I don't think that is just black people specifically i think that is people in general. All races can cause trouble are we now saying only one race says nothing when they are causing the trouble? I disagree but thank you for sharing your perspective.
Hii! I want this space on my channel to be a safe place where we can share and express our opinions respectfully. While I understand your perspective, I still disagree. In a debate, we can share evidence to support different viewpoints-for example, there are Black families who do know how to create and sustain generational wealth. In the Philippines, there’s growing frustration and concern over Chinese annexation. Let’s keep this space healthy and respectful, using proactive language to express our thoughts and concerns. My video focuses on the positives, and I’m sure future videos will address the negative aspects as well. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I am glad you loved it please do share everyone up north in the UK! Mala will be thrilled to hear that! Mala is like the secret sauce that makes everything better! Love this! I was born and raised in London. Moved to JA in 2016 with my Jamaican husband and two young children at the time. Had our 3rd child 2018. Pandemic came we were building in JA whilst renting and business was just too slow to get things done so we came back to England to make some money. I'm greatful that we are able to be in the UK as a family. We now have our 4th and final child soon to be 2 years old. My heart is still in JA though and can't wait to continue life in JA. We are still building out there and if I could leave this year I would. I'd love to know what sort of work you do over there?❤🇯🇲
Hiiii thanks for lovely comment and for the love! 😊 It sounds like you and your family have been through so much, and I admire your dedication to building a life in JA while balancing everything in the UK. Congratulations on your beautiful family and all the milestones along the way! 👏🏾 I completely understand your heart being in Jamaica-there’s something so special about the island. When I leave the island I am relieved for the break lol but when I am in the airport and I see the gate say Kingston, Jamaica I automatically feel home, there is a sense of happiness and pride 🇯🇲 I’m sure your dream of continuing life in JA will come true soon, and it will be worth the wait. As for work, I have worked in Corporate HR since 2004, I've had various roles, HR Business Partnerships, Learning and Development, Leadership and Talent development to help others grow personally and professionally. Here's a few videos that talk more about who I am/ what I do. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy! 😊 #HappyBinging lol! I am black British with Jamaican parentage. Absolutely, love my Jamaican culture. My Mum would take my sister and I there (nearly every year) for the 5- 6 weeks during the summer holidays, so the Jamaican vibe, food, and culture are definitely rooted & grounded in me. I had a strong sense from the age of about 12 years old that I was not going to be living in the UK forever. Like you I loved experiencing different countries, people & cultures. I have travelled to many of the other caribbean islands, the US, Europe & Africa. However, it was in Asia I felt it calling me. With work I travelled extensively to Hong Kong & China and began to fall in love with this side of the world. I got married... my husband (also Jamaican parentage) also has a deep travel bug. In 2012 we moved from the UK to Thailand, for work - it has been one of our best decisions. We have now been living in Thailand for over 12 years (7 years in Bangkok and now we live in Chiang Mai). We both knew it was important to learn the language, so we both speak Thai to a good level (we are still continually learning it, since it is a hard language to master). However, we are able to converse with locals and they always appreciate we have put the effort in to learn the language. The Thais & hill tribe people are great❤ We both miss very little from the UK apart from our families & friends - who if we could move them to Thailand it would be great... we can but dream😌 We actual have 'reverse culture shock' when we visit the UK!😮 There are similarities of Jamaica in Thailand - from the foods, cooking styles, vast fresh vegetables & fruits on tap, communities helping each other, the markets and daily way of life. These similarities have helped my husband & I feel completely at home. Since living in Thailand my husband & I have visited many other South East Asian countries. This whole experience has enriched our lives, we are continually learning and we wouldn't change it. We have no regrets🙌🏽 Keep up the great work on your YT channel. Keep living your best life and letting people know there is a whole world to be explored and live in❤
Wow, Thailand! I'm also of Jamaican parentage, UK born and raised, but now living in the Netherlands. Stopped over in Bangkok once on the way back from Australia. I liked it there. Would love to go and visit Thailand off the beaten track and chill out in a really quiet resort.
Hiiiii. I loved reading your story-thank you so much for sharing! I can relate in many ways. When I was younger, we went to the US for six-week holidays. My grandparents moved to the US from the UK but wanted my parents to stay and raise a family in the UK. I visited the Philippines for the first time in 2018 and fell in love with the food, people, culture, and history (I was also no longer the shortest person in the room). Our cultures are similar, and we have a rich history. It's definitely a place I would consider living! I learned German in school, and when I moved to France, I took French lessons, but frequent travel made it hard to stay committed. I did learn some French to get around and could understand more by reading than speaking. The best way to learn a language is by living there! Thank you so much for your kind words about my channel. The response to this video has been mind-blowing. I plan to create more videos like this because they show who I am, what shaped my career and the reasons for creating the Leadership and Talent Development Excellence Channel. The video you watched is an extension of me and my career, and my career is an extension of this video. I hope that makes sense! Blessed love, thanks for watching, and thanks for stopping by and commenting on my page. I truly hope you continue to enjoy my content! You're right-there's a whole world to explore, and I have stories for each country I've talked about in my videos. People are asking me to share more about that too!
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent Wow, your story is similar! I think exposer to different cultures & travelling globally from a young age gets the curiosity and eagerness to learn more going. Thank you for taking the time to respond and share more about your journey. I absolutely look forward to seeing more from you and your journey. Love & blessings🥰
It's amazing how travel and exposure to different cultures can shape our perspectives! I'm glad to hear that you resonate with my journey. Looking forward to sharing more insights! Hiiii! Thanks for watching my video and leaving a comment! Thank you so much! Jamaica is a tropical hug for the soul! Jamaica truly is a beautiful place, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Bless up!
Where currently live, we have a shorter winter than NYC.. In the winter, it gets dark at 4:30Pm. In the southwest where I am, it gets like 100 degrees for days on end. I like the four seasons but it is too hot down here. I welcome a clouday day.
Hii, thanks for your comment! What I miss most about the UK are the four seasons-especially the transition to autumn, pulling out winter wear, and watching the snow blanket everything. I also love the crisp air in the UK, which is so different from Jamaica. Maybe I should do a video on what I miss about the UK?!
This is wonderful to hear! I’m not naive-of course, we should be vigilant and cautious in Jamaica, but that applies everywhere in the world. Jamaica is a wonderful place to live; it’s all about what you know, who you know, where you go, and what you do. If you engage in dangerous activities, that’s what you’ll attract. I’ve been here 12 years and counting, and I feel safe and secure. So, yeh man, tell your people fi forward-the lifestyle, and especially the peace of mind are everything to me. For now, I can’t imagine being anywhere else! Please tell your friends about my channel; I’m sure it will help them as they consider relocating. Thank you so much for your comments, and I hope you continue to watch and enjoy my videos! Bless up!

