😳🤭😢 I was worried about the reverse too soon. Those are such beautiful planes, I must order one even though I’m a beginner pilot. The Draco could just sit in my living room as decoration until I’m confident enough with my carbon cub.
Wow you got to watch that reversing and it pitching the nose down. Tough break. I been flying mine on 3200 6s because thats all I had, but I got 2. 6 s 5000 batteries in the mail literally today. I'm going to fly mine! Like everyone who got one, I Iove this plane. Thanks Brian.

You should have seen it the other day. It was so strange...heavy rain, then the sunset was shooting THOUGH the clouds at the bottom of the horizon - Red and Orange, but ONLY where the sun was - so cool!
😲The crash 🥲I just started flying two days before Christmas of 2021 with the Unc turbo timber. I made a little upgrade to the carbon a Cessna 150t on 5000mah 4 cell 100c battery. I have mostly flown on safe minus the two times I didn’t wait see the Servos dance twice😬. Anyways, sorry for the crash, y’all looked sweet together in the air! Thanks for your channel as well! You have help build my confidence with rc planes. Draco is next
Amazing, seems like a couple of weeks ago You had a metre of snow an now Your all bronzed and soaking in Our Lords warm sunshine ripping it up. Awesome show, young Bloke held His own, aside from the last minute nose dive. Great show, crystal clear footage too. Unreal stuff.
Hi Brian, Hunter ("ICEMAN") and I ("BOMBER") watched the formation flight of "DRAGOS." Beautiful until the end. What a shame. Knowing you and watching you repair other planes, I know you probably had it repaired in no time and up in the air the next day. RICKEY PHILLIPS (BOMBER)

Since this is a flight video, I turned the sound off and watched it on my TV. Credit to the "camera man". This comment is for her. Great job keeping the two planes in view, especially as they separated! Do you use the two thumb approach to quickly react and keep them in zoom? Thanks for capturing his adventures!!
Megan says, "No, Not sure what this Two Thumbs method is.".... (I just yelled into the kitchen and she answered you, fyi...) Thanks! we'll look into the Two Thumbed Approach - hopefully we won't find anything we wouldn't want to see in front of Grandma ;)
She said she uses her Pointer and Middle Finger to control the zoom in flight. She's now using a vertical grip to accommodate the new "Shotgun Mic" and this thing holds the phone.
@@BrianPhillipsRC LOL. I'm sure Grandma would approve. It's just holding the phone like a video game controller and using your two thumbs on the screen to change your zoom focus. I remember that you use a phone. And while many other also use a phone , they don't zoom at all. So, you can't see the plane and appreciate what the pilot is actually doing. So thanks for the effort and quality.
Brian.Awesome formation flying. Zane makes a cool wing man. Looks like just a bit premature prop reverse. Oh my. I’m sure it’ll be back up in no time. Just got back from Pilot Ryan event in Mulberry, FL. They had a gaggle of Dracos there flying. Beautiful scale plane. Looks like the main gear is the weak point on this plane. I assisted Ryan on fixing his Draco. Luckily we had a nice fella that had spare parts he donated to Ryan to keep him flying. I’m sure there will be future updates or mods to help mitigate that issue. 👍👍
I've hit it just right a few times off camera, and it's something else! The whole suspension squats!!! So cool ;) I've screwed up way more thought.... I just didn't also hit a chunk of grass.
In alaska I was landing kingair 100s on a dirt 2500 or less foot runway. We would throw it in reverse at 50 feet and it would not go nearly that bad. Every video Ive seen on draco reversing in the air has ended mega bad. I wonder why.
