You really look like that one guy from Numberphile! I can't believe I didn't see those similarities before! You're almost congruent!
+twertygo Gotta say, that Matt Parker guy he featured looks really familiar as well!
+Jack Southgate GUYS THIS IS ANOTHER CHANNEL FOR THIS GUY DOING THINGS THAT HE LIKES ,FROM NUMBERPHILE
+papas sou (thenerfgamer09) I'm pretty sure they're both joking...
+Chaim S
Papas sou is probably joking too !
francis bélanger i am not ... but i do not know how they thought and didn't know that , that was him.
Now that you mention it, the resemblance is uncanny!
+x nick 'Tis is. 'Tis is. Maybe a doppelganger of some sort.
+CashCop Parabolati confirmed?
Wow, you look and sound like that guy from Numberphile! You also have the same names! Such a coincidence! The world is so small!
+azlhiacneg lol
He IS the same guy frow numberphiles
wooooooowwww
@@MCSre r/woooooosh
It's obvious that your totally different people. He has a better mic. :p
+Lucid Moses Harsh :D
Please do a collab with the guy from Numberphile, and make if funny like one of Nat's videos!
+Mario G. Cardiel Little known fact that Nat is actually three different people.
+singingbanana Those are fantastic news! It triples my dismal chances to date one of them.
+Mario G. Cardiel Who is this Nat? Does she do maths videos?
+louisng114 ew shes asian
+Sam Bishop James is a fan of Nat, Nat is a fan of James, and I am a fan of both. Nat = CommunityChannel, as indicated.
Nah, you look nothing like Matt Parker. ;)
+Penny Lane You mean Brady?
+1kuaq (that's the joke right there)
+rbapf You made my day! :D
Wow, never noticed the looks, but come to think of it, your name seems oddly similar to that professor's from Numberphile as well... If I didn't know better I'd be convinced you two were one and the same guy!
It's so cool to see all these math channels making similar videos and recommending each other, warms my heart lol
Now that you say it... you DO look like the guy from Numberphile. /s
Robin van der Burg He IS the guy from numberphile.
Mihir Kamat
Thats the joke
Hey Dr Grime, I just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. I have seen your personal channel and your appearances on numberphile, etc.
You are one of the reasons why I chose maths for an A level. Being quite stressed about the sudden need to pick my subjects, I saw that I started enjoying maths partly due to you and your videos. I particularly enjoy your logical maths.
Thanks again, and keep the videos coming!
Thank you Louis - I make these videos so people can see what maths is like. If you're about to start A-levels, I think you might enjoy it. Good luck.
singingbanana Yes, I begin in September. Thanks for responding! Love the videos
Loved the mini video series!
Who told you that you look like "the guy from numberphile"???
Jeez, people, wake up!!!
:P
+Aditya Khanna oh you...
+Alex Martini - Comedian must be one of them crazy conspiracy theorists XD
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
+Alex Martini - Comedian
Wait that guy at 0:55 looks also like a guy from Numberphile, LOL.
Hey! Just saw your enterview with Rafael Procopio! I was so thrilled to see you there, I'm a huge fan of yours :DDD
+Felipe A. Barretto awesome
Video editing has gone to a new level.. Two different channels.. Same looking guys.. Don't know each other... Epic.
I love the fact that now there are films about scientists such as this one, "The Imitation Game" about Alan Turing, or "The Theory of Everything" about Stephen Hawking because they popularize science a lot and make nerds look better (:
i hope you keep making more videos!
I've seen these videos before but I really enjoy Mathologer's. I think it really gives a good idea of -1/12 as adding positive numbers together and getting a negative tends to get an angry response from some people. This really goes into how it's more assigning a value that we can use and works and extends the current definitions and it takes away a bit of the 'weirdness' of it all. I wouldn't be here though unless I enjoyed all your videos too though :D.
Complex analysis seems bloody funky! I wanna take a course in that now.
I just wanted to say that I suck at math but I think your videos are interesting and entertaining. Thank you for making them.
how could have i missed it?!?! i have been watching both your and numberphile's videos for so long! what's more eerie is that it turns out the numberphile's guy name is also dr. james grime
:3
Yay new video!
nice review short review nice and short review lol
ps i watched your other three ramanujan vids very nice
pps that numberphile guy - pft! - who knows where brady gets those people ; p
That moment when you're already subscribed to all four channels in the description.
Ohhhh! Now I know why is it that I felt I had seen you before!! That professor from Numberphile! Of course!
love your vids! found myself quite interrsted in maths
So the guy from Numberphile is your twin brother? May I call you... the Twin Grimes? (long pause here, include cricket sounds if you wish)
or maybe it's your Cousin Grime?