Nice vid. Thanks. I'd like to go 'back' to my parents birth place, but I'm a little concerned about not being able to fit in. I speak Patois, literally as a mother language, but on previous trips to JA I always stand out among strangers. They never see me as a Jamaican - just 'a foreign him come from . . .'
Hiii. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It’s wonderful that you want to reconnect with your heritage. Remember, your unique background is part of what makes you special, so embrace it that's what I do!
@haatpraat2993 Stay as natural as you are. Doubt that it is any comfort but they call born Jamaican's Foreigner if they have been out of the country for some time. Like many people, They call me English even if I say my name. It doesn't bother me as long as they are not being derogatory. Standing out can be a good thing sometimes - People will remember you 😃
Hiii. Thanks for watching my video and stopping by to leave a comment! It's great to see so many people leaving comments and continuing the conversation beyond my video! Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's interesting how identities can shift based on location, but it's great to embrace who we are no matter where we are. Where are you living now?
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent I moved from Birmingham to the Netherlands. Been here 20 years now. These days the closest I get to Jamaican culture is something out of Suriname. But I must admit, to my incredible surprise a neighbour of mine here in this Dutch town is direct from Jamaica - Kingston! I just could not believe it when she told me!!
Hiii! That's amazing 20 YEARS! Sweeet! It's always a pleasant surprise to find a piece of home in unexpected places. How cool is it to have a Jamaican neighbor in the Netherlands? Now you'll get much more closer to our Jamaican Culture! There are more Jamaicans leaving across the world that in Jamaica image if we all came home how cool that would be! I love your video. We, too, are moving from UK to Jamaica. I'm excited but also nervous. I was born uk n married a Jamaica. But now we are moving to Jamaica. He lived with me over here for 24 years, and we have four girls together. But now we are buying a plot in Jamaica and building it up. How long did it take you to adjust to their way of living? Did you settle straight in? We go back n for holidays but now we bought a piece of land we going build our home n live over there. I'm moving away from my family, and he has so many family members. How did u find that?

