  • This topic has always been a pain point from me. I cannot stand when there is baby talk in children's books. There is a reel I stumbled across from a speech therapist that perfect described what I have been trying to articulate when it comes to me view on modern children's books.
I am not a fan of the 'baby talk' that seems to be all too prevalent in today's children's literature. While I understand it comes from a place of, "wanting to engage," the children, it's actually doing a huge disservice. Is there a link between speech and reading? I think so, and I will explain why.

Couldn’t agree more! It is so hard to find good books today. I spend forever finding modern books that I like enough to buy and bring home.
