I've needed this song so much! I've felt hollow, numb, and suicidal for months now. And this song made me realize that my life means something. when I heard this song, I sang it loud as I could and just cried out to god.

I literally felt soaked in love. I am bathed in grace, strength, and beauty. He calls me out as He sees me, and I am all He pours into me. I'm a vessel, not a victim. I'm a victor, not a criminal...there's just SO much truth in this song that I want to bleed out God's love (metaphorically) to give life to others (literally).

The beginning part always gets me, I am no victim. I'm a college student and for years it's always been pretty tough for me to make friends.... even since I was little. I also have what you would call social anxiety I get anxious and fear in my throat or stomach when I want to talk to others so Instead I look and just continue on with my head down. which has created this image that I am stuck up and people rarely speak to me. if yet someone would not judge but at least open the book and see that all along I'm a nice caring soul I'm just socially awkward. ... but I'm not a victim, I am who he says I am and one day he'll send that somebody or somebodies that will become my friend and I won't be as alone on campus!

I've also struggled with social anxiety. So much so I went through campus like you are right now...People thinking I'm proud or stuck up or unapproachable. All the while it was me afraid of talking to people. Like freaked out. The thing about fear is that it will convince you that you have to do what you have to do on your own strength and that's the enemy's lie because we simply can't do it on our own, we need the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to connect you to some heavenly friends and he is faithful to do so. People who even get your silence. Always remember, it's through the Holy Spirit that we do anything even interact or start conversations. He will give you the right words to say. We are not victims of labels. I wish you Jesus! ❤

Jesus Warrior, I can really relate. I feel like an orphan and a victim at times, (even tho I know that that’s not true in God’s eyes) because my father committed suicide. Coming out of this orphan and victim mentality is been quite a process. i understand your joy about this phrase, and i understand how it comfort us. but, we need to be more critical about the scripture truths. we need pay more attention in the second phrase that say: "He is who He says He is". why this define us! we participate of god's love, and god's grace, and your nature because of christ. thus joy need to convert to this truth, rather than who we are.

But I felt purely the Lord speaking to me, I was going through a difficult time and was talking to the Holy Spirit and He guided me that song, I felt in truth that the Father was not treating me like a victim, but he was calling me: daughter, when the phrase came from I am who He says I am, it is about Him having spoken to me that I am His daughter who is explicitly complementary to what He is who says He is in the word, my Father. Let's not starve the desire according to what we think or feel but fulfill the desire according to the given grace we have. Whether you love math, art, worship leading, whatever the desire is! My favorite line is "He is my Father....I do not wonder if His plans for me are good.....if He'll come through like He should" and "I am who He says I am." I am not defined by what others think of me, my past mistakes, my background, or the person I was yesterday......I am not her anymore. I have been feeling overwhelmed by ministry lately. And with that comes thoughts of how "I" cant do it or "I" don't have what it takes, and it's easy to get into the no-one sees/appreciates me mindset. Me this, me that.. pity party... Victim mindset.
And The truth is on my own I can't do it and on my own I don't have what it takes. BUT I am reminded that I'm called and graced for this. I am empowered by the Holy Spirit - He gives me EVERYTHING I need to run this race with endurance. He gives us the will power, wisdom, heart for people, vision, strength, encouragement, power, resources, and so much more to do what he's called us to do. Because He is committed to seeing His purposes fulfilled on earth through us. What an awesome GOD!!!!!!!!

My colon collapsed for no reason. Jesus healed me because I started obeying His commands. In Deut. 28 and Lev. 26 you will find all the curses for those who don't have His commands. yesterday I was struggling to trust God a lot and felt the edge of walking away from faith. Then, before I got to sleep, this song came into my mind (haven't listened to it for like 8 months at least) and whenI play it, I feel God speaking to me a lot. :)

I just heard this just today from our Church’s praise and worship. I was in tears and my heart was overflowing with joy by hearing this wonderful song.
