- Let me show you how we make one of the most delicious spring/summer cordials.
It tastes scrumptious and I am yet to find anyone who does not enjoy this summer drink.
t's easy to make, and good for you too, including great for coughs, sore throats and clearing catarrh, and if you love a little magic, Elderflower is said to allow you to see into the future!! Allow me to tell you what I see....I see you loving this beautiful old English Cordial. ENJOY :) x

I followed your recipe and...wow!!! I used more of the flowers because I had picked so many. I probably ended up using about 30-40 large umbrels of flower. Also, I used 6 teaspoons of citric acid powder, because I wasn’t sure what the metric equivalent was and didn’t want to overdo it. (50 gm= 10 teaspoons) The aroma and the flavor of this cordial is beautiful!!. Thank you!!

I didn't know elderflower grows on bushes! In my country I've only seen it grow on trees
I'm vegan too :-). I shake the flower heads over the plant so the bugs have a chance. Otherwise they starve really fast. Can't completely eradicate them but like you I like to save any animalia where I can :-)
I've got 3 flowers growing at the moment can't wait im very new to The elderberry flower. They are small and trying to figure out how to water them at the moment very nice video thank you for sharing
I've just made a batch. Really good recipe. Easy to follow and makes a better batch for me as I'm the only one drinking it.

Ingredients
-50g of Citric acid
-3 litres of water
-juice and zest of 4 unwaxed lemons
-1 kg of sugar
-a cordial full of elderflower

Just tried your recipe, every year I say I'm going to make it as my dad made it when we were kids, but never got round to it. Oh my it's beautiful! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤ BTW apparently pharmacies in England don't sell it, get it from a cake supply shop or I've been told wilko 's or brewing shop you will get it 😁

Is getting citric acid from the chemist the norm? I would have thought it would be available at a normal supermarket.
Amazon is the easiest place, but shopping local is better x
Is your nailvarnish vegan? Shellac is made from squished insects.
J B yes, vegan nail varnish by nailberry. (Think that was it, or similar, but def vegan) hope this helps.

I followed this recipe to make elderflower cordial for the first time. I used double the amounts of flowers that she required, and let it seep for 48 hours. Other recipes I had looked at used double the amount of sugar for the quantity of water, so I wonder if this will affect how long it keeps. It is a delicious amount of acidity though, very refreshing!

Would it be possible to do this but with oranges instead of lemons? Lemon makes me a bit queezy

Planning to maks this today. I did have to double check the amount of sugar, it seems excessive!! I guess you only use a drop of the cordil at a time. 🤷🏻♀️

Great video I'm going to try. I used to live in England 11 years and I fall in love with elderflower cordial. I have moved back to Poland and we have a lot of elderflower around so is a time to share with my love to the elderflower cordial with friends and family. what variety of elderflower is this ?
Just the UK common Elderflower found in most Hedgerows (Sambucus nigra). x
@@Bentonendflowerfarm thank you...there is a dark leafed variety also called Sambucus Nigra , that's why I asked...those flowers are pink