Love your smile, grace and elegance. 123, here it comes!! sister please be careful out their in Jamaica, because when they hair your foreighn accent some feel you have something over them like wealth, money, and possessions Quick to envy bad-mind, and before you know it, you will not be here. Dont me to scare you but is the truth. Stay safe sis!
Oh plz look how much foreigners live in ja and many visits frequently and they're fine stop with your negative fear monger attitude every time someone speak positive of ja and abt living r returning back to ja then there's always some who have only negative things to say do u know they're many locals who are living better and financially stable compared to many ja who lives overseas is not everyone frightened r bad mind has u claim towards foreigners
@winsomebarnett9110 they put fear in people because they don't have the guts are balls to do it. So they want others to become fearful like them. Well I be home soon got to die some where somehow. Can't live forever I say.
People didn’t want me to move to France, but in hindsight, I realize their concerns were based on their fears, not mine. Moving to France and Jamaica was something placed in my heart. If it wasn't placed in yours, how could you fully understand my decision? It's true that fear can be a powerful tool for manipulation, but it’s essential to focus on living life to the fullest and not let fear hold us back. Your perspective is refreshing! Bless up!

I realize I'm solar powered and need my daily dose of sunshine: if it's overcast longer than a week i start getting depressed, so England is definitely NOT for me. I am curious, how could you not know your parents were Jamaican? Were they embarrassed by it? Such a huge part of a person's identity and their children don't know? I would love to hear how that happened.
Hiiii Feona! It looks like we have the same surname! 😊 Thank you so much for subscribing and watching my video! I love bringing the energy - that's truly me, even in real life! Which country did you move to? That’s a great question, and I’ve had quite a few people ask the same after watching this video. I decided to create another video to answer it, so I hope it covers everything for you! I don't think they were embarrassed and the video will explain more. You can check it out below, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. 😊 Happy binging on my videos, and please share them with others! Hii. I got the music you hear in this video from a website called Envato Elements www.elements.envato.com it is a paid subscription digital assets platform. The intro tune is called: Reggae Logo. Have you tried using the app Shazam?
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent Thanks for the info. Using Shazam is problematic when someone is speaking. That is why I asked for info. Speaking about music - my first cousin is a famous Jamaican producer called, Scientist. He was trained up by the legendary King Tubby back in the day. He lives mostly in LA now because he considers JA a bit too dangerous. As you know his mentor, King Tubby was shot to death while at his studio. As a kid I had heard stories he was family, but I never met him. He never came to Brum to see us. Anyway, one day on leaving a bar here in the Netherlands, I saw a poster advertising a gig with 'Scientist' playing. I went to the gig and afterwards met him behind stage. YES he is close family - the son of my Dad's sister. So a lot of the backing tracks from way back and even today were actually mixed by him. The last we had contact he was doing some work for Lady Gaga. His achievements make me feel really good, especially on the Reggae scene here on the continent. I just tell people my 1st cousin is Scientist and I get instant cred - because of him. Deeper down, it is just brilliant to know someone in my family helped to directly raise the profile of Jamaican music worldwide.
You’re welcome! I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help. Another option is to subscribe to Envato Elements-you can download immediately with no cancellation fees. That’s AMAZING to have a celebrity’s first cousin in our community, watching and commenting on my videos and creating positive conversations and a positive space for everyone! Sweet! Thank you for sharing your personal and inspiring story. Your pride in your cousin's achievements and reggae's global impact really shines through! And to think, all the way in the Netherlands, you both got to connect-no place like Jamaica, and no music like Reggae! Thanks for representing Jamaica in the Netherlands! Bless up!
Thank you so much for your kind words and the love! It took about six weeks to complete the process of moving once I decided to move. While in Jamaica, I finished the paperwork for my citizenship, which needed to be done in less than three months since I had only been stamped in my passport for 90 days! I chose to rent for now, but we are planning on moving to the North Coast (St Ann) where we will build. I will be talking more about St Ann in a future video. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! Bless up!
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent I am already a Jamaican, do I need to file for citizenship? I believe I have dual citizenship. Await your video. Why Kingston instead of Montego Bay? I love Montego Bay and afraid of Kingston 😂
