I’m getting a malu for my 18th birthday/graduation because at the age of 9 I told my mother(who also has a malu) that I would get one to embrace my culture, my last name, my family, my people. My mother was one of the first to get the malu because my grandpa(faifeau at the time) didn’t believe she could handle the pain and felt like she can’t withhold what comes with it. He told her that she shouldn’t get it and that her sister should(her sister didn’t get the malu). My family was in shock when they found she got one without them knowing. Now the women in my family are getting it, but only to show it off or because they think they’re cool or better than everyone else. My mom told me that she agreed with me to get a malu is because my grandpa was a faifeau and because my great grandmother also had one. Also, because she thinks that I can handle the pain and withhold the responsibilities that come with it.
Agree with everything ... except the equal pay argument, I feel you should get paid your worth. If your a female CEO of a company, you should get paid the same amount as a male CEO 100%. BUT when it comes to professional sport, it’s a different league and argument. Men are paid more because they draw the bigger crowd, generate more money and attract the bigger sponsors. I feel women’s sports should get more exposure and advertisements, but in professional sports I think you should get paid what your worth, female or male. Rhonda rousey was at one point the highest paid athlete in sport, She made more than males, because she brought in a bigger crowd. Not hating just my thoughts.
Love y’all so much lol Y’all bring so much laughter to my daily life. I think the way people gravitate towards negative rap is a very depressing reflection on our societies because this is the kind of content people are connecting to and what they’re finding their identity in because for some people, it’s their reality and it’s drenched in sex, drugs, and violence. In the US, it’s all too common to find Polynesian tattoos on people from other cultures, specifically Caucasians, who adorn Polynesian tattoos for the look and style instead of the history. Theres so many images of women here sexualizing Polynesian tattoos that’s incredibly offensive and a form of cultural appropriation. I don’t think you need to be able to speak the language necessarily but I think you should have knowledge and show respect towards the culture. By adorning Polynesian tattoos, you are representing the culture, not only with your skin, but with your attitude as well.
For the females getting paid the same as males topic. Yes in the work environment. But with sports its about business and if the girls sports were bringing in the same amount as mens sport then yes they should get paid the same but i feel like you need to make money to get money. And i think they need to give the girls a bigger platform like the mens so they are able to get televised and so everyone can see there talent.
I love this. We need a longer segment. How do you all feel about the way we conduct Fa'alavelaves? So expensive? Broke? Simple? Ok that's enough. Love from the south !!! BAMA ROLL TIDE!!!
Aye all yous talking the truth cause so many people are getting it just for the look and so they can show it off, but in our culture it is about becoming a mature and a grown-up male/female. But many are really taking advantage of it and showing it off. But imma just say it out loud, soigaimiti is not the name of the tattoo but it’s just something our ancestors called for a mans traditional tattoo but it’s actual name is TATAU but other people also call it Pe’a they are correct but it’s just called pe’a because of the look of the tattoo which is located at the back which looks like a Bat or known as Pea.And I hope many people know about the creation of the Tatau and the background of how we should all take our tattoos serious because it always tells a story.
Great new segment for you guys 👌🏽😊 Keep it up 😎 it's good to talk about these things to share different views & opinions & it's good to get it from Islanders as there's not many sharing like yous. 👏🏽 Ps. The beeping is from the smoke alarm that's indicating that the batteries need to change 😊 had to learn from experience & now I always know what it sounds like 😂
When Cj said : “if you’re 9 years old and you have social media, good on you” Everyone: “good on you” Jenny: “Hi” 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But great topics guys and totally agree with y’all especially with the Malu & Sogaimiki topic👌 WELL SAID GUYS👏❤️❤️❤️
Ka'i kele friends a Lolo ia 😂 definitely enjoyed watching this at my desk (committed 🤫😂) definitely agree with the malu/tatau, understand and believe in its meaning first before you get one. Loved the open discussion segment Drams Fam, looking forward to the next one 🌏💯

Love your videos guys.. On the equal pay to sports men and women..I think it would depend on how much money is generated from it and the type of sport. I think males get more pay cause they generate more income to the sport e.g Rugby and Soccer..the men's tournaments and leagues generate more money hence why they get paid more than the women. If the women's leagues generates more money..than pay will increase for the women. Love from Fiji💙💚💙💚

Equal pay in sports comes down to revenue. WNBA players get paid less than NBA players because the NBA makes more money than the WNBA.