It's the pitch down moment that's unavoidable. When you succumb to the hype....which you will...you can give us your two cents ;) DO IT - YOU KNOW YOU WANT ONE ;)
That plane is very brilliant and nice flying. With its short distance takeoff/landing and reverse capabilities. Its awesome. I've seen the real plane on a RUclips video and that RC counterpart handles exactly like real plane. You're pretty good playing with them things. Must be all the times playing with the simulator. 😁👍
On the weekend I was about to buy one used but I was too slow. But I think I´ll get one, great video! I hadn´t see this before, just your unboxing with that garden crash :S. Sorry for that final landing. He was coming very stable but somehow that reverso dropped the nose down :/ Thanks for your great videos! Next time catch the mouse :)
Brian, other videos of yours suggest you’re partial to aerobatics and daring low passes. The Draco is a plane to push some boundaries with, to try some new tricks. Recall that it was conceived and designed as the ultimate STOL bush plane, and intended to dominate the STOL competitions. My Draco is on order and when it comes I’ll be putting down a chalk line and getting a judge to mark my takeoff and landing distance. If I had a buddy, as you do, with a Draco, that’s what we’d focus on. I noticed your last landing was WAY FAST and you used reverse. Zane’s was WAY STEEP and nose low, and he used reverse while still airborne. The Wilga, and the Draco are intended to be landed High Alpha when the shortest possible landing is desired. Sure, you can flip it to reverse when you are down to shorten the roll, but to land High Alpha, keep the power in and the nose way high! I’ve been doing in in RF 9.5 with the Draco Safe + Reverse available on the forum and it works. You can get some amazing short landings with that approach. One more thing about the sim though, its treatment of reverse prop while airborne is totally unrealistic. You an flip to reverse and hit it when about 20 inches AGL and make a good landing with no ground roll. As you know from hitting reverse while airborne, (of course you’d do that...), as soon as you do the nose pitches down sharply. Maybe Zane got fooled by using the Sim. He proved what I suspected, you can’t get away with that on the model, or a full sized aircraft. This little video was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. Camera Crew, you shine! Excellent work behind that lens. Great job of keeping all that action in view. I love your videos for entertainment and instruction, my wife just comes for the laughs! Keep it up.
Thanks! Good luck with you're when it arrive. It's is a THRILL, and you'll love flying it, but keep in mind, it's heavy, and I'm pretty nice to my Draco compared to Zane ;)

I usually turn it on at about ground effect BUT keep the throttle at 0% so the prop tractors, and helps slow her down and transition to FULL on reverse thrust ;)
Not to worry, that looks like a job for some foam tac or foam safe hobby glue. Still some great flying nonetheless. It looks like the prop survived that, and if it did, that’s one high quality and durable prop.
That was fun to watch especially when y'all were flying the bowl Dang hated to see Zane bit the dust on the last landing Looked like he hit reverse a bit to early Bet he doesn't do that again lol Other than that he did great and he learned a lesson only lost a prop hell that's a good day Great job guys and a big thanks to Camera Crew for putting up with y'all hehe and doing a great job as always 🔥👍✌️
I definitely think you shouldn’t hit the reverse before touching down, unless you start high and make a very steep descent. I learned that lesson on the Night Timber X. Better case scenario than with Draco.😌 Great formation flight.👊🏻
Fun flying, good camera work. The crash didn't look too bad, even the prop looked intact from this angle. Looking at the footage at slow speed, you can see that after flaring, there was a little dip down again, and combined with the rough grass, it dug in. We've all been there and done that. Hey, it wouldn't be a Draco if it didn't crash now and then.
From a distance they look like predators surveying the ground below. Awesome video. Just getting my son into rc he’s 6. He still prefers smash up derby driving so I havnt put a flight controller into his hands yet. 😂
You guys crushed it with this video. Made me want to go out and fly mine! I think the 4 thumbs down are just jealous! Zane, buddy, don't sweat it. You're a great pilot, Caca Pasa.
Another great video. Brian, gotta ask Im having trouble finding anyone who really can tell me about the back order. If I order one through Horizon about how far out would I be looking before I it arrives? I was hoping you might have some inside info on the situation. Otherwise, I did find one a PNP (no battery) New of course but by the time I add the Lipo and charger the price goes much higher. Or maybe I should just bite the bullet ??? your thoughts?
