The OVAs are very underrated
There is a part of the ova which hasn’t been animated. It happened during all their training, basically before they all graduated. Though Annie remembered this moment when she was captured after Mikasa sliced through her fingers. Annie was in charge of food or wtv since she was chopping some potatoes, when Mikasa entered the room and closed the door behind her, they were alone in the kitchen. Mikasa took out Annie’s ring from her pocket saying Annie lost it during practice and “unlocked” this lil knife thing in her ring we all know. She asked Annie what she needed it for and Annie responded that is was for self Defense which Mikasa didn’t believe since we all know how well adept Annie is in hand to hand combat. She then said it was from her family so it was like something valuable to her. Mikasa eventually asked Annie was she is doing here in the military and it was just really tense and showed how smart Mikasa actually is. Love this duo