Thank you for your enthusiasm! If you're already a Jamaican citizen, there's no need to reapply-your citizenship is recognized. If you have dual citizenship, you typically don't need to apply again unless Jamaica isn’t one of your two. lol! Don't be afraid! I talk about why I moved to Kingston in a couple of my earlier videos. I relocated because of a job offer. My channel focuses on developing yourself as a leader, growing your teams, personal growth for teams, professionals, entrepreneurs and students. More content is on the way, combining my personal experiences, life journey, and insights. Stay tuned!
I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to follow up on our previous conversation and let you know that I’m offering a FREE 1-Hour Coaching Session. Since you’re interested in the process of moving to Jamaica, renting vs. buying, and other details, this session could be a perfect opportunity to explore those topics further. Hiii! I hope you are having a wonderful productive week! I recently posted a video answering your question (I hope it does!). The video is called 'British 'Rush' v Jamaican 'Chill'. Enjoy and have a brilliant weekend!
Hiii! 😊 Thanks for sharing and for watching my video! How are you finding life in the UK compared to Kingston? Do you miss Jamaica? Would love to hear more about your journey! 🌍✈️
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent I miss home . I work and live in a small village in Berkshire. I miss Jamaica. I cry all the time. I am married to a spoiled small village man for over 20 years .
Hi Lorraine. Thank you for sharing such a personal part of your journey with me. I can imagine how tough it must be missing Jamaica, especially being in a small village so far from home. 💛 If you ever want to talk more, I’m offering free 1-hour coaching sessions, where we can chat about anything that's on your mind-whether it's adjusting to life abroad or just needing a listening ear. Drop the name of the sound track first please? and well done on your move to back to JA from the UK. Like you Natalie, I'm born in the UK , Mum and Dad from yard too. Can you post the links to review to moving to JA from the UK, please? And more videos please.
Hiii! Thank you! I am so glad to hear from someone who was born in the UK to Jamaican parents! The sound tracks came from 'Envato Elements' It is a subscription service for designs that includes graphic assets I use when creating my video, this is where I got various music you hear in the background. The first track is called 'Chill Reggae' What specific links are you referring to you would like me to post and what specific videos topics would you like to hear more of?
Great question! It's important to do some research on different banks and their savings options. Look for accounts with low fees and good interest rates. More content is on the way, combining my personal experiences, life journey, and insights. Stay tuned! In the meantime, I think this channel will help you with your questions www.youtube.com/@RockstarAcademy
Good stuff. However, if you do another ideo on this, you'll need to explain that your not legally Jamaican until you apply for Jamaican citizenship by descent. There is a lot of information required to gain Jamaican citizenship, but it's pretty easy, and the requirements to go to the Jamaican high commission or PICA offices in JA. Anyone who isn't a Jamaican or hasn't applied to be Jamaican by descent can't just work in Jamaica. They'll need to set up their own business and then sponsor themselves via the company, to work for their company.
Hiii. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Thanks for sharing your insights and knowledge, I know this will help a lot of people who are are considering moving to Jamaica. Thank you for continuing the topic and conversation beyond the video. Bless up!
@nataliesmithleadershiptalent your video is good and I have been encouraging those of Caribbean descent here to apply for their citizenship. I've applied and was successful via citizenship by descent. Doing my daughters now. It all supports our country, opens up opportunities for both country and us and strengthens us. Keep up the good work! 👍🏾
I really appreciate your kind words and support. Thats awesome! Congrats! - that's how I got mine! Your journey to citizenship is inspiring, and it's wonderful to see you encouraging others to take that step as well. I hope my content continues to inspire, educate and motivate! Stay tuned for more. Bless up!
Gotcha! I’ve been getting a few questions like yours, and I’ve added it to my list of topics for future videos. I will start with leadership styles in the UK and Jamaica, and then cover other countries in future videos. Stay tuned, and thanks again for watching and for your question/request!
Jamaica has so much potential, brand Jamaica is global! I’m seriously thinking of moving myself, the UK is a sinking ship full of hate. Race relations have not changed since the 60s and are not going to change. Life is too short not to take the leap and live life to the FULL!
Hi!! It's great to hear your enthusiasm for Jamaica! It truly has a vibrant culture and a rich potential. Making a move can be a big decision, but living life to the fullest is definitely worth considering!

