- The Trolltunga hike is dubbed as one of the most amazing hike in the world and we couldn't agree more! The long and strenuous hike was rewarded with a stunning view of the tongue amid a backdrop of bright blue lake and snow capped mountainscape. Check out how it is like to walk this 28-km return trip.
Some tips and practical information:
-Trail start location: the traditional starting point is at P2 Skjeggedal (maps.app.goo.g..., but you can also skip the first 4-km of asphalt road by taking the shuttle bus to P3 Mågelitopp (maps.app.goo.g...)
-Trail end location: maps.app.goo.g...
-There are 3 parking options: 1)P1 Tyssedal, NOK 300 per car (location: maps.app.goo.g... 2)P2 Skjeggedal, NOK 500 per car (location: maps.app.goo.g... 3)P3 Mågelitopp, NOK 600 per car (location: maps.app.goo.g...)
-There are shuttle buses available from the town of Odda, and also from P1 and P2, to the trail head at P3 Mågelitopp and all information can be found in Trolltunga's official website (trolltunga.com...)
-At P2 Skjeggedal there are some kiosks where you can get some refreshments
-There is also a cabin that you can stay in or camp at P2 Skjeggedal (trolltungadrop...)
-There is no official place to overnight at Trolltunga area, but you can always do wild camping and there are plenty of water source (river, waterfall, lake)
-The best place to stay in the area before tackling the hike would be in the town of Odda, although Tyssedal or Eitrheim would be good alternatives
-This is a very long hike that will take the entire day so bring enough food and a bottle of water for refill
-Start your hike as early as possible if you're not planning to spend the night in the wild; there is also a warning on the way to tell you to return if you don't reach a certain point by a certain time

@@Onebackpackeach Our pleasure. haha u think so? Haha we will try our best 🤣 Hope someday we can drive to Norway too. 🤗 Groetjes terug van ons 👫
You can do it!!!! 😀😀😀💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Yes, you can, because I can, and I am near 60. (start from P3, not P2., and you have to be a good driver!!)
My wife did it without any exercise (she was only 115 pounds though), but I carried everything about 5-10 pounds and I had exercised for 2 months before the hike, *500 feet of climbing, 3 or 4 times a week* with a bag of 20 pounds on my back.
We hiked Pulpit, Trolltunga, Reinebringen in Reine and Hesten in Senja within 11 days of Sept, 2022 (we drove from South to North). Trust me, *the exercise was really helpful,* I didn't feel very tired. We also saw the northern light at Medfjord (stay up till 1:30am!!! the best we watched happened around 1AM.)
Wow, sounds like you a great hiking trip in Norway!! The exercise indeed helped a lot to get yourself in shape before the hike. Just the sheer distance to Trolltunga and back itself is already quite a challenge.. but we're glad to hear you made it through all those cool hikes!! 😀😀👍👍
Thank you for your videos, we have been enjoying watching yours! New subscriber here 🙌 Kami juga mau ke Norway bulan Juni nanti dan rencana hiking Preikestolen dan Trolltunga. Overall, dari dua itu yg mana yang kalian lebih enjoy? 😆
Hello... thank you for subscribing and glad that you enjoy our video. 😀😀 bulan Juni mantap tu, bisa dpt lbh banyak daylight dan bs enjoy matahari. Kalo "easy" hike mendingan Preikestolen. Trolltunga agak panjang hikenya, walopun g terlalu nanjak. Cuma kalo m ke Trolltunga better come early, takutny fotony antri2... 🤭
04:57 wow! 😳
😁😁
Nice 👍
😀😀
Great job... I was last to arrive and did not have photos taken
It was raining and cold
What a pity... did you at least get to enjoy the view and the hike?
@@Onebackpackeach Great experience... I survived
Thats the most important thing, you survived 😀😀
You are great...
