I have subscribed to your channel and a huge like to this review is well deserved.
Very excellent review. Great shots, superb close-ups, and most importantly for me, a good assessment of the noise-cancelling abilities of these headphones. Thanks!

dang, good review...love the HD macro shots and smooth panning. I bought the MDR-ZX780DC at costco for $150.00. Got them mostly for watching TV over bluetooth, but they they sound excellent with everything. Only thing I dislike is the non-removable battery.
Thank you for the video. Also for me as a German guy it was good and easy to understand and now I know more about this headphones after 4-5 German videos ! :)
I bought a pair of these partially based upon this positive review. Since receiving them, I don't agree with all of the OP's comments regarding how the device responds to different 'freq. bands', but of course this factor can be dependent upon what GENRE of music you listen to.
What did you make of the call quality for outgoing calls? A lot of these headphones are fitted with mediocre microphones and that would really be a deal breaker for me. As long as my voice is heard clearly at the other end, then job done.
+Tazz1804 I couldn't find an easy way to get the audio from the headphones recorded, but I'd definitely call the quality usable. Because of the placement of the mic on the earcup, if you're in a noisy area audio quality will naturally be worse, so wired headphones with the mic on the cable tend to fare a bit better.
Hey great review, I was just wondering at 1:34 I see you took the headphones out of a case, does that case come with the headphones or is that a case you have bought yourself?
+MrDexg That case came with the headphones, but I've recently learned that Sony included different accessories based on where you bought it -- some places may not include the case, but a soft carrying bag instead.
I am torn between these and the Bose SoundLink ii. The latter phones cover entirely around your ears, which I like very much. But they have a built in EQ which I am not too keen on. I am not sure if the Sony's completely cover your ears in the same way? Though I know the Sony's have no EQ built into them, which is a positive.
what would you say about these headsets in regard to canceling noise from motorcycles, overboard motors, or lawn motors? That´s what I care about mostly.
I had gone to best buy yesterday and I saw Sony MDRXB950BT. The cushions in those were so soft and the earcups were so nice. I loved the comfort as it covered my ears completely and felt very soft. But I couldn't get my hands on any demo piece of Sony MDR-ZX770BN. So i want to know how are the cushions of the earpads on this one? Are they as soft like the 950BT? I can see from the video that they are not as high as in 950BT. How long can you wear these at a stretch before your ears starts hurting? I currently have a Photive BTH3 which though is very good for the price they come at but my ears start hurting wearing them after 2 hours or so. I don't like that. They don't cover my ears completely and their cushions are not very soft.
+SnIpErX07 It's the stock Sony case that they came with, there was also a carry pouch in the package. Apparently not all retailers carry the version of these headphones that come with the case; Costco does, which is where I bought mine.
+This Does Not Compute Oh. A pity I can't purchase this bundle, it's not avaliable in my country. Seems like a nice carrying case to match with this pair of headphones.
so i saw this and your vs review of the audio technica vs bose qc25 (both not bluetooth). all things being equal, with bluetooth being a convenience but not a necessity, which of the three would you choose as your all around go-to if you didnt own a million headsets? my go to right now are my standard mac earbuds! Im guessing the bose are out bc you picked the technicas... I travel a lot, and look forward to quiet, comfortable flights, but i am most inclined to look for my work at home (4 kids) time to be maximized. sound quality is equally as important to me as nc...
I want to buy this one, but there is also the JBL E55BT for €25 cheaper. It's exactly the same kind of headphone but this one has nc. Is the nc on this one that €25 more worth it? I've heard that the nc on this headphone is ok, but not quite that good. I use my headphones mostly in the gym by the way. I would be happy if someone could answer!
Hi there I'm looking at getting these soon I was just wondering what the bass is like on them and also would these block out most of the sound when I'm lawn mowing? Awesome review btw :).
FaTaL_VeNoM I really like the bass on them -- it's robust and punchy, but not overpowering. I wouldn't recommend them (or any other noise-canceling headphones) for mowing the lawn as that's not the kind of noise they're meant to block. In-ear headphones (like those from Shure or Ultimate Ears) would work much better as they form a proper seal to block outside noise.
I'm looking for headphones to maily use in the gym while working out. With that comes sweating, do you think those headphones could stand that or rather not?
It's a dilemma for me.. My phone has a usb type c dongle to 3.5mm jack, but the type c input is at the center which is totally useless when your phonecase has a closing lip on the center blocking it... so I thought oke, maybe opt for bluetooth headphones, but then I have no control on the output.. coming from an MDR -V6 (yes it's harsh) I'm afraid to miss some details in sound with those cans.
Not one bit! This headphone has bigger earcups and is breathable. The previous model mdrzx750bt had smaller earcups and would sweat up after just 30 mins listening
I did realise that the sound stage was a bit laid back when I first bough them. After 2 days of frequency sweeps, it seems to sound a lot more upfront now.
Cool username Cool Band hope you got the 4.50's as i got both the Senheisser and the Sonys. Both are supreme when it comes to Sound quality. I'd give an edge to the Sonys tho.
I'm confused about the charging (red light indicator). When is the headsphone fully charge? Is it: 1. When the red indicator turns off and wait 2.5 hours before fully charge. 2. When the red indicator turns off when fully charge. or 3. When the red indicator turns off and after 2.5 hours turns on again (fully charge) Much thanks in advance!
+This Does Not Compute Thanks! I received my Sony-MDR-ZX770BN yesterday. The red indikator was turned off after I tried to charge it. Then, like two hours later, I disconnected og reconnected the micro-USB cable. It was then I saw something was wrong because the red indicator was lighting up for a long time O.o
Thee is an issue with these headphones, after a few months of constant bluetooth use, you will notice a small highpitched sound in either the left or right side ear cups. I had to get mine replaced due to this issue
Hello, great review. Can you please tell me how do you change the Bluetooth mode I tried following the directions online but I wasn't able to change the mode. Every time I I would press the power button and the Volume up button simultaneously, the blue led blinks three times after the power indication red LED. It would be very helpful if there was a video to show people how to change the mode.
I have tried as well to change the sound quality and I think (not really sure) when you hold the volum up button (+) and the power button the headphones the blue light will first flash 2 times. Then red light will flash (for battery) and for the last 1,2 or 3 blue flashes for your mode. Then the light indicator will pause for like 1-2 seconds and then the blue light will flash 2 times for bluetooth mode. I hope my explanation helped? :)
Also can you give us some idea of headphone models (wired or wireless) that have tackled the noise cancelling better? I've heard Sony's MDR-10RNC were actually an improvement on Bose's QC15s (at the time) but I have no yardstick for comparison. :)
+Tazz1804 I haven't head either the 10RNC's or the QC15's, but my review of the QC25's and Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9's may be of interest to you. Both offer better noise canceling than the ZX770BN's, with the tradeoff that neither is wireless.
Hi! i would know if the microphone works with a computer if i use a bluetooth adapter (like an usb or a pci bluetooth card or the bluettoth in some motherboards). thanks
Hi, I have these headphones, but the cable has started to tear. Does anyone know where I can find high quality cables to replace it? Under 20 euros if possible.
Yes, if you plug in the cord it will disable Bluetooth. Noise canceling works in either mode (and you get better battery life if using a cord instead of Bluetooth).
Daniel Perkin for first time pairing, hold on to the power button. Just hold it till the blue and red starts skipping one another. Power ur Bluetooth and connect it