+FadeToBlack279 Ha i see what you did there. The Twin Grimes.
Larry Lyü yeah I know, it's such a bad pun but I just couldn't resist
+FadeToBlack279 Applauds
singingbanana (bows) Thank you, it has been an honor. I assume you must hear those kind of jokes a lot seeing that you're friends with Matt Parker.
Are you going to make more videos?!
Yay for ramanujan
Hi everyone! This week I'll be making loads of videos. *Proceeds to not upload a single video for months*
Hi , I also miss his videos mate. :( But in the beginning i think he said "this week I've been making loads of videos" because he uploaded 3 videos in a row before this one talking about Ramanujan. ^^
i am following this channel regularly and also numberphile.. i have seen a couple of videos on sum of n natural no. upto infinity is (-1/12) and you have also shown that it is also applied in string theory in physics...
but it cant be true.. i would request you to upload the proof of that theorem so that there can be some sort of explanation to that....
also if possible add some videos on the lost notebooks of ramanjan.. and proof of partition and the prime number theorem of ramanujan..
The black hoodie makes you look even more like the Master though XD
oh no its your long lost twin who can never be seen in the same room as you
I'm a simple girl. I see James Grime in a hoodie, I click.
As a filmmaker with an interest in maths, I agree entirely with your criticisms of the movie. I would have taken an entirely different approach with a Ramanujan biopic. Maths is such a sexy subject, the most creative subject, with the most wondrous patterns and structures.
You should make a vid about the Puzzle "36 cube". i think you'll like that.
I love all of your videos (and numberphile in general). But you and at least one of the women are just lovely. And the klein-bottle-guy. Do you always smile?
The annotation links in the video don't work yet.
And if you have been, thanks for watching.
Thank you, Dr. Grime. i have said it a few times, I'll request you too *pushy*
Could there be a formal movie review on numberphile of this movie?
And Is this the end of miniseries?
"A lot of scenes of people talking in rooms"Us singingbanana and Numberphile fans will love it then!
I originally subscribed to Numberphile because I thought it was your channel.
you should do a collaboration video with Mathologer sometime!
Is anything new coming out soon? :
Ha, beat you to it, already watched all those videos!
please make an episode on the ABC conjecture!
Now you mention it, you REALLY do look like that guy from Numberphile! :-)
1:31 I think that's the first time I heard say "uh hum"
So singingbanna you are saying you are not dr James grime from numberphile so who are you please tell me.(because I love you so much and you are awesome you are one of my favorite mathematicians if I want to rank you from my favorite mathematicians I put you rank/number 1)Thanks For Replying If You reply!😀
In Pi/4 of your latest videos on Ramanujan, you forgot to say "And if you have been, thanks for watching". Phytagoras theorem confirmed!
Pythagoras is REAL!!!! Government has lied to us!!!
Wow he looks like that guy Big Pun left dead in the middle of little Italy, little did he know they riddled some middleman who didn't do diddley.
I honestly don't know how many people pulling the "You look like the guy from numberphile" are joking, and how many are actually serious...
How do you motivate yourself when you are discouraged?
A mathematician in a hoodie!
137k subs. My favourite number is 137. I would have done an exclamation mark but I didn't want people to think my favourite number was 137 factorial
heres a problem. Using the RSA algorithm using big prime numbers to encrypt a message such as "bad chef" generates some pretty big and seemingly random numbers. These numbers are to big and are seemingly so unrelated, is there any one function you could use on all of them to get them back to letters or 1-26 and then reverse it?
The mathematician who knew sassiness
James, am I allowed to ask how old you are? I'm 16, and im starting to get really interested in maths, and looking at things like the Riemann Hypothesis, and Fermat's Last Theorem etc.
I'm 35. Have you read Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon SIngh? I recommend it.
+singingbanana Oh wow you replied! I've heard about that yes, and I've seen the video on Numberphile as well.
The guy from numberphile doesn't have a red mark on his upper right cheek though
What do you make of this function?
-ln(x^5*sin(x/cos(x^3))
Add a right-parenthesis on the end, and you can see it graphed here: www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=-ln(x%5E5*sin(x%2Fcos(x%5E3))%EF%BB%BF) Looks like grass growing around a tree.
Hmm, you do look a bit like Brady. It's probably the blonde hair.
Wait a second... Have we ever seen him and the guy from numberphile in the same room??
