It is believed to be the present age, which is full of conflict and sin.The "Kali" of Kali Yuga means 'strife", "discord, "quarrel", or "contention" and Kali Yuga is associated with the demon Kali (not to be confused with the goddess kali). According to Puranic sources, Krishna leaves the earth marked the end of Dvapara Yuga and the start of Kali Yuga, which is dated to 17/18 February 3102 BCE Lasting for 432,000 years (1,200 divine years), Kali Yuga began 5,124 years ago and has 426,876 years left as of 2023 CE. Kali Yuga will end in the year 428,899 CE and near the end of Kali Yuga, when virtues are at their worst, a cataclysm and a re-establishment of dharma occur to usher in the next cycle's Krita (Satya) Yuga, prophesied to occur by Kalki(ref-wiki)...and in this film, project k might be a scientific project that through which they may bring kalki earlier than the time that it should actually incarnate(by the end of kali yuga) to save the world from already existing evil and dark forces as we can see in the glimpse and the role of Ashwatthama, which is potrayed by Amitabh ji is actually cursed by Lord Sri Krishna that there won't be any death to him(Ashwatthama) and he has to live with blood and puss oozing out of his injuries which he had got in the Kurukshetra war (Mahabharata) where he had to surrender his MANI(GEM) which protects him from any injuries and gives him immense power and as a part of the curse, he will have neither any hospitality nor any accommodation; he will be in total isolation without any contact of physical communication from mankind and society. The wound caused by the removal of this gem on his forehead will not heal, and his body will suffer from a host of incurable diseases forming sores and ulcers that would never heal for 1000's of years. That's the reason Amitabh ji is shown in bandages which covers his wounds and forehead and as per puranas both kalki and Ashwatthama will fight together as a team...
The VFX isn't completed they are still working and still a lot of post production work is there as Director said, They were in a hurry to release it on Comic con so they took their chance.
The director is NAG ASHWIN!! He directed two films one with Nani 😊 if you wanna checkout it's called "Yevade Subramanyam" and another is a biopic on a legendary actress "Savitri" named as "Mahanati"
