Appreciate it! I’m excited to finish one! I’m hoping to really get into it and get good so when I retire in 8/7 years I can do it as a side gig. Figure by then if I ain’t good enough I’ll know it to do something else 😂
Excellent question. The answer is the freezer is the safe space. You could do 1 step then freeze then the next step then freeze big thing is I ice block mine some don’t but some do ether way some people don’t have the time to do the all of this in 1 sitting so find what works for you just remember the freezer is the safe space and if you ice block it you never have to worry about freezer burn
True! I’m doing it as a hobby now if I kill a hybrid or wild like that then yeah leave it to a pro but I’m hoping after a few years doing this I’ll be able to trust my self by that point
Very true!! There is so much that goes into it I never knew! But while learning I hope to get good enough to trust my self to do others.. gonna be a few years before that tho 😂

Can you do this in multiple sittings or do you recommend the whole skinning, defleshing, washing portion all in one sitting

Nice work, very informative
Appreciate ya watching!
I have a ringneck in the freezer I just may give this a shot seems fun
I say give it a shot!
How do you thaw the bird out before you mount it? Would you just let it sit out for days or heat it up somehow
Just set it out around 14-18 hours prior to wanting to skin I have my house set for 70 degrees . I wouldn’t heat it up
oil glands for preening feathers.
What do you mean
Even if I did it a lot i still wouldn’t trust myself with bucket list birds
Gotta practice on the non bucket list ones!

@@DuckalopeOutdoors i shot a hybrid mallard X black duck I wouldn’t even think to try that myself
Nice!! Yeah I’d have to have a few years under my belt to attempt it!
A lot of work. That's why you get what you pay for.

Wear gloves....
What would that do for me? Just for clean up or to protect the bird?
@@DuckalopeOutdoors just cleaner, hands won’t smell etc won’t get duck shit and other grossness on your hands.
@@leem9886 gotcha! Appreciate the tip!
