The scene of her meeting her father really made me a crying mess. I live alone in the capital for studies purpose and missing my father and mother a lot. maybe that's why. But it's needless to say that Ester and yuxi both of their acting skills are top notch! I'm so ready to dive in the story and explore more of them!

So now, watching a 2nd and 3rd time around--so I can appreciate the aesthetics and the play. As a bookworm and a lover of books, I don't know if other readers feel this way too; we sometimes wish to enter the world of the books we read because of our love of the author's stories or the characters. This show has got me invested because of this concept. What made me laugh was the intro of Lin Miao Miao entering the novel and getting killed many times by the system's lightning. The end credits being inserted is such a novel idea. Love it! Can you imagine a modern person entering another world that isn't advanced? You carry your modern ideas with you unknowingly. The scene where she enjoys the characters bickering like a book reader. Also, knowing the plot makes her a player instead of one of the book characters like NPCs. In the scene when Mu Sheng wiped the stain on her lips, her lips were shivering--I couldn't help but laugh. Oh my god, is she going to get caught? I love that reader mentality MiaoMiao has and her inner thoughts. She knows the plot beforehand and has a set idea that he is the terrifying character who will torture her character; I'd be scared, too, if I knew the novel's ending. The scene of being reunited with her father is heart-warming and touching; it made me cry a bit. Anyone who has lost someone would know that feeling of wanting to see that person again. She is given another chance to make up for her regrets in the real world. How much do we wish to see the people we love that have passed?
if you want other dramas with her watch love beteween fairy and devil (with dylan wang)while no similar, she plays a cute character and my journey to you (with zhang linghe) where she plays more badass and serene role. both are really good dramas. my fav cdrama as of now is love between fairy and devil, zhang linghe is also a second male lead there, reallt recommend. there is also moonlight which is a modern dramas with the same leads as this series (ding yuxi) but i havent wat hed it so ican't say if it's good.

When the ML showed up, I KNEW this seemed familiar. I've read a bit of the manhua in the past "The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus". 28:07 I was starting to get major deja vu with the dynamic between this yellow-outfitted hot-headed (sis-con) sub-ML, the villainess, and then the the FL and ML. I never finished the story, so this should be a fun watch regardless of if it's true to the novel.
