    The cruelest thing you can do to wildlife is not manage it. I wish you and Australia the best. The government is headed down a black hole.

    Borumba and baroon are my two favorite dams, I remember years ago up borumba chasing toga listening to the reds roaring in the rut with stags all around us with the sound echoing off the hills was a spine tingling experience. loveya work clarky and look forward to your book, I went for a hunt with ted mitchell up around cressbrook a few weeks ago but fires and aerial culling has smashed the place.
    Cheers

    Your comment looks great, though a few small edits can make it flow better. Here's a slightly refined version:
    Fantastic video Clark! It truly reflects your passion and frustrations.
    Now is the time for all of us to make a stand at the upcoming elections and send a clear message to our politicians: the wanton slaughter and waste of this majestic animal will not be tolerated.
    The principles of humane, sensible, and sustainable herd management, as championed by you and the RIDGE Group, must be embraced and promoted by the elected government.

    Very interesting and informative article about a beautiful part of Australia. Spent enjoyable days with my lads fishing on the dam . Memorable times when we would spot a big stag at the waters edge. With the pine forests and prevalence of deer to us the area had a slight “ American” feel about it . Also spent time at the headwaters of amamoor creek in the deer farming / trapping days before the industry went bust. We’re plenty of wild red deer there then and problems with poachers. Since the demise of deer farming there would have been big increase of wild deer numbers from “ escapees ?” Etc from defunct deer farms. I understand a wapiti influence x farmed deer has increased trophy size heads. Re poaching etc you would know the silence of bow hunting has caused property owners serious problems . They sneak in nail a stag get the wife on a mobile phone and arrange a pickup with the trophy head on a nearby road.the landowner only realises what has happened when he spots the crows on the carcass.lot of quality stags valued by farmers are successfully killed by stealthy bow hunters in paddocks close to homesteads etc where a rifleman just couldn’t operate .its a great part of the country . Borumba , the Brisbane valley etc always enjoyed the deer roar etc .living in far North Queensland now and still miss the roar. As a point of interest wild deer numbers ( rusa) seem to be increasing significantly even to mid cape Yorke . Also significant numbers on parts Atherton tableland.anyway keep up the good work

    As from several years ago, SEQwater has engaged shooters at North Pine Dam, Lake Samsonvale. The reason they give is the deer damage fencing.

      Unless hunters come to the party, they will only be able to get in the back door. We stand proud, step up to the line and show we can take responsibility for our own actions. If we don't, we lose.

      See in Vic they want all deer to be classed as pests a new plague just like the rabbit here my place at the back of kirk wood in 80 zone counted 47 red dear had to do 40kmh. Big thing is all states never have the same rules goes for weapons as well.

    Listened to a podcast yesterday about the Sambar the amount of money they spent on that was crazy it was like $270 per deer it equals to. Instead of doing that if they let hunters do there thing legally its a huge tax saving plus they gov still make money from education and licence fees ect small towns get an economy boost . But instead govs like lets waste money use a chopper

      Go to the ridge website, study what we propose and you'll see we have a system which would allow exactly what you suggest..... however, Aussie hunters want it for free, provided "By our taxpayers $", which means, give it to Govt and expect them to look after us.... hasn't worked so far

    God dam y'all, we visited there last time i was in Aussie. Stunning place but didnt catch a fish or see any deer, just lots of signs warning of deer, etc. Those small mouth bass look interesting. Why don't y'all have tags for deer. Sounds quite lawless?

    • @robdodson8625
      @robdodson8625 Месяц назад +2

      No tags and no management program. Government treats them like cockraches and not the magnificent animals they are. This stems from a fixation on native only fauna. Our deer were introduced legally as a result of a gift from our Queen and subsequent work by acclimatization societies. Hunters have always known their value but the government won't come to the realisation that they are a fantastic asset. We are working to make sustainable use management of the deer possible.
