one wear masks@@debrabyrne7671
Get these guys some safety gear! And use it!
Real nice coverage as usual, Todd!! That firefighter on the latter pulling down the soffit at the peak of the roof wasn’t wearing gloves. Not good!!
Let's not forget the firefighters not using their SCBA'S
Love the whacker comments; Maybe some of yez should have been Cops 🤣🤣
Why even wear an airpack if your not going to use it? It's not there to look cool.
So sick and tired of seeing firefighters not using their proper PPE. Especially their SCBA'S.
And so another shitty plywood, plasterboard and duct tape house burns, what's wrong with good old fashioned bricks ?
Video starts fires out. Love them half videos, great job ???
So, where's the fire? Too much truck coverage in the beginning.
Nice video !

They had a charged hose to the rear, thats what put the fire out.

Always the keyboard critics. Looked like a good save. Who was the female EMT? Looked like a cute butt from a distance.
Well I don't need to share my opinion you said it all for me.
I don't know why where those heavy tanks on their backs, it's slowing them down.
That is so thy can you know...BREATHE
Gee they should waited longer to water on it

HOLY CRAP! SCBA mask but no hood! No secondary egress ladders! EVERY WINDOW LADDERED! No helmet strap! Damn!
"Not sure how I got Cancer Honey! Why do you ask?"
I am sure they will blame it's on the mayor of Chicago
If people would only STOP trying to do their own electrical work and hire a licensed electrician instead, this would NOT happen.
Please don't tell me that dispatching is done by a computer generated fake voice!?
Harvey doesn’t believe in SCBAs huh
