I had an iphone 5, I loved it and it worked great, but after 8 months my power button broke, and the battery life really irritated me. Now I have the galaxy s5, it's an awesome phone.... I mainly love it because of the battery life. If apple has a better battery for their next phone, I would probably want to get it :)
Darian Carmichel 5 will struggle, it already is struggling with iOS 9. The 5S will not, it's the same device as the new iPod Touch 6 and the 6 is just slightly more powerful than the 5S. The jump from the 5S to the 6 was minimal aside from the screen size. Check some benchmarks and performance, the 5S will not die any time soon, Apple made it too overpowered.
exactly and i get where you are coming from but i disagree. Yes, the 5s is an amazing phone but it will not last. Apple will make iOS 10 dense and whoever updates their phone will be ruining it. i own a 5s and 6s. my 6s is basically as quick as my 5s was on iOS 7. I don't plan on updating my 6s past iOS 9. iOS 10 will slow down my 6s to make the 7 look even quicker.
If you are waiting for the iPhone 6, it comes out in November 2014, the only difference is a Chip with a higher number. Still hasn't got Flash. Still doesn't support 1080p html5 videos. To cut a long comment short, same phone, different number at the end. And the battery will still run out before the end of the day. I have an HTC One X and iPhone 5c Blue, a phone is a phone. They are all the same. It's the battery life I am more interested in than anything. The minute you start watching videos or playing a game, the battery is down to 50% in no time, then I watch some Netflix. I am lucky to have 10% battery by 5pm in the afternoon. Sometimes you are better off with a Tablet device and just buy a cheap phone for making calls.

The iPhone 5S and iPad Air Combo is great. If you can loosen up your pocket for the Power-Packed Duo, you will simply get addicted to Apple's strong ecosystem and services (specially iCloud). I have been only using Apple Products for some 3 years now, with 2 iPhones and an iPad, Trust me, I never ever miss my Galaxy S2 (dated Early 2011) But I love Nexus 5 and KitKat 4.4 ;)
There's no need to upgrade a 5 to a 5s, a 4 to a 4s or whatever. Apple just makes this little upgrades so they get some easy money while they build the real deal (From iphone 3 to 4, from iphone 4 to 5, and etc.) Dont be dumb with your money at least you got a lot to spare lol, I think it's only worth it to buy a new iPhone when a full new version comes out, not this "s" updates. Bought 5S gold few weeks back, loving it...fast and accurate no hanging what so ever. If you can afford a high end smart phone, go for Apple...Samsung/Nokia are simply a second fiddle. Regarding battery life, it is good like any other smart phone lasts for a day and a half...but then unlike all other smart phones, iPhone 5S charges 100% super quick, 20mins max!

i have been thinking of buying the iphone 5, i like the old button more and i dont really care how much faster it is. I was thinking of buying a used one since i dont like spending lots of money on phones, but if they happen to not have a big price difference wich one should i get? Definitely get the 5s. You get a much faster 64-bit CPU, a coprocessor and a fingerprint sensor which will be very handy. Night shift and some apps aren't compatible with the iPhone 5 too.
I had the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S, now have the iPhone 5S and I must say it's way better then any other phone I have had in my life, not bothering with the iPhone 6, 6C or 6S, if they do make a 6C or 6S. I will get the iPhone 7S. I have not had a problem with my iPhone 5S at all so I don't know what some people are doing to the iPhone's.
Anything above the 5 is just not necessary unless your an app designer or something... the general person just can't make use of the power of iPhone 6 or 7 to justify buying

Sometimes i wander why uou giys think browser comparison does anything whilst using wifi. Maybe use the effin 4g or lte. While running on wifi everything shares near same speed no matter the specs of the fone unless they are 3+ years older. Browser and wifi comparison is a gimic.

They want like just about $100 less for last years model than the brand new 6. So thanks (a little late) for posting that video, you made my mind up for me. I mean my 7 yr old Macbook 13" white is worth "maybe" $50 for parts on gazelle (I just bought a brand new Oct 2014 Mac Mini, but I don't expect to get near sticker price for it a year from now, maybe half if I wanted to sell it that soon). If I'm dropping upwards of $300.00 on a phone (A PHONE) I'd expect it to last me a few years. You can see that the 5s has service where the older 5 is disconnected, that will probably make a difference in terms of speed. Also, the battery is at different levels.

