Nice video.I was never interested in the GA-2100 until they came with Tough Solar and BT. I bought the yellow one.The buckle is not plastic (6:49). It''s IP coated metal. That's why is $10 more expensive than the others.
If the black Casioak had the lighter index's of the yellow one, if not bright white, I'd absolutely put it on my list. I consider the analog to be primary over the digital, and quick and easily decipherable time, regardless of time of day, is what I actually want from a watch. My GAS-100 is so blingy, that the LED makes it even worse, and if it had been available with white index's, I wouldn't be considering another watch because it only gains two seconds a month.
I agree about the indexes. I have the yellow 2100 and really like it. The black version has too dark indexes and hands which is boring. There is GA-2100-1AER model which has the same light grey indexes as the yellow, without tough solar though. I actually got both GA-2100-7AER and GA-2100-1AER and changed out the shells and straps between them with good result.
I can't wait to see your mod, I want to see how heavy it'll be and how it'll feel on wrist Also iirc, all of the Bluetooth CasiOaks have metal buckles except the blackout one, that one gets the short end of the stick with plastic haha
The metal kit I found on Amazon was from "Custom Oaks". The watch was originally about 52 grams on my kitchen scale but increased to 152 grams after the conversion. It's well balanced so it's still comfortable. And I think it looks great. I will post the video in a few days.
I wanted to get the black one but the good deal came on the yellow one. After I got it I came across the black one even cheaper. Such is life. I have a black strap on the yellow one so its a hybrid. The face on the yellow one is nicer and much easier to read because of the white number markers. Try swapping the bands around, you might dig it.
I agree completely. The yellow one was available for a few dollars less when I bought it and then, later, the black one was on sale for just a few hours one day. So I ended up with both of them. And after I did the metal conversion on the black one yesterday (the video will be released next week) I tried the black strap on the yellow one, which was a simple swap using those quick-release spring bars. You’re going to think I took your idea but I honestly thought of it on my own yesterday.
I have 2 GA-2100 watches in my collection. They are the earlier versions without the Solar/Bluetooth. One is the GA-2100SKE clear bezel/band with a black face and negative display. The other is the RUBIX CUBE version , the GAE-2100RC , also with the negative display.
Hey Greg (I'm also Greg), I have watched your channel for awhile and I just thought I'd stop by and let you know I finally ordered my grail Casioak... the black one with the positive display and the red mode marker thing. Solar and BT. :-) Noone will probably read this, but I am excited. Thanks.
I read it! Thanks. I aim to help, so I hope the watch meets your expectations. With me, I often find that the watches I see online seem to look even better in person. And, of course, wearing them is a lot more fun than wondering what it's like to wear them.
The 2100 series (like the squares) are incredibly addictive collecting wise. I think I’m up to about 18 of them now, three of which are solar/Bluetooth. Like I mentioned on your last casioak video I really wish they’d release a 2100 Solar with multi 6 and NO bluetooth. I’d really like a 2100 solar to be my everyday wear but since it has bluetooth i can’t wear it at work.
I found a kit from "Custom Oaks" on Amazon and I made the conversion today. Very easy and I could easily put the watch back to its original condition too. But I think the conversion looks great. I'll post the video in a few days.
Hello Mr. Anderson. I love your videos. I'm more of a Multiband6 fan and not Bluetooth. I did look at and think about purchasing the yellow square in this video as a fun summer option but decided to buy the GA-2110SU-9 since I found it on a great sale online :-) Quick question: Have you seen the Casio MWD-110H models? So far I've seen 3 variants that look really nice. I'm thinking about buying 1.
I have a “regular” (non-solar, non-Bluetooth) Casioak..I’m REALLY tempted to get this model, partly because of the positive digital display, which my Casioak DOESN’T have….
It must be white trim around the hands on the yellow, but they look bigger. I live the markers in the yellow. Just strongly dislike the black inked advertising all over the watch. But maybe a highlighter can tone down the black ink.
Hi, I have a question. When I sync my GA-B2100, it is off by 15 seconds compared to my G-Shock 5610. The difference is roughly 15 seconds. I believe the 5610 shows the correct time as it syncs with the atomic clock and syncs with the time on my cellphone. Any ideas on how to correctly sync the GA-B2100?? Thanks!
tough solar is perpetum mobile idea but mechanical parts in watches make their life time much less , they should make emulated analog screen in these watches ( like garmin do) that would be much more accurate for me
I have the black one, it's such a great piece of kit, I love it!
Do you find the charge if difficult? I keep reading getting to high is difficult
Is the Bluetooth spotty as I have read from a few reviews?

💯 agree. The back light in these two is a game changer.

Amazing coincidence, you posted this the day I finally ordered this watch!

Haha! You have to be a genius to work that one out. It's a simple swap.

I own black one.
Big minus for me is that these can’t show date and day of week at the same time
Yes, would rather have day of week and date in one view, instead of seconds.
True.
Only date, month and seconds

G'morning Greg ☕☕ 😇 . I think you are officially the biggest CasioTuber on the ol' Interweb 😋😋 ...
I have the yellow. Awesome watch!
Thanks for another great video! I wish they had a solar, radio time version. I can’t wear Bluetooth watches in some of the places I work.
If they release a Multiband 6 version I will definitely buy it… unless it’s some kind of super expensive, limited edition MR-G version.

may I ask why your work does not allow you to wear a watch with bluetooth connectivity?

Those two are outstanding watches, you guys need to check out the GA2100FT-8A, it's a great watch.
Looking forward to the mod. Thumbs up!

@@GoodTimekeeper Sweer, I'll look that up. Thanks for the info! You rock!

got both and the green solar... plus 3 ga 2100's
hello, is there any way to adjust the hour hand alone? Thank you
Is it possible to see both date and day of week AT THE SAME TIME on the display?

Can i remove seconds and put day like monday tuesday and in botton date and month
Anybody?
@@aaannkitSomeone who owns one commented above that it's not possible, unfortunately.
if there's no multiband 6 then what's the "RCVD" display for?
Bluetooth time sync
Great review. I have the yellow one. Do u have a link to where u got the metal bezel and strap mod? Very addicting watches. I love the solar function.
This is the item I bought. a.co/d/eqblsSN

Die gelbe hatte ich auch. Aber die sah aus wie eine Spielzeug Uhr. Sonst ist Casio die erste Wahl beim Uhrenkauf
The yellow one makes me think of watches from the 1980s like the Swatch brand. The black one looks better in person than it does in photos.
when gw atomic?
Anyone knows that in ga b2100 auto light is available (raise up light ) if yes then please share how to set it
Don't kid yourself ,just buy the Royal Oak😀
Or buy about 360 of these GA-B2100 watches for the same budget. Almost a new one for each day of the year!
An all metal one is on my list!