Are you in Cambridge in Michaelmas term? I want to meet you! And explain why physics > maths :DD
Can we fans come together and buy this man a camera with a better image quality than a mid-80's tele?
The camera is ok, I think the issue is the low lighting.
+Famfly J like that there's enough lighting unlike so many
You do look like the guy from Numberphile omg I just realised 😱😱
now that you say it, you do look like the guy from numberphile!
He is the guy from numberphile. I don't think he actually meant that
you suit a hoodie...more casual wear please!!
whay we can not slove 2^x=8
You keep saying "Mathologist" instead of "Mathloger" xD
+André Reis Flip. I think I slurred mathologer's and mathologist.
Actually those two people are the same(James Grime)
Do you have one more channel named Dr. physics? Your voice is similar that guy.
Not me.
ok sir.
wait... you're not the guy from numberphile?! well, there goes my theory that all of the various mathematics channels on RUclips take place in the same universe! way to wreck my dream...
Y-you're not the guy from Numberphile? Mind blown.
It's a Parker Square of a movie, then?
Numberphile Dr. Grime has never been filmed in a hoodie--that's how I tell whether I'm on your channel or the other one.
you are the guy from numberphile ik it
a professor
from the Federal University of
Oye Ekiti in Nigeria, has
solved the Riemann
Hypothesis . Sir do this news is right
+singingbanana You did not complete the sequential order of videos to watch, sir
Whoa dude. Put on a purple shirt and you could be the numberphile guy's twin.
im still tripping as i just have been told this guy and the numberphile guy isnt the same person
Before you make some more videos you should invest in a better microphone. A decent lapel microphone can be had for about US25. It's the only thing letting your down. (Maybe borrow/steal Brady's?). I had been gradually working my way through Numberphile's back catalogue and now I've diverted on to your. All good stuff although I would like a video about Godel's incompleteness theorems.
And this sort of comment is why I don't like to make videos anymore. I make these videos for free and in my free time.
Ignore those people!!! I love your videos, it keep me enthusiastic about math like how I was when I am younger. You are motivating me to do a post grad in math. (:
+singingbanana Cripes! If it wasn't clear enough in my comment I think your videos are tremendous. Too bad if you have stopped production :-(
parker square!
this was a well made video and was a magic square of a video, not some parker square
Wait.. aren't you James Grime ? .....
These crazy people, you don't look like Brady at all.
Why didn't you tell us you had a twin? Brady is awesome!
The guy on numberphile is not you? I seriously thought you have two maths based channels in RUclips
wait I don't get it is this guy and the guy from numberphile not the same person???
wow I am retarded :o
Talking about how similar you look to some people, to me, you look like Martin Freeman, only younger.
wait omg is this ACTUALLY the guy from numberphile?
The asian professor who always does stuff with physical objects
You do look quite similar to that Numberphile guy! Perhaps you could get Numberphile to link to your channel and get even more subscribers?
Also he has a better mic!
I thinkit was a joke but please confirm me he is the numberphile guy right??
You look like him...
so who would win in a maths-off between Dr James Grime and Dr James Grime?
Use RUclips "cards" please for those of us on mobile, thanks.
+Mumra 2K Aah, fair point. I'm a bit behind on RUclips's new features. I'll have a look.
singingbanana Firstly, thanks for the reply, sorry if I appeared curt. Yes, cards are really cool. support.google.com/youtube/answer/6140493?hl=en
You can also use them to engage your audience with polls extremely easily using Cards. I'd love to see future videos from you which would include polls, for fun or feedback.
Love your work, I've been following for YEARS along with other Brady affiliated videos. Please continue doing RUclips.
+Mumra 2K Excellent. I will do that later.
Hey you look like the guy from Numberphile.
Who would ever confuse a banana with a guy?
You look nothing like that guy from Numberphile.
Is he your twin banana then yea?
Yeah. Honestly, I got the impression that half of the movie's message was based in promoting theism and it even seemed, to some extent, to mock non-believers. It promoted a platonic view of numbers, strawmanned nominalism when Toby Jones's character says Newton "invented gravity". It just felt like there was some bad-faith screenplay.
I've watched and I haven't been thanked for it :/
Roter Widerling
Thank you as well
But have you really been watching?
I do wish that you pronounced his name as every Indian narrated youtube video I've found does, Ruh-MAHN-u-jen, not Ram-uh-NEW-jen.
oh great and wise professor Grimes, I am in need of guidance. my friend posted this evil little riddle and I'm not sure of the answer...
If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you'll be correct?
A) 25%
B) 50%
C) 60%
D) 25%
