I do remember seeing this second sequel and thinking that the first sequel was entirely unnecessary. (An entire kill and fetch quest just to learn that there is something beyond the wall worth checking out. well duh.) This actually moves the larger plot forward. Shame they didn't finish it.
What exactly would the 4th movie have been about? I read the novel's plot synopsis and don't see how they stretch what comes after the 3rd movie to an entire movie, at least not without either making stuff up or being super boring.

I used to laugh when Four says "Mom?" when Naomi Watts comes out, but I realized that the actors really are far enough apart in age to be mother and son. Anyways, they did the cast dirty trying to move the sequel to television. Good on them they said no.

I recently re-read the first two books because I’d never read Allegiant. I haven’t seen the film yet because I wanted to read it first. I knew what happened at the end but not how they got there, but omg it took ages to get through it because it dragged. I actually really liked the first book and film though