I like both APPLE and ANDROID. Only thing that i've noticed is that the iphone ios is a hell of alot more stable than the android os. I've gone through so many android phones but had the same iphone for almost 2 years and the only problem im having is that the battery dies quickly ONLY because ive had the phone for so long. I had to change the battery. I currently have an android but really miss my iphone 5. My very first and only iphone I ever had and was very impressed at how long it lasted. Still today my cousin has the phone and it is working perfectly fine without any problems while I already experienced my android freeze twice in 3 months. I like both of them but prefer the operating system i experience the least amount of problems.
you forgot one thing. fingerprint sensor. It's a good thing cause, my ex always goes into my phone to read my texts when I'm sleeping or away for a min. this will keep all the noisy people away. Thank God lol
I had the 5s but it kept getting a blue screen and crashing at random moments.This wasn't a problem until one day it crashed but would not turn on for about 24 hours. When i tried to restore the phone to see if it would help it would get a blue screen and crash during the restore. I've looked up some videos on this and discovered that I'm not the only one with this problem and it only seems to be happening to the 5s. So even though the 5s is faster i'd say it would be safer to got with the 5 but if you don't believe me just look up "IPhone 5s Blue screen of death" and you'll get some videos and information on it.
I just got the 5a gold and ots pretty amazing had the note 3 before and loved it but the screen was way too big... I would have waited for the 6 but the design from what i hear sux it wont be rectangle any more but more of circle edges uhh!

A lot of people have had problems with blue screens and resets and such, but I haven't experienced this with my 5s. No blue screens but it has reset once or twice, but my iPod touch I had before would reset 4+ times a day on iOS 7.

I was thinking of buying a used one since i dont like spending lots of money on phones, but if they happen to not have a big price difference wich one should i get? I dont really see any difference, maybe someone who has had the phones could know better?
Definitely get the 5s. You get a much faster 64-bit CPU, a coprocessor and a fingerprint sensor which will be very handy. Night shift and some apps aren't compatible with the iPhone 5 too.
I had the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S, now have the iPhone 5S and I must say it's way better then any other phone I have had in my life, not bothering with the iPhone 6, 6C or 6S, if they do make a 6C or 6S. I will get the iPhone 7S. I have not had a problem with my iPhone 5S at all so I don't know what some people are doing to the iPhone's.

Jeez, I barely notice any difference between the 5 and the 5s - I'm going to be going for my first ever smart phone in the next few months and I was originally itching for the "all pimped out" 5s gold until I noticed the re-sale prices on these things - (even used scratch and dent specials) all I could say was - WHOAAA!! ! They want like just about $100 less for last years model than the brand new 6. So thanks (a little late) for posting that video, you made my mind up for me.
I mean my 7 yr old Macbook 13" white is worth "maybe" $50 for parts on gazelle (I just bought a brand new Oct 2014 Mac Mini, but I don't expect to get near sticker price for it a year from now, maybe half if I wanted to sell it that soon). If I'm dropping upwards of $300.00 on a phone (A PHONE) I'd expect it to last me a few years.
Looked around at the 5s prices and they want upwards of $400.00 - USED scratched and dented - new is still about $550.00 (whaaaat?!?) Sorry, but that's wayyyy too much to spend on a phone - so , for me, the 2 year old iphone 5 is good enough. Just have to decide if I want white or black -- For me it's decent enough and would probably last me years as I can't understand nor want to be any part of the mania associated with having to get the newest smartphone constantly.
I'll just be entering the whole smart phone arena, and I can't see dropping as much or more than I just spent on a brand new computer for a - PHONE. Will get a month to month plan for like $45 plus tax no contracts.

You can see that the 5s has service where the older 5 is disconnected, that will probably make a difference in terms of speed. Also, the battery is at different levels.

I like both APPLE and ANDROID. Only thing that i've noticed is that the iphone ios is a hell of alot more stable than the android os. I've gone through so many android phones but had the same iphone for almost 2 years and the only problem im having is that the battery dies quickly ONLY because ive had the phone for so long. I had to change the battery. I currently have an android but really miss my iphone 5. My very first and only iphone I ever had and was very impressed at how long it lasted. Still today my cousin has the phone and it is working perfectly fine without any problems while I already experienced my android freeze twice in 3 months. I like both of them but prefer the operating system i experience the least amount of problems.

I had the 5s but it kept getting a blue screen and crashing at random moments.This wasn't a problem until one day it crashed but would not turn on for about 24 hours. When i tried to restore the phone to see if it would help it would get a blue screen and crash during the restore. I've looked up some videos on this and discovered that I'm not the only one with this problem and it only seems to be happening to the 5s. So even though the 5s is faster i'd say it would be safer to got with the 5 but if you don't believe me just look up "IPhone 5s Blue screen of death" and you'll get some videos and information on it.

A lot of people have had problems with blue screens and resets and such, but I haven't experienced this with my 5s. No blue screens but it has reset once or twice, but my iPod touch I had before would reset 4+ times a day on iOS 7.