Hiii! Sweeeet. That is awesome to here! He is indeed! I will let him know! Thank you for sharing your connection with Mala! It's always nice to hear from those who know him well.
Nice video Natalie. I moved from the UK, 7 years ago, to Canada and now I'm ready to leave again. Both my parents are Jamaican, whereas I was born in the UK, but I want to move to where there's more sun, and Jamaica seems like a good idea. I too have thought about the prospect of moving there and telling myself that it's likely that I will remain single, due to the things you mentioned in the video, but would you mind elaborating on how you navigated this and how you went about finding work, meeting a partner etc
Thank you for your kind words! It’s great to hear about your journey. Finding work and love can be quite the adventure. I recommend using www.CaribbeanJobs.com for job searches-it's easier when you're living in Jamaica. I talk more about this in my recent video, "British 'Rush' vs The Jamaican Chill." I met my partner on Bumble, by the way! My channel is all about leadership development, team growth, and personal growth for professionals and students. More content is coming soon, blending my personal experiences with insights. Stay tuned and have a wonderful day!
Hello there! I hope you are well! I recently posted a video as a follow up to this video sharing another reason why I left the UK. Let me know what you think. Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/2jXmG9zUfB0/видео.htmlsi=xNYntVqeOXbjJbu2
How come u didn’t know that your parents are from 🇯🇲 and them not letting you know that you were eating jamaican cuisine unless they were not proud just curious.
Hii! That's a great question. In future videos, I will explore this more. One reason I moved to Jamaica was to embrace my heritage. I didn't ask my parents why they didn't tell us more about it, and I don't want to assume. What I can share is that my father listened to Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and Gregory Isaacs every Sunday. We were raised as Seventh-day Adventists. My parents and family often visited Jamaica for weddings or funerals, but we didn't go. When I took my first trip to Jamaica at 25, most things felt familiar because of how our parents raised us. For example, I'd go to a dance and hear tunes from Bob, Dennis, and Gregory, and I knew the songs, making the dance feel even more enjoyable. That's just a quick example, and I'll talk more about this and other topics in my future videos. Stay tuned for more!
Hii thanks for your comment and for watching my video! I have a video coming out Monday maybe it will help with the confusion... maybe not. It's all about embracing my Jamaican heritage in the UK (without knowing) and then moving to Jamaica to learn more! I am sure for others they will connect and resonate with my story. Have a wonderful day and brilliant weekend!
I'm new here and VERY confused. Who only finds out their parents heritage in adulthood? Even when you're born in the UK, you will always be asked "where are you from?" if you are black. We all respond with our respective parents' heritage/birthplace (be it African or Caribbean). What on earth was her response to this question all these years?
I have never sat down (both parents) and asked that question so that's on me but I am pleased I decided to move to Jamaica regardless :-) It's definitely a complex situation, and many people can relate to the journey of uncovering their heritage later in life and I am one of those folks! Have a great day!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your thoughts-ah, so life go! Strange has been a big part of my life! I have so many strange, weird and wonderful stories that have changed my life. I’m posting a video next Monday that might clear up some of your confusion... or maybe not! It's all about embracing my Jamaican heritage in the UK (without knowing) and then moving to Jamaica to learn more! I hope this video helps people connect and resonate with my story because for the majority it has! Have a wonderful day and have a brilliant weekend. Bless up!

