This is the Ibiza I long for-the old-school vibes, magic, and charm of the music that made the island what it is today. Thank you, Chicane, for this incredible Balearic Trance set. I wish the island's superclubs embraced trance in all its forms more. I've been numerous times over the last 7-8 years, hoping to find the magic of old that so many trance folk from the 90s and early 00s remark about. It's generally not found in Ibiza anymore. Ibiza has become a big EDM/tech fest. The crowd at Mambo's is truly blessed to hear such a magic trance set.
Synchronising Drive Home/Early with the actual sunset is exactly what has fuelled my soul for so many years. I intentionally listen to Chicane's ambient and atmospheric tracks when I take off on plane or travel through the countryside by train when I expect to see something that takes my imagination. Looking off at the mountains or a horizon that inspires. Chicane would master a soundtrack to my life and I am forever grateful. Forever full of happiness and bliss. Thank you Nick. ❤
This is a proper mambo set. I'd be going mental watching him please Saltwater live, which is still the greatest dance track in my opinion. Can't believe the crowd is so dead, either I'm too old or they don't know what an absolute legendary classic that track is.
Mad respect to Chicane and truly a privilege to listen to him while eating BUT mad respect also to all the anonymous djs out there in cafes , restaurants etc where they are doing their best (most of them) to make people's experiences in those places a little bit better.
And most of them would be mixing, no disrespect to Chicane's tunes as they are part of the fabric of the scene, but I'm confused as to why he didn't mix this live.

I love watching him play his own music. Sunstroke, from 1997. Seeing him get it just right, bouncing to the beat like the rest of us. It's a tune he wrote and has listened to a million times, and it still gets him going.
Amazing set, I'm glad I was there for it. Doing it the old skool way of sitting on the rocks. This is what Ibiza was and should still be about, give me Chicane any day at Mambo, over the likes of Ushuaia or any other super club.
The last time i was at cafe mambo i was waiting to go to the airport to go back home and whoever was playing played low sun by chicane and both me and my mate cried our eyes out (probably due to being awake for 3 days and the serotonin depletion), if i was there for this i definitely would have cried tears of joy again

It has to be a fantastic feeling, that in whatever field of life, you have put something, a mark on the table and the people respect and adore it. Something that is forever green and long term. Most of the people are simply not able to create such and they die without it. It's fine, I just want to say I really respect Chicane because of the above.
This is exactly how I remember Mambo - so glad the vibe is still the same. You just chill out there , watching the sun go down , with absolutely world class tunes. There are no pretentious “superstar DJ” stuff there.
