I did not change because a boundary was set. If we have to have boundaries then out relationship is unhealthy and shouldn't be. I changed because I'm healing and saw the truth, how deeply she loves me, I felt it and saw a new perspective that the cruelty was to heal me.
The other reason I changed was because I was healing and saw the flaws that I was making and that I needed to change to make her feel loved. The boundary made me reflect on my behavior and the state of our relationship and made me want to fix it. My side is not being portrayed, I was enduring what I thought and felt like was sheer abuse and the anger built up over the long length of time it went on. I understand why I was treated that way but I'm not being given forgiveness nor understood what I was going through. The trauma made me view her as my abuser. I'm deeply sorry but this isn't the whole story
I have apologized with sincerity and they have to decide if they are going to forgive and us move on into a new chapter. I would never be disloyal to her. What happened was not a desire to cheat. It was a response because I felt like she was betraying and rejecting me. I am sorry. It was wrong but I can be trusted. I'm extremely loyal. What I did was a trauma response. I was trying to get her to stop hurting me as I thoughtshe was betraying me.