Especially with what’s going on in the UK currently 👀. Jamaica 🇯🇲 is looking beautiful right now.
Hiiii. Absolutely! Jamaica's beauty is truly a breath of fresh air, especially during challenging times.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! Engaging in these discussions can help us all better understand the situation.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's vital that we bring awareness to these issues and engage in meaningful dialogue to create change.
Absolutely loved this one!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Big up to Mala!

I completely understand your heart being in Jamaica-there’s something so special about the island.

This video is interesting and full of vibes. Loved it!
Hiii! Lovely to see you and thanks for sharing your feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I love sharing interesting content that brings good vibes!
The Thais & hill tribe people are great❤
We both miss very little from the UK apart from our families & friends - who if we could move them to Thailand it would be great... we can but dream😌 We actual have 'reverse culture shock' when we visit the UK!😮
There are similarities of Jamaica in Thailand - from the foods, cooking styles, vast fresh vegetables & fruits on tap, communities helping each other, the markets and daily way of life. These similarities have helped my husband & I feel completely at home.
Since living in Thailand my husband & I have visited many other South East Asian countries.
This whole experience has enriched our lives, we are continually learning and we wouldn't change it. We have no regrets🙌🏽
Keep up the great work on your YT channel.
Hii Gloria! I really appreciate your kind words! It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it!
I have few Jamaican friends that are looking to relocating they love the food and life style and only one place to get it 😊this island

Can someone tell the name of the into tune to this vid - it's wicked!

Bless up!
Jamaica and England (or any European country you had an opportunity to work)
Jamaica is just different
Hiii! Absolutely! Jamaica has such a unique culture and vibe that really stands out. Have a brilliant day!!

You got 2 million pounds!? I am sorry to hear about your accident but very glad to hear the compensation you got! Well, they say money can’t buy happiness, but it sure can soften the blow! So glad to hear you’re doing well and thriving despite everything. I hope you can get to share this video with everyone lot in the Medway Towns! Making the video brought back wonderful memories of living in Strood! Sending love and sun from Sunny Jamaica! Make sure to watch, like and share the rest of my videos! Bless up!

Hiii!
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent Awww thank you so much for the insight and help. I will be staying tuned 😄
Hello there! I hope you are well! I recently posted a video as a follow up to this video sharing another reason why I left the UK. Let me know what you think. Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/2jXmG9zUfB0/видео.htmlsi=xNYntVqeOXbjJbu2
@@nataliesmithleadershiptalent ok I will definitely check it out and let you know 😊
Thank you! Have a sweet soulful Sunday!
I was just about to ask the same question! I found that comment a bit confusing.

Very strange!
Bless up!
U left UK to jamaica?
U must be MAD
Yes….. I did! 😄 That’s exactly what the RUclips video title says! For some people, it might seem mad, but for me, I’ve never felt more sane! 🌞 Jamaica has been an incredible journey, and it’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 🌴 It’s all about following your heart ❤️ and finding what truly brings you peace and happiness! ✨😊
