I’m a knife maker and all my hunting and harvesting knives are either w1 or 52100 W1 is a tool steel super tough , time consuming to sharpen but holds good edge for a very long time 52100 is bearing steel and we all know how long bearings last
D2 doesn't have "very poor" corrosion resistance, its technically a stainless steel and at least a solid 5/10, higher then the high carbons and most other tool steels. Yes it will rust in salt water though, only a few knife steels will resist that.
Awesome video. Agree 100% with your views. I have lately became a bit of a steel nerd and love those two top steels.
Great video great guild to where and what to start looking for

Thanks Ozzie.
You’re welcome mate hope it gives you a decent answer to your question?
Look at Cedric and Ada gear and outdoors for tests on pretty much every knife steel there is.
