The downs are part of life!
We will do. When you travel with a pace like we do, and go by other travellers we meet on the roads' recommendations (as opposed to following a travel guide book or whatever) then there are always surprises and challenges. But I feel we uncover the reality of the places we visit from a vanlife/traveller perspective, as opposed to something else.
We love the adventure anyway, it gets us out of bed in the morning 🧡🙏
Dehydration remedy universally . 1 pint water 1 Tspn sugar, 1 Tspn salt and drink it all . This has saved lives. Love exploring with you two

Shame about not liking the local aniseed plonk. It's usually a nice cheap tipple guaranteed to get you lashed. Try it with lemonade, limca, twist-up, or calypso, - it helps sweeten & fizz it up. Much nicer than with water.

Corsica looks absolutely gorgeous. It does remind me more of Italy than France for sure. That veggie pizza looked delicious. Have fun in the mountains but take care as the weather near the summit of any mountain can change at the drop of a hat and become dangerous particularly visibility wise. I am now off to research what is the tallest mountain in Corsica out of curiousity 😁
When you next arrive back in the UK you HAVE to come to the outer hebrides in Scotland, my home the Isle of Barra is the most stunning place. It's pure magic here ❤
Ooohhhhh! I'm so excited to hear you say this! We've got a 5 year plan that involves a campervan and the Hebridean Islands! I did the NC500 (before that was a "thing") 15 or so years ago and I cannot explain how called back to it I feel. We're saving up for a van to make it happen! ❤ I just want peace and windswept beaches and blue water and our dogs running along the sand 💙
I felt sorry for you Janine, it's actually quite easy to get dehydrated in warm weather, we often think we have had enough. I love this series also, can't wait for part 2, love from Australia 🌏🦘

Wonderful video. Loving Corsica! How very beautiful! Top tip - rehydration salts - always handy to keep some packets for a dodgey tummy and for when you're dehydrated. It's the loss of, then lack of salts that can cause problems.

There is a ferry which goes from the south of Italy (Bari) to Greece. And then many ferries that travel to the Greek islands. Would be a great adventure if Janine loves boats :)

I think you can even get a ferry from Greece right down to Cyprus. It's amazing in Cyprus especially as it is part of the commonwealth
@@mandyb5954 Yeah, I think you can during the summer months. Cyprus drives on the same side of the road as the UK too. Geographically the middle east and is the only country that has a capital city with a border going through it!

Corsica with a camper van? Good luck!!!😅😅😅Be careful, do not park overnight anywhere or ask permission from residents, they don't like vanslivers very much. I recommend 2 Corsican specialties to taste: “Figatellu” is a sausage to cook on the barbecue with Corsican bread and “Pietra” is the official beer of Corsica. Also be careful, the coastal roads are narrow, the mirrors sometimes don't survive...😄

Hi, are you two still practicing yoga? Sometimes a yoga studio may allow you to park overnight if they have parking. Wake up, go in for a wash and a class, have a shower and.....off you go. I am a sixty something solo traveler, I love your video's! Blessings.
We would love that as we are always looking to jump in on a yoga class somewhere
@@ThoseHappyDaysOn Phuket, I went to a studio and enquired, they had a place to stay. It was very inexpensive and included yoga, mat and towels... plus, I was in a village between 2 busy areas, I loved it! So, I did the same in Cambodia, India (of course) and Nepal. ❤

Corsica looks amazing. I hope your feeling better Janine I collapsed back in 2018 and was told my blood pressure had dropped dangerously low which they informed me at the drs was partly due to dehydration, my problem is I am so bad at drinking water but I am trying to get better for the sake of my health. I love watching your trips to all these wonderful destinations and looking forward to part 2 of Corsica next week have a great week x

In Spain, in Mercadona, you can get a natural Citronella spray, it’s their own brand in a glass bottle, really cheap, and works. You can spray yourself and your bedding with it. If you look in the supermarkets there you might find something similar, or ask in the chemist. In the UK, Avon’s Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Spray is brilliant, double action as it’s a moisturiser too, it’s on A mazon, you might be able to get it delivered to a locker. If you get bitten look for an Aloe Vera plant, they’re usually everywhere. Cut off a leaf and put the sap on your bite, takes away all the itching. Keep the leaf, the end just dries up, and then you cut a bit off and get more sap for your bites. Also very good for your face! BTW Coconut Water is brilliant for rehydration, it hydrates you more than water and is high in potassium, magnesium and calcium, it’s a great hangover cure too!
When my son was younger, my sister and I would take him camping and he would sleep in the SUV. He is a late sleeper and the vehicle would get hot before he got up. I had netting which I cut to the shape of each window and then affixed it to the outside with flat round MAGNETS (from Dollarama). He was able to have the windows unrolled for ventilation and not get any spiders, wasps, or any other insect inside.
What a beautiful place! Never realised Corsica was so pretty. In some places there's no one about. Looks a perfect time of year to go. Will wait to see how you got on in the storms though. Weather is really up and down in Europe. It's pretty wet and chilly here ATM in UK. Can't wait till next week. Stay safe x

Corsica was a favourite holiday destination for my father and step-mum. It is a beautiful and quite unique place..very dramatic scenery.
Like the road to Amalfi, so many roads like that in Italy, and SO skinny. Great video guys. 🥰

@@ThoseHappyDays. Janine scary road, really busy, thin, big busses though you can go down on the train if you want. We found it really hard to park but that may have been the time of the year we were there, I think it was October. Hell it’s beautiful though you’ll love it.

Another fabulous episode. ❤️ Corsica looks gorgeous. You can drink too much water and get dehydrated as you can wash all your salts and sugars out. Try a flat lemonade or just add a tiny bit of salt and sugar in a glass of water. A lady in Egypt told me that, and it has always worked. 🤗 Your one pot looked really good, a handy tip for a quick meal even if you aren’t camping 😋 Mozzies are the bane of my life too. Corsica is our favourite place we have been there 7 or 8 times and driven all around the island over the years, Calvi used to be really nice before it got too touristy, Corte is our favourite place that has a fantastic walk up into the mountains to reach the water pools. Corsica made us fall in love with France where we now live, Pietra beer is the best 😊 Brings back memories ❤

I'm sorry that Janine was feeling unwell with dehydration , dehydration effects are essentially when the blood thickens causing the heart to pump much faster , this is what gives rise to an elevated heartrate , in addition dehydration will also create a general faint feeling with lack of clarity and a general overall feeling of unwell , dehydration can also create headaches , particularly if alcohol is consumed , the good news is that dehydration is easily rectified with plain cool water regularly sipped over a period of an hour or so.
