the triplet is muted on top e 12, not b 12, at least not in my old timer 80s version. also Edge plays it since the 90s the 8th tempo fingers off the frets to let the 2 layered delays some room to ring your sound is fantastic, thou I prefer the Fender strat sound myself combine that with a rough edge pick and it sounds full attack on 🎸
Nice! Great job! Sounds great! I’ve always debated what Edge used when he recorded this song. He uses the Strat live and so do most people who cover it but listening to the recording, that’s not a Strat. Definitely sounds like a Gibson or something and I see in the music video he uses a Gretsch like yours and it sounds closer. I’m still convinced it sounds like a solid body, but I think maybe not dark enough for a Les Paul, a bit more chimey, my money is on the Gibson Explorer for the recording.
Two other guitars were used as well as the black Strat it was tracked using Edge’s 1975 LP custom and Gretsch 6137 1964 White Falcon you can hear the difference in the clarity of the pickups. There’s also the signal path Edge used two Vox AC30s and Korg SDD 3000 delay racks you also hear the constant mutes he strums hear two separate harmonics at the beginning and there’s the bridge third part of the song solo parts with added chorus as two guitars are being used for the main riffs, There’s no way a Strat could emphasise that sound or the other parts individually

You nay be right as his main guitar was explorer then. .but it sounds so clean it's been said he had a tele in studio during tracking also.. whatever it was ..it's one badass tune with really cool guitar playing...I use a 335 when we play it...but wth....I use a 335 on most everything now...funny how us guitar players go thru tone chasing like Mr VAN HALEN said...Just can't get everything outta one guitar and even if we could we'd still want different ones...keep rocking man..

Edge used Gretch on video, but on studio version he played on his Gibson