Back order it if you want it. That's what I'd say. EVERYTHING is back ordered right now. It's not gonna be months, but it'll be weeks in most cases. They have containers coming NOW, and as they arrive, they ship stuff ASAP! They hate to store these BIG planes, so they want them off the container, and into the Fedex/UPS/DHL truck!
We do too! It's not something everyone will be able to do or do even if they could, but we've worked very hard to be able to make this happen, and now we're enjoying the fruit of our labor.
I thought it was tough a couple times, but that's when you just announce what you're doing to make sure the "other" guy doesn't pull up and you push down, but like Zane said, it's not super hard.
Ok Brian this was cool. Good job camera crew video looks good. Just a question Brian I was looking for your video in reference to your battery charging system. What's the date on it. I'm just getting started in rc stuff and know nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
My first car was a '78 Ford Faimont Futura that I paid $200 bucks for so yeah, this plane is three times that much LOL. I don't care. I still want one! :)
Nice! I’d love to fly with you Brian 😉. Depending on where you live? How’s the Starlink WiFi 😁? Poor poor draco. 😢that crash... that’s gotta suck. Hope it gets fixed!!
Very good! Loving it, and now that we're getting caught up from that an a repair to the tractor this week, we're about to get some NEW plane footage coming ASAP!!!
Second crash video I’ve seen of Draco, it seems to be a trend now - I’m still waiting for mine to arrive, I won’t be crashing mine, shipped here cost as much as a small car.. oh and I blame Spektrum
It's because he was screwing around. this plane is great, and it will tempt you to do the same, but if you don't push the limits too quick, you'll be able to enjoy it for a long time too come, BUT as you can see from the crash, it's heavy, powerful, and arguably unforgiving when it comes to slamming into the ground too hard...everything had a limit...the limit for the Draco is about 2-3 times further past most planes, but when you get there, the threshold for damage is very immediate.
@@BrianPhillipsRC that's a thorough and thoughtful response and critique of the airplane. I'll keep it in mind but I haven't crashed in years (touch wood) because I fly RC like I fly full size, preflights, pattern work, no unnecessary maneuvering etc. I guess one has to get what one wants from the hobby, for me, it's serious and cautious, for others it's replaceable fun.
@Zane Lathrum I was told doubting the model, just wondering why people are crashing but I see what you did there - woulda been cool if you pulled it off - hope you got it sorted - the repair would make a good video no?

Brian, on another note, you’ve mentioned many times in your videos about having your son fly some of these planes so I was curious what age he is? Also I wanted to ask you, when you first started flying planes did you use a simulator and if so, did you use it a lot until you felt confident, or hardly at all or none or...? Lol looking forward to your reply
My son was about 6 when he started dabbling, but it was with a terrible option for a first plane....the Duet. He's been flying ever since, but flies a lot less frequently than me. He likes to use a simulator to help build his confidence. I don't use the simulator much, but many do. I'd prefer to use simple planes in calm weather to practice, and do it a LOT. Simulators for me are for fun, but not used like many use them. That's not to say this is normal...it is a bit unusual.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Interesting! Thank you for the reply. I’m two months into RC planes now and have yet to fly on experienced mode more than a few seconds at a time, other than on a simulator but my plan is to buy the Habu in the near future and I will use your link. I used your link a couple weeks ago to buy the OMP S720 and a week later the T720. When I tried to checkout it wouldn’t let me go to the next step. I backed out and followed the link again and it did it again. It’s hard to explain it but it felt like it wasn’t a smooth process to checkout and still be in your link? After a couple times of this I tried purchasing a different way by looking for that plane using their search bar. If that happens when I go to purchase the Habu with Horizon I will wait until I talk to you to make sure it’s giving your channel the credit
He did reverse a bit too early, I think too. He's a good enough pilot, but pretty impulsive :) I think he wanted to show off for the cameras (and his hero - LOL!!! - I'm making fun of me, if it weren't clear...I know YOU know, but other readers might not get it) but I was super bummed for him. It sucks to break stuff. We just had to fix our tractor since a TREE jumped out from NOWHERE and broke what would have been a $1,300 part - ouch...luckily, Mother Nature grossly underestimated my cheapness, and it's now fixed for about $50ish and a little TLC and help from the camera crew - we'll post this too.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I Like that (Mother Nature grossly underestimated my cheapness) I have to use that. I guess we all silly at some point with flying, and pay the price. Still an epic video. You need to get rid of those jumping trees👍🏻Have a great day.
