Devito got a shot. He’s not great but was an excellent story. He fired his agent when he set him up to look bad for publicity deals. Giants should’ve had faith in him against Jets and it cost them that game

DeVito was targeted starting in the saints game due to the attention he was getting and it continued to the eagles game. Taylor can run an offense but when a play is needed he always messes up. Daboll bad decsison making has cost giants atleast 4 wins.

Most teams can't rebuild an entire O-line in one season. Chiefs did it in 2022 but you can't expect a bottom feeding franchise to mimic one of the best run teams in the league. This upcoming season will most likely result in Rodgers getting hurt again (I think its well over 50% likely) so Jets better draft another qb in the first this year.

Agree with Evan. Taylor gives the Giants the best chance to win, but that was always the case. Even when Daboll decided Devito was the starter Taylor was still the best option to win, so in my mind that is when he gave up on the season, so why make the switch now? I'm not going to be any happier in the off-season if they go 5-12 or 6-11.
We know who Taylor is, and I think he's a very competent QB but not going to take the Giants to the next level, he needs everything around him to be perfect. Which is probably also the case for Daniel Jones. We might as well see who Tommy "can be" and I honestly didn't see anything that totally disgusted me with his play. Lot of drops, play calling, and he's still not putting the ball in danger.
Now, one argument I can see is that they are evaluating ALL the players, so maybe in the mind of the coaches they think they're not giving the other players a fair shake if Devito is QB. Like Darius Slayton has looked a bit better with Taylor the last few weeks
Also agree with Shaun that I'm not sure Taylor gives the Giants MUCH of a better chance, I think he makes them better, but not by a ton

Evan... "You play to win the game." It's that simple. You don't give up because you're eliminated from playoff contention. DeVito is not going to be the full season starter in 2024 based on a couple of December/January games. He might after a full off-season getting QB1 reps - OTAs, training camp, pre-season games - but not from a late-season game against a team that's looking for playoff seeding.
And Tyrod Taylor is? Taylor has won one singular game this season and that was a 14-7 victory over the Commanders. Against the Rams, Taylor was gifted two drives in Rams territory, both resulted in FGs. This is another contest in which the defense did more than what it needed to win a game and Taylor could only muster 19 points.

He didn't fleece a penny from anyone. The Giants gave him a contract, which was their entirely freely-made decision. It remains to be seen whether or not they get their money's worth. Getting his brains beaten in behind a non-existent offensive line over the course of a few games is hardly proof-positive that he can't play, particularly in light of his success last season. We shall see in the long run how it works out, or doesn't.
He didn't fleece anyone - he played great in a contract year and was awarded what's essentially a two-year contract. Despite his salary, the team has plenty of money to spend in the offseason with plenty of voids to fill.@@chrisnalina1755

I think the giants probably should be playing devito. The seasons over, tyrod isn’t going to show you that he’s a starter… he is a quality backup. At least see what devito over a nice sample size. Not just yank him after a few bad games. Especially when he got thrown into the fire and the offense isn’t built around him

I'm hesitantly holding out hope for Brian Daboll but this season was concerning. He was hired to be a QB whisperer and run a creative offense yet he shirked those responsibilities to a guy who hadn't called plays.

I agree with the sentiment, 100%. Thing with Brian Daboll that has me uneasy is him not calling plays. He did it in Buffalo, elevated Josh Allen's play to MVP levels - why offload that to Mike Kafka? Also, his decision making to start the year was baffling - leaving Daniel Jones in when the team couldn't stop a JV squad and the game was out of reach left me feeling incredibly frustrated.@@asacloutier7530

Josh Allen had a good season but Daboll was a coordinator up in the box .. QB is a confidence position and you can’t be walking on egg shells scared to make mistakes ..DeVito wasn’t perfect but he had a bit of swag and that clutch end of game confidence that u like in a QB.. let the kid play and learn . Daboll was a better coordinator bc he was up in the box .. you can’t have your head coach throwing a tantrum on the sideline every time your QB makes a mistake ..

You take away half of those big plays jones had last year and that team doesn’t make the playoffs and daboll isn’t coach of the year ..daboll has been out coached in at least 3 games this year that the giants should have won .. to say you can’t fire a head coach when their QB stinks is a bit of a stretch considering both Tomlin and belichick drafted QBs they wanted ..
Joe Schoen shouldn't hesitate trading future picks to move up for a QB because his job could very well be in jeopardy if he screws up this offseason.
