@@gonzuzgamer6026 It's also different. Compare to Ghost of Tsushima, FF7r, Kena, DMC5. Those games have parry on impact. In Trek to Yomi the optimal parry window is before impact during the start of enemy attack animations. It's actually closer to a Souls parry in that regard. Only the window is wider. You can actually see a tiny flash on enemy weapons during their attacks, that's where the right moment to parry is.
@@JJOOKER lmao i have 100% all the ds games and let me tell you parries there consistent not like this game. This is unpolished and clunky dark souls is just spot on
For those on Playstation right before you go into this boss you can use the save data trick -> turn auto sync off in PS home save/data settings-> download console storage to your Cloud -> play the game and if you fuck up just download cloud memory into your storage. Rinse and repeat until beaten that way you dont have restart the whole 3 chapters like a mad man
@@locomojoboy2 balance is almost equal to fighting style in this case. Its mentioned indirectly several times. Its about clearing your mind of distractions and emotions and just being the weapon. Which is exactly what you need to do in order to deafeat him at the first opportunity. If they wanted to convey something different then it isnt told very good or i just missed it after 3 playthroughs
I was having a hard time killing him without getting hit even on easy i saw your comment i started holding instead of trying to time my push guess what i beat him first try with this tip LUL i did beat the game in ronin but i missed this pro tip
Kind of. After this cut scene, the credits roll and the game takes you back to the main menu. But in the menu you can press continue and the game takes you to the beginning of chapter 4 where the story continues the same way it would have if you lost to him.
Yeah you have to begin a new game if you lose to him. But if you take too much damage, you can press pause and go back to your last checkpoint, thus start the fight again. You can also make a backup save if you want to be safe.
Oh and as for how to beat him, there is a certain rhythm for when to parry his attacks. Once you get the rhythm down, it becomes easier. After parries I like to switch between punishing him with some strong strikes and normal counter hits. For the normal counters you have to press light attack immediately when the parry animation starts. This will help you save some stamina which is necessary since his hp is so big.
I enjoyed it's art direction and the audio-visual elements. As a fan of the old Kurosawan films it felt like a true love letter. The gameplay and combat especially was lackluster but the creation as a whole was very enjoyable to me.
This game has the weirdest parry system I've ever played
It feels a bit clunky, and the timing is different than in many similar games I agree, but I don't really mind it.
I would say weird its literally just as any other game its just clunky asf it feels like there is a pause after every movement that you do

I restarted the game just to find out this was the bad ending.

I played through the game 5 times to get this ending. Wish I had read this...
Sooo if you are too good and defeat the boss fair and square, with honor intact, but a little too early, thats the bad ending...allright then 🤔
Because you did not find the balance that you would had you trekked through yomi.

The Devs don't like you wasting their jobs just because you're op
eh he'll find something good he avenged his lost ones even if he was late atleast
I was so close to getting this ending, I’m glad im bad at the game lol
I love how they said tap to parry but when i hold i still parry. Keep in mind i played on hard mode hole game through
Yeah I played on ronin too in my first playthrough. Might not really matter if you tap or keep your finger on the block button if your timing is good.
Same 😂

I need some tips. He's kicking my ass
Edit: and of course I killed him immediately after posting the comment
Haha great for you 😄 he can be tough without perfecting the parry timing.
Does the game really end here if you beat him?

You re not supposed to defeat him in the fight why tha hell they would give you another chance ?

I kinda regret buying this game, I really thought I’d be having more fun and I’m not.
