    I have the 1/2in 18GPM 4k PSI, one of my favorites when jetting from manholes against flow. It’s good on those stringy roots, not so much on those thick roots. Overall this nozzle is a beast of everything except thick rope like roots. I’m a hydro jetterVac operator with Local 5 plumbers & gasfitters union

    Great tool. Will it work with 8 gal at 3500 psi 3/8 hose? Thank you

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  2 года назад

      Absolutely yes; in the video we were cutting roots at only about 7gpm/3000psi (we were running a 9gpm/4000psi Jetter at about 3/4 throttle, which lowers its GPM/PSI). 3/8" hose is perfect too.

    Better to get a 3000psi 12gpm or 4000psi 9gm? Looking more for cutting roots and blockages on 3 and 4 inch

      Get the '4009' if you primarily do 3" and 4". It's great to have a ratio of 2gpm per pipe-inch (e.g. 8+gpm for 4"). The '3012' is for people that jet a significant amount of 6", along with the 4" and smaller. Either size runs root-cutting nozzles well, such as the REAPER or WT-WARTHOG, among others

    Can the reaper with a 3/8" hose and a small portable 4 to 5.5 gpm cut through roots?

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  8 месяцев назад +1

      5gpm will cut roots with the 3/8" REAPER #6 if the jetter is rated for at least 3000psi (5gpm is much slower than an 8+gpm jetter tho). I would not recommend any less than 5gpm because at, say 4gpm, there is not enough water-flow to build 3000psi against the Reaper-6 nozzle's orifices (because the orifices are the main point of resistance that the jetter's GPM builds pressure against). For example, 4gpm forced thru the Reaper-6 will only build around 2000psi, which will have poor cutting-action. So far, the Reaper #6 model has the smallest orifices available in the Reaper lineup. Maybe they will come out with a #4 or #5 with smaller orifices for 4gpm jetters but it'd be even slower because water is the cutting/cleaning tool - the lower the GPM, the less the impact on roots and buildup

    Curious to see how the 3/8 warthog would do.

    Would the 3/8 #6 work on 6” clay pipe?

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  Месяц назад +1

      For cutting out roots? And what is your jetter's GPM/PSI specs? The #6 is maximum 6-GPM if you have a 4000psi machine, or it yields about 5-GPM at 3000psi... that'd be relatively weak GPM-impact - do you have a higher-GPM jetter??

      @@JETTERSnorthwest I don't have a jetter just a Honda pressure washer 4gpm 4000 psi. Yes it's for roots in the pipe.

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  Месяц назад +1

      OK with a 4-GPM machine the REAPER #6 will "only" build about 2000-2500 PSI which will still do some light cutting. We can improve that PSI to ~3000 by customizing it from standard 4 rear thrust-jets down to 3 rear thrust-jets, but that'll reduce the Reaper's ability to pull itself and the hose into the pipe so I'd only recommend that if the pipe-distance is under 75'. Bottom line: it'll be slow-going bit it will do root-cutting for you, but it might miss roots at top of the pipe due to the low 4-GPM input. Hope that helps -- let us know!

    Ok well I guess I’m gonna be that guy. Show me this same demo on a pipe that’s buried and the roots are still attached to the tree.

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  2 года назад +1

      I hear you; in this video we wanted to force the Reaper to chew up the roots rather than just push them out the end (since obviously they were not still attached to the tree) -- that's why we pushed the pipe up against the wall. Also, we chose to video this section because the roots were fresh -- it had just been cut out of the 40+foot section that was packed with roots. Hope that helps! Jz

    What is the best hose to buy?

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  Год назад

      Are u asking what is the best size? Or what is the best brand?

    • @JETTERSnorthwest
      @JETTERSnorthwest  Год назад

      If you are asking about brands, for 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" sizes we prefer (a)Polyflow (who makes custom hoses for us under our Jetters NorthWest brand) and (b)Piranha best. Both are American-made tough and easy to get fittings for. For smaller hoses we don't like 1/8"(.13") hose since it is very restrictive, so we sell 3/16"(.19") "Trap-Jetting Hoses" with 1/8"NPT threads and steel-braids so that they are push-able thru small lines and P-traps. (I don't know if you saw my previous reply/question, but maybe this answers your question)