It can, but when you're flying, it's strangely easy to tell apart which plane is "yours". Gotta keep in mind, I can move it and see the feedback, but you, as a viewer can't see that "Feedback"
these planes are not that great. however they are cool and have some really cool features. They are a bit goofy to land mainly because they are heavy. over hyped and a little over priced but i still like it.
ho yes Brian ! you just make my day ! hope they don't get to much damages ! that's was so nice to see the blues brothers in the sky ! thanks for that moment ! ✈✈✈💤💙👍
Reverse on this plane and any STOL plane is ridiculous and not needed. Seems like another gimmick for people to buy this expensive plane. I understand all the hype about the super detail but you don't see most of it while flying and it's not like I'm putting it in my front house window for display. Great detail at a great cost and they're starting to find many problems with it already.

Ohhhhh yeah!
I definitely think you shouldn’t hit the reverse before touching down, unless you start high and make a very steep descent. I learned that lesson on the Night Timber X. Better case scenario than with Draco.😌 Great formation flight.👊🏻
Thanks! It's a fun tool!
Yep - if you're not making a mistake once in a while, you aren't doing much of anything ;) Still a bummer to rough up such a beauty.
nice job guys
Thanks!
From a distance they look like predators surveying the ground below. Awesome video. Just getting my son into rc he’s 6. He still prefers smash up derby driving so I havnt put a flight controller into his hands yet. 😂
Very cool
Wow I hope not bad damage nice formation flight 👍
Me too, thanks!
I was waiting for a mid air crash. Sorry about that. Was still a great video
So was I - no joke!!!!
Great job.
Thanks!
You guys crushed it with this video. Made me want to go out and fly mine! I think the 4 thumbs down are just jealous! Zane, buddy, don't sweat it. You're a great pilot, Caca Pasa.
Thanks Capn Pete!
What a cool plane
Fantastic flying and camera work. Kindly share the camera and lens your lovely supportive partner used to film this video. Thanks.
Thank you, I will - She does a very nice job!!!
I love how you can fly right out of your front door. Keep it up Brian
We do too! It's not something everyone will be able to do or do even if they could, but we've worked very hard to be able to make this happen, and now we're enjoying the fruit of our labor.
How do you NOT lose track of which one you're flying?

Totally!!!
Oh dear bumpy ground ..
Oh yes...VERY bumpy. I need, SOOOOO badly, to top dress this whole area with about 20 loads of top soil, but not made it a priority for many reasons.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I know You know but the pane didn't so next step has gotta be fpv in a Draco please ill never get the chance eh?
If you fly sometimes you crash there is no other way. That looks fixable how bad is it?
Not sure yet. Zane's gonna let me know soon.
Now you got a new video to make ( a fix the plane video )
Not my plane - sorry ;)
Y’all need a 3rd Draco there for a Delta formation! *cough cough* 😂.
LOL
would this be a good first planen ?, i fly jets in dcs flight sim, i know its not the same but its flying....
Not in my opinion. Way too Expensive, and Way too big. There's a bunch of great choices.

We're here to help when and if you're ready to take the plunge...or if you're just still dabbling. Either way, thanks for being here with us Clinton!
What broke off?
Just the prop!!
