his album indigo was named as one of the third best hip hop album of 2022. and critics has praised his album and even called said that Indigo’ feels like a masterpiece with the potential to be remembered as a classic.
and it is right. RM loves to write music that keeps getting better the more times you hear it and that´s what happens with BTS and his solo work.

This song make me emotional every time. It’s such a beautiful song. Youjeen’s voice touch my heart and RM lyrics are top tier. For me, it’s a masterpiece and my favorite song from RM.

@15:00- thank you so much for saying that about RM. I had a similar thought the other day when watching something of Taylor Swift. She’s definitely talented in various areas of music, but her songs are mostly on the topic of romantic love. Whereas BTS or RM really does delve into the whole aspect of life at different stages. In the fandom RM definitely gets his proper recognition about his lyrics, but I agree he should definitely get the global recognition also.
Flower Works is from his latest Indigo album that he said is a reflection of his 20s (since he will soon turn 30).
Now that you’ve seen Flower Works, please also check out WINTER FLOWER which is my all time favorite RM collab with Younha. Smoke Sprite with So!Yoon! Smoke Sprite is recent and mostly in English.

rm has always had a way with words, but this song is one of my favourite songs, lyrically, ever. i don't think that he's downplaying his talent and accomplishments in these lyrics, but rather i think this is simply his truth. he's been in this hectic industry for so long, and he LOVES music, but when you get too high, you start to get scared. there's a bittersweet feeling to reaching your dreams, because as humans we always want to keep going forward in a certain direction to reach our dreams, but nobody talks about what you do after you reach that destination. that's probably because most people didn't dream as big as he did, and not many people have reached the heights that he's reached. we often learn from those who come before us (like a parent teaching a child how to navigate the world), but nobody's walked this path before they did. there's a certain fear associated with that unknown, and i think he wants to come back down sometimes to enjoy normalcy, which most of us take for granted. either way, this song is masterfully written and i really appreciate that you touched on his skills as a songwriter. i think the west has trouble with recognizing bts members as songwriters in general (not among army, but the general population). i also think that modern music mostly covers topics of romantic love/relationships and sex, and we have come to perceive it as deep and relatable, which there's nothing wrong with, but it always throws off the general population when they find out the various topics that bts writes about because they draw inspiration from things most of us haven't really thought about in depth (lyrics based on literature, societal commentary, etc). this is also combined with the fact that they are indeed positive, but never cross the boundary of being overly positive in a toxic way. they consistently speak their truth - the good and the bad, and share complex commentaries about various topics. personally, i think that's what sets them apart from other top artists and to me, rm is the single best songwriter i have ever come across.

I completely agree with you that RM is one I’d the best lyricist and should be recognized! This song broke my heart and wished also that he no longer feels this way😢. I used to be more beat based music listener but changed because of BTS and IU who are my two favorite SK artist since their song touches my heart and they make music based on what they want to say rather than trying to just sell the albums and for popularity 💜💙

    Brilliant song! Goosebumps for sure.
In addition to all your reflections, I think it’s important to remember that even though this is his feelings and thoughts, you always have parallell feelings. This is a part of his experience as a very busy artist, and it’s not strange that it is overwhelming and feels like a "shackle". I also think that it’s not that he’s underrated but that he feels like he’s overrated. The pressure to be this perfect artist, poet, leader, speaker and so on must be immense pressure for anyone, and he’s still a very young man. In that sense he probably feels he wants to be a "wildflower" with "no name", free from all the expectations.
I’m glad they got this pause to be themselves and with the freedom to do other things. The risk of getting burnt-out from the life they had is real. Several artists in Korea has committed suicide. 💔 And by the way... handsome men in Korea is called "flower boys"... I think flowerworks refers to BTS and their success. Pretty boys that spread a wonder of fireworks around the world. I’m a dork, I know.

I was in the same boat. I did well academically in high school, but I definitely worked my butt off to do that well. I just remember being so stressed out all the time studying so late and then waking up super early to study because I never felt prepared enough. I would get straight A's and my extended family especially were so quick to throw their opinions on what I should do even though I never asked for their input. I have an aunt who is a nurse and she would always tell me I should become an anesthetist. I had no desire to do anything in the medical field because I don't want to be responsible for something bad happening to someone else, I just get too emotional. I studied early childhood development at a community college because I liked working with kids. But after awhile I decided it wasn't for me, and I didn't know what to do. I also had really bad social anxiety so that made going to school even more difficult and my depression got really bad too. I got my associates and started to work. I'm in my 30's now and family still ask if I plan to go to back to school when they don't realize how hard it was for me mentally and I saw no point in throwing money for a degree I might not even use. My brother got a 4 year degree in a field completely unrelated to the job he currently works. I was also the kid that dreamt of growing up and one day getting married and having kids so I never really thought long term about a career because if I had had kids I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I still haven't found my passion but listening to BTS music and watching their content makes me more at peace.
