I just picked up a DM two weeks ago too. Gonna do basically the same as you, just clean and reuse as much as possible. Hope it turns out to be a fun game, I've never seen or played one before.
That's a stiff price for chroming the handles. But the reality is that they had to be done to complete the game. Even if they make bruises when you're doing a shop job. The orange rubbers look good. You could paint the flipper bats to match the grey on the playfield and put those blue or black flipper rubbers. I've painted the bats before with much success.
Also, maybe the price reflects the disposal of nasty chemicals. Chrome playing as I understand it is very nasty and chemical waste must be disposed of properly and probably expensively.
That's my problem I justify spending it in my head with stuff like...well you spent 300 on the handles and 300 in boards.. what's another 60 or 200 bucks!? 😂..I might as well just replace that too! 😂😂
@pinballshenanigans That's how it's been on this Mata Hari I have been working on.. put the Hardtop on it and was like man now the plastics look like crap , get new plastics, we'll now the pop bumper bodies and skirts look like crap, might as well replace them.. well since ya got new plastics might as well get new posts.. well since you are rebuilding the pops might as well di the flippers and slingshots!...Complete one thing then add 2 more to the list... with the latest one being well the playfield is going to be all new might as well restencil the cabinet and powdercoat the armor and legs!...Now I just gotta have time to do it all!
yeah, I got some from there for my T2 and it was so bad… ended up making my own plastic. Scanned it, reverse printed and used a scroll saw to shape it. Cant tell its a repro.
Getting right down in the weeds with this game. Nice work on the playfield…I don’t understand why folks put black rubbers on a pinball game. When you see the horrible black filth that gets all over a playfield, why would anyone line up for more of the same?…I haven’t used Titan rubbers…I only use new fresh white ones. …. but then again, I’m an old fashioned guy. This game should scrub up real nice.
top tip. Use lacquer thinner top EASILY clean the flipper bats, targets and slingshot switches.
I will have to try that thanks!
I like the blue! lol love this table!
Blue posts do look good too!
Looking very nice. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
We Love Da Shenanigans!! 👍🙏

I love DM so hopefully you will too! Playing with the gun handles is the best!
i would put grey flipper rubbers
I have grey/metallic looking posts on my Harley pin and it looks great!
Looking schmick. Enjoying the journey back into the line up. How's Pez's over under going? I forgot.
Right on! Haha I think it was 7.5 so looking like we are going over :)

I agree. The whole game will be mint when finished so they should be done. Too bad the shop seemed a bit… meh.

@JeffreyNero-sk6jv Ya the chrome job was not great but hopefully it holds up
Oh cool, never thought to do that! Good tip!

Magnesium Thermite Laser
There it is!
Don’t buy pinball center plastics except you do not have any other choice….the print quality is mostly low end, not matching colors etc.
Good to know thanks!
I wanted to mention this as well, everything art related from them sucks…

Yep exactly! You see how black my TAF playfield was!
