I swear this man is saintly. He could easily bundle all of the knowledge he has amassed into several DVD series but he chooses to share it free of charge on YT.
Eli am from Zambia, the country that won 2012 AFCON if you are soccer fan and you follow african football. Dude , you have made me have interest in IT, I am enjoying and benefiting from your free classes . Dude if you are a christian may Jehovah God continue blessing and add more life time to you and your family. Bravo
as usual, the only person on youtube explained a subject in the right way is Eli , you always make it simple every time I'm trying to learn something i tried different people till i found Eli and boooom i got it thanks Eli for everything you are doing a great job
Great Video Eli. Im a small consulting firm looking for CRM solution preferably hosted. You did mentioned Zoho. This zoho saves your info in the cloud. I loved.Going to give it a try. Nothing to lose with zoho from what im seeing so far. Its free and in the cloud.
Highrise is a Cloud based CRM and it has its own App (which can use more work), But its inexpensive and its best used for small-medium business. Its extremely easy to use and they're support is quick and free, no extra fees. Awesome!
I wanted to know the whole idea about CRM. After couple of crap videos, I knew where to look for a great answer! Thanks Eli again and again your explanations are the best. I wish that all my teachers in all IT classes had been like you :))
Do you know why I really love your long videos ? . because they are really rich with useful infos based on real experience. like I always, I raise my hat for you . My respects
thanks you Eli, I was searching CRM definition, and this was the only video that I liked and understood. I am from Chile so I speak Spanish, but I could understand all this video :) :)
great video I like the honest reviews, all your opinions and stuff are very genuine and not contrived or like shameless product placement of something you dont know anything about like you see all over
Great video Eli. Thanks. For our new Home Care company we are seeking the right CRM software. Point is that we deliver care services and no products. Would that influence the choice that we make for the software.
Thanks Eli, Video is very good and clear. For one user Zoho Project could work. I think that Zoho CRM is an amazing product per its price. And their policy license is very clear (not like what you commented in your video) * Even migration to Zoho CRM is simple... Cheers, Danny
Hi Eli. Back up ideas are a completely separate issue than whether a system runs open sourced software or propriety software. Do you really need to be reminded that the internet largely runs on a little known open source operating system.
Hello! I saw at the end that you said the client has the be comfortable with the CRM platform. I was under the impression that CRM was supposed to be used by the company to keep track of clients, not something the client would have to take part in. Can somebody please provide some clarity? Thanks 😊
Vida Pour I think he when he says "client" he's meaning you as the client of the crm tool, not the clients of your company. Could be wrong but that's what I understood it as
Excellent video except for a couple misconceptions and FUD (Fear of Uncertainty and Doubt) against SugarCRM. Firstly, SugarCRM is NOT free, except for the Community Edition (CE) that is released as open source. SugarCRM is available as a cloud based solution as well as the premise installed software. Secondly, yes, the company needs to determine how important it is to have full ownership and control of its own data, with available source code and a published interface (such as SugarCRM CE), as opposed to surrendering valuable data to a third party. You won't know who is peeking into it, the data may be inaccessible and stored in a proprietary format, miss a payment and the data goes poof, just to mention a few concerns. Obviously, if the company decides to host the server locally they will need implement a proper backup policy for the CRM data just like any other important data or file. So, I don't see why having to backup a database should disqualify SugarCRM.
I think Eli merely tried to highlight the advantage of a hosted solution being backup-worry-free, whereas I'd like to add a big asterisk. If you have a decent IT department or you're savvy enough to watch Eli's videos, I'd like to think that deploying a backup cron job or other scheduling methods of backing up valuable data is drawing by numbers for your company. It's something to consider, sure, but I'd never say that thinking about deploying a good backup strategy is that much a pain in your neck to justify real and hard extra spendings on a service that's hosting your data without you having physical access. I don't know why Eli doesn't highlight this at least as much as backup management, something that's not rocket science and fairly cheap, especially when I look at one of these CRM solutions' abysmal storage capacity plans. 500MB for one user? 2GB for 2-4? What's the deal with that Jitbit? Yes, that includes redundancy and backups, but even if we multiply the available storage by a factor of 4 taking backups and redundancy into account that's less than what I have in Dropbox for free. And for that CRM you pay good money for. Eh... Oh and in which world would a CRM software not need SSL by default? If you send my contact info through the internet, at least encrypt it, company xyz! Argh, horrible!
This is a make or break skill employers expect you to know when applying for a job and I found out the hard way! It's not something you can easily pick up. Not in college or high school, that's for sure. Years ago a job recruiter set me up with an employer that questioned my CRM experience for an inside sales job. I came into the interview with cold-call sales experience, but I had no idea what CRM was and I was out the door. The damn recruiter didn't ask me if I had this (unknown) skill. A waste of time and gas!
Hi Eli, Please assist I am having a problem in connecting the database to suitecrm that I am installing on my cpanel hosted by hostgator. I get stuck on the 5th step of database configuration.
Time for an update? Lots has happened since 2014, there are now many great totally free CRM options (Bitrix24, Hubspot, SuiteCRM) that are just as good, if not better than Salesforce, Siebel or MS Dynamics. While explaining concepts is great, showing how it's done in an actual CRM system would be much more effective IMHO.
Does anyone know what's the CRM software for creative work that he mentions on TC 10:18? I hear something like "Extrant" but I'm pretty sure that's not it. Thanks!
Thanks, Eli. Off the top of your head can you think of a CRM system that may be good for tracking sales pipeline/funnels with performance metrics? Good video, btw. Very useful. Thanks for sharing.
How can you *forget* to do backups? It's part of the cost of having anything on your own servers. If you *already* have backups and so on, then self hosting is a more attractive solution. If you are a small company with three guys and a suspiciously well trained delivery goat, you don't have the time to do that sort of thing. It's a trade off.
I swear this man is saintly. He could easily bundle all of the knowledge he has amassed into several DVD series but he chooses to share it free of charge on YT.

When it comes to storing subscribers from your website would CRM zoho be a good solution?
I haven't touched Zoho in a few years... can't say...
Thanks for responding :) Are there any software you have used you could suggest?
I personally use Prosperworks at this point, but CRM is a very personal decision.... just depends on what you need/ what you're willing to pay...