Prop caught the ground, but we think the carbon fiber gear support broke??? Still waiting to hear from Zane.
@@BrianPhillipsRC just wondering where the week spots are. Draco was designed for rough landings, so just wondering if the gear held up. Couldn’t find the repair video on Zane’s channel.
Flair !
yes
Great formation guys 👍🏻did he reverse too early?
WOW
oh yeah
i don't think i ever cringed so hard in my life on that crash
It was a bummer, but all is well, Zane's Draco is back to 100%
Yeah I'll stick with NOT using the reverse thrust when I get mine lol....
Just don’t do it in the air and it’s okay haha it blanks out the tail when you use it in flight
Only if you don't set the LED's control to another knob or switch - I found that interesting too ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC huh? I was able to use reverse thrust and have the light controller
OMG I have to have one
DO IT!!!!
Draco bit.ly/3ttx3ix
Flying two similar planes, doesn’t create confusion?
It can, but when you're flying, it's strangely easy to tell apart which plane is "yours". Gotta keep in mind, I can move it and see the feedback, but you, as a viewer can't see that "Feedback"
Epic video 🤩 love it!!!! Zane took off on a date with Mrs Gorilla Glue 😂...love it! love it! love it! U guys are epic!!! Zane Big up!!!
That's about right!
these planes are not that great. however they are cool and have some really cool features. They are a bit goofy to land mainly because they are heavy. over hyped and a little over priced but i still like it.
If you really look into the plane and what it is and compare to other E-Flite Models, it’s the best on there lineup
You want one so bad! I can tell!!!
i have flown 5 batteries so far.
Wow that sucks! Hopefully the damage is minimum.
He's assessing the damage ;)
How did us afford that??? Its like 700 quid
How do we afford anything???
Flying two similar planes, you don’t get confused?
Not in this case. Zane and I are both fairly good pilots too, so that helps (not trying to "toot" our own horns, but we are decent pilots)
Oh no! Reverse a bit early.
Maybe a wee bit?
I wish I had a flying partner like you foreal . 🗣💪💯
Thanks!
I feel so bad for him.
It was a bummer, but he's all good now ;)
That did not qualify as a real crash. I was hoping for a nice mid air collision.
LOL
Ups,
United Parcel Service, or Good ups? ;)
👍
Thanks!
Flying is kind of like losing ones virginity.. Always better to do it others than to solo
LOL - Very nice!
for the price, i can paint my turbo timber red
LOL - That's one way ;) This plane is awesome, you GOTTA Fly one!
When he reversed it just before flare I cringed so hard 😂
yep, simple mistake, exacerbated by the position of the plane and the grass under it.
My heart stopped, just the thought of that happening to a 500$ airplane is horrible.
wilga
Yeah, sorry ;)
I hope it goes back together for ya. I'd be sick much like the time the wiend took away my lil turbo Timber. 🤑
I know Zane has it under control!
ho yes Brian ! you just make my day ! hope they don't get to much damages ! that's was so nice to see
the blues brothers in the sky ! thanks for that moment ! ✈✈✈💤💙👍
Thanks!
I like your videos ^^ 13:25 :/
Thanks ;) I felt bad for Zane!!!
So, you don't think it's cool that the plane has reverse thrust, JUST like the real plane had???
crashes dont matter when you gots plenty $$$$
That's one point of view - LOL
Ohhh Brian, Yeah @ 9:25 You Say They're Real Expensive Butt You Got Yours For FREE! Now I Understand Why You Are Soo Giddy In All Your Videos Since All Your Planes Are FREE Now For Like The Past Year+!? 🤣
Hey, doesn't stop my sack from getting caught in the barbwire ;)
Then Maybe You Need To Lift Your Sack Some! 🤣
He calls his wife "camera crew", how obnoxious.
That’s what she is, and she is really good at it!!! If your gonna hate go to someone else’s channel please 😇
It's only obnoxious since you aren't in the know... When you get in the know, you will feel differently.