😀😀
On my bucket list! Did Kerajbolten and Pulpit in May 2017 but missed out on this one due to time! I wonder who can help w phototaking while I queue for the tongue? Great video!
Nice 😀😀😀 either your friends or family or just trust random people waiting in the line. One of our friend also used his tripod and take the picture with remote. But for us, we asked random strangers there.
Amazing How about Restrooms in the area while you are doing the hiking ?
In the nature 🤭 just make sure not to do the "business" close to the water stream. The only public toilet was in the parking area, before starting the hike.😅

Yg dr fb iub mana suaranya?
Auto sub broo, kyk youtube bule... 😅
Makasi uda sub 😀😀😀
Mari2 diramaikan channel ini 😁😁
Do you know what time the shuttle bus starts operating from p2 to p3? We want to start early..
Hi, to be honest we dont know for sure, but it seems you can find the info in the official website www.trolltunganorway.com/en_GB/activity/100402/bus-from-skjeggedal-to-maagelitopp-to-the-upper-starting-point-for-the-trolltunga-hike
Anyway starting early is highly recommended and good luck with the hike! 😀😀
hi, thanks for sharing your video, awesome, quick question to asK : instead of taking the shuttle to P3, can I ride my car and park at the P3? thanks
Hi, thanks for watching! 😀
You can park at P3 (Magellitop), but you have to reserve in advance via the official website (www.trolltunganorway.com/en_GB/activity/267450/trolltunga-parking-p3-at-maagelitopp-upper-starting-point)
There is only very limited capacity at P3 (not to mention that it's quite expensive as well 😅), so you'd better reserve early..
Otherwise your best bet would be to park at P2 and take the shuttle to P3, or walk up 😀
Anyway good luck with the hike and hopefully you'd get great weather and not so long wait to get on the tongue itself 😁😁
@@Onebackpackeach Thank you , I could not believe we have to pay 60 dollars to park. Do we have to pay parking at P2 as well? how often the shutlte bus from P2 to P3 runs?
Yeah I know, it's crazy right!! The most expensive parking fee we've ever paid!! 😨
Even at P2 it costs 500 NOK (around 50 dollars)... but still, hundreds or cars park there every day during the summer 😅😅
If I'm not mistaken the shuttle bus runs quite frequently, every 30 mins of even less 👍👍
Thank you so much, you are the best. I guess if I have to pay the shuttle bus to P2 from ODDA maybe it's better just to park the car at P2 and pay for the car and take the shuttle from P2 to P3
😍😍😍
😁
Hi there , great video , what time of year was this ?
😀
Thanks! We did the hike in August..
Are there any accomodation option at the trek starting point ? How much should I cost for one bed ??
I dont think there is a room available at the starting point, but I did see some people camping at some of the grassy area..
Your best bet would be at Odda, and get a shuttle bus from there directly to the starting point.. as for the bed/room price we dont exactly know since we camped, but expect upwards of 30/40euro per person I'd say.. good luck!
@@Onebackpackeach thank you so much
Very nice video :) Which month did you go? Weather seemed nice!
Thank you for the compliment. Glad that you like the video 😁 We went there on 24th July 2020. The weather was really great. Sunshine the whole day which made Trolltunga even prettier. Are you going there soon?
@@Onebackpackeach Yes we are, but in 1st week of September. We will expect colder temperature but also would hope for some sunshine 😍
Wow... cool! It's a really beautiful place. Hopefully the weather will be great. Let us know your experience in Trolltunga, we are looking forward to hear from you 😁😁😁
If you need any tips, feel free to contact us btw. 😁 Enjoy 😀😀
there's another path at the begining to avoid the road
Yes correct indeed. But we decided to take the road because it's the fastest from the P2 parking lot 😬
Wow wow, this is in my bucket list , in which month did you go?
😍😍😍 Nice! Hopefully you can tick Trolltunga from your bucket list soon 😁. We were there on mid July 2020.
Hi!! Which is the period you did the hike? 😊
