The bed turning was awesome! Thank You Very Much! The quilt patterns that I have had on my bucket list for some time and I would love the pattern to make are: a basket quilt, quilts #6 & 20, the bear paw quilt #18, the ocean wave quilt #23, and the saw tooth quilt #25. There are so many that I admire, but these are at the top of my list to make a quilt if I had a pattern. ❤️🧵
Wow, I loved the bed turning. Loved so many of the quilts. I love the projects you come up with and your style. Thanks for showing and looking forward to more bed turnings in the future. They are beautiful.
Love that you are so respectful in the way you handle your quilts! Just beautiful and such a great treat to see them and hear your passion for vintage quilts.
Thank you thank you for the wonderful red and white quilts that you. Shared with us.I am a hand quilter so I really enjoyed the show.Happy holidays to you all.
I love all of the quilts but PLEASE recreate the one with stars in the middle of the stack with the tiny triangles on the edges. That is my favorite! Thank you for sharing all of the beautiful red & white quilts.
Really enjoyed this after the fact. Something so appealing about 2/c quilts. I have to say the last quilt- feathered star- was my fav. Thanks for the show!
I loved seeing these wonderful treasures. I love red and white quilts and what a wonderful collection you have. Just ordered some of your redwork gatherings material!
Thank you so much for doing something different - it was a great way to see all these quilts. I really like the Ohio Star quilt along with all the other ones too 😊. Looking forward to quikting along with you in 2021!
All the quilts are amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the bed turning. My favorite quilt is the king size one with all the triangles around the edge. I would absolutely love to see you make a pattern for that one. Thank you so much for sharing some of your quilts with us.
Bravo! Fantastic! loved seeing some of your collection. FYI when I visited the museum at Sturbridge Village years ago the docent commented about the larger quilts, sometimes they weren't used on beds but used on the walls to help with the "drafts" in the homes and families of wealth had the fancier ones because they had the money to purchase the fabrics. Similar to tapestries you see in European castles etc.
The Drunkards Path with the triangles is called "Crown of Thorns." My aunt, who is 93, asked me to find out what the quilt SHE SLEEPS UNDER EVERY NIGHT! I was aghast. I believe it was around the Civil War era. Her grandma made it i think she said. I copied a pattern from my dad's quilt. It literally looked ikea Kleenex. It was incredibly scrappy and it was made around Civil War by his great-grandmother had made. It was my second quilt and apparently I'm an idiot, it was really tough. But he laid on it the night he passed and I have it on my quilt ladder.
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 to Lisa and her “army”! I am really enjoying your channel. Thank you for sharing your red and whites and your beautiful home. Love your aesthetic and style... modern casual traditional
Thank you for this wonderful bed turning of your gorgeous antique quilts. The first one is very simple but I love the design. Would love you to make a pattern for this one.
That king size quilt is exquisite as are the quilting patterns! Someday I would like to attempt a Hawaiian wave quilt. Thank you so much for sharing with us! The quilt where can't remember the name is, I think, Lemoyne Star. Dreft detergent?
I wonder if the gentle washing soap Lisa was talking about is eucalan. I am a knitter turned quilter and I always washed my handknits with this. It’s definitely something she would have found at a sheep and wool festival.
Thanks for sharing! I like the red and whites, and hope to make one someday. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year! I hope to get into the CA shop sometime this winter, and would like to take another class with you someday. (I did a punchneedle class a few years ago.)
The one at 20:30 NEEDS to be a pattern.... please! Love that bear paw 31:40 too! It would be a perfect redwork gatherings kit! :-) Oooooh! And, the one at 41:32. AND, the last one! Yeah! :-) You KNOW we ALL want to see the $5k one!
This made me realize I love "little pieces" too! Maybe it's an appreciation for the amount of work that goes into them. My long list of "I'd love to see a pattern for that!": Quilt#1: The Irish Chain Variation (Simple yet stunning, I'm a sucker for an Irish Chain quilt!) Quilt#8: Four Block Lone Star Medallion with Twinkling Stars Surround (Were those Twinkling Stars just more Lone Stars with faded out points?) Quilt#10: Feathered Star (On Point?) with the Delectable Mountains outer border Quilt#14: Pickle Dish Drunkards Path (A Wowser!) Quilt#15: Eight Point Triangle Star (Is what you called it, I'd say "Birds In the Air Star"?) Quilt#18: Tri-Recs and Four Patches (Basic blocks but very unique block setting) Quilt#20: Cat's Cradle Variation Double X Blocks (I also think #12 was a Double X block quilt) Quilt#25: Double Feathered Star (and holding you to your promise to definitely re-create this one!!) Always love what you offer in your own designs and this bed turning was really a special threat for the holidays. Thank you so much for sharing your quilt collection!
