Soo inspired by you. I am also mixed race, looking racially ambiguous, feeling like I was torn between two worlds. Your story is extremely comforting to me, thank you for being vulnerable on this platform.

Very good. I think we move past what others say and do. Even mislabels are wrongly assigned to the individuals. I have to say as multicultural as Berkeley, California is I'm perplexed at where the sources of multiracial and multicultural immersive learning is? It was the time period and I observe that that underneath the diversity the source of Bi-Racial, Multiracial, Multiethnic and Multicultural identities and expression have not been critically addressed at the core of the diversity. Then there is the complexity of values, moral values and religious beliefs and within that context finding a common ground of unity. I have come across in the years of education with my family teaching, relocations and travels people and places where no cultural identity and cultural expression exist nor resources. In that environment in order to grow during the stages when you need it the most and that is usually youth developmental stages there is a delay of growth in finding the center and it is more complex with cultural division. I understand. Simone live your life on your own terms. I find it dishonest when a person such as the former relationship you were in assessed you from a brief period in life and the issue is even worse for the critics when they are viewing you from their perspective not close up and authentic without the authority to do so. Therefore, your personal power belongs to you Simone and no one else. Women are strong independent minded thinkers. There are cruel and mean people who misuse and have misused others for a long time and take their issues out on people they should appreciate and respect such as you. There are some Caucasians within European ancestry of America have issues of identity too until ancestry is addressed. As a women of growth, what you can pass on to the younger generation so they won't struggle as you did is let them know to open up a book to all the world people and cultures and then role play that, immerse themselves in the customs and traditions. Have those conversations about what they learned about each other whether disagreement or agreed to learn. Ms. Simone: Be yourself and you will be just fine. Mrs. Gloria Bailey of Charles-Harden ancestry. Care
